WB isn't shifting course to some light, fun, non-serious film slate. Sorry to disappoint, but that just isn't happening. So no, they aren't going to go for some "light and fun" composer.

The THR article mentions that DC Films was "newly created" when Jon Berg and Geoff Johns were brought in to run the division. If it was formed prior to BvS coming out, wouldn't it have been credited on the actual film?

The official Hollywood trades indicate that the executive change happened after BvS came out, including Affleck being upgraded to executive producer on JL. This is clearly reactionary.

And I knew about Zimmer retiring from the superhero genre, but it's very possible the JL composer will be someone completely different. They may want a composer who's known for his/her lighter blockbuster oeuvre.

As long as the catchy 'Is She With You?' track returns.

It would be funny if WB utilized a composer that was known for their Marvel Studios output for JL, like Brian Tyler.

I mean, they already have J. Jonah Jameson, Norman Osborn and possibly Otto Octavius, they could get Danny Elfman to compose. :hehe:

Williams, Elfman, Silvestri, Desplat, Shore or even Patrick Doyle would be a slam-dunk choice. As long as the score veers away from the Zimmer sound.

I voted for Danny Elfman. However, I would like to see John Willams and Junkie XL to join in.

VERY happy about this. Junkie is perfect for this kind of film. i hope he goes that full Mad Max Fury Road epic sound on this.

I hope he keeps those quiet moments too though

While I didn't think Junkie will be the one doing the score and was hoping for Howard Shore, I'm kinda happy he will. His style is not much different from Zimmer's more recent work, so it won't be a drastic change from the sound of MoS and BvS, which is a good thing.

Also to note: Deborah Snyder said that they still have access to Hans' work. I think thats a subtle hint that we're getting Superman's Man of Steel theme back.

I wonder if he will manage to come up with a memorable Justice League theme.

John Williams was never scoring the film. Fanboys need to get over the fact that Williams will probably never score another comic book movie.

The score in both MOS & BvS are some of the best i've heard in a movie ever. Glad Junkie's back as opposed to somebody as boring as Bryan Tyler or campy/upbeat as John Williams.

So much for completely changing the sound from BvS. :cwink:

Yea, I'm actually glad Tom is back, with BvS soundtrack he convinced me he is able to bring some great stuff to the table.

I want someone else. Or at least Junkie with someone else.

^I just want Junkie to retire from film music period. Just don't care for his music.

Wow I'm shocked to hear y'all say this. I thought Junkie was pretty well loved especially when he scored Mad Max. I love his sound, and he's versatile, too. I HIGHLY recommned checking out his Run All Night and Deadpool scores.

How do most of you feel about using actual songs for the films, in addition to scores?

I think for a movie like this i think score is necessary. Junkie KILLED it with Wonder Woman's score this year, one of the best themes i've heard in a while. I hope he composes a badass JL theme for when we get that money shot!

wonder woman's theme was great. the coolest part of seeing bvs for me was everyone reacting to that guitar lick when she showed up to fight doomsday.

WW's theme wasn't even Junkie though. I recall Hans noting it was one of his female friends who came up with the riff.

^yes I recall that in the featurette, Hans was stuck and his lady friend sorted it out for him.

They HAVE to use the heroic part in "What will you do when you are not saving the world" when Superman makes his comeback and kick ass, and use the emotional part of the track when he reunites with Martha and Lois :hmr:

I wonder if JunkieX's going to compose Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg as well as the JL theme (I suspect JL theme will be based on Hans' work and MOS), that's a lot of work, no wonder Hans retired :ninja:

Tina Guo?

Could be someone else though, as in the interview I watched I didn't hear that she came up with the riff, only that Zimmer was inspired by her playing style.
