Dante's Inferno

I mean believe me i was very excited for Bayonetta even when only few people heard about it, but the PS3 problems are just too much! I hope they will patch up the PS3 to the same quality as the Xbox360 because otherwise it's not worth a damn cent.

Ah well soon we will get to play Dante's Inferno. :) I wonder how long the game is... Hopefully aslong as the 1st God of War game.

Load times aren't the fault of the PS3 but the fault of lazy studios. PS3 is a more powerful system than the Xbox but it also more complicated. Xbox is made by microsoft which also has its own programming language which makes the task easier when your working with a language you know very well. Which I imagine most studios all know the C# language very well.

BTW Dante's Inferno looks like crap I was excited at first because I thought it was going to be this deep story driven journey into hell which would take the player with them. However its nothing like that and the gameplay would suggest its nothing more than a mind numbing action game. Which is not intended for a player to even notice or care for the story or scenery after the first initial shock.

Notice or care? Kinda like how many people don't care about God of War's story or DMC? If the player doesn't care for the story then they won't. We've seen enough teasers and talks about Dante confronting his past and seeing why he has his friends in Hell and whatnot. How about we wait before we judge something.

God of War's story is one of the reasons action games have a higher standard for story telling these days.

Really? Because the story is pretty generic and Kratos is a terribly written character. People just don't see it because he's a "badass."

It's kind of generic, but overall it's pretty well written and well done, especially for an action beat'em up. Kratos isn't that great of a character, either, but he's what's in right now. And, in comparison to other main characters in a similar vein (Master Chief, Gears Guy), he's not the worst character

God of War has a great story but i've seen so many comments on people just not caring for the story it makes me scratch my head. Yeah Kratos is a selffish prick but the whole mythology stuff is really kick-ass, and so will this game's Christian Mythology too.

Some were expecting this game to be like Bioshock, where it has the guise of an action/horror fps, but that storyline is more engrossing than some of the best movies ever.

Really? I could kind of see that when the game was first announced, but I think that's a pretty lofty expectation with how the game has been shown afterward

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Would you kindly stop sucking Bioshocks balls? Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING in that game was done much, much better when it was called System Shock 2.

Says the guy who was sucking Sony's balls earlier in this thread.

Still Penny-Arcade's article speaks the truth. If the book gets buyers because of the cover having Dante looking badass. Isn't it a totally ****-win then? Some people might get hooked to the classic poem SIMPLY because of a badass poem.

I don't see you guys whining about LOTR movies having Sauron as a huge eye ball or Arwen playing a much important role, but nooooo you guys suddenly can't stand this thing while you guys probably haven't read the poem but might be interested after the game! :p I certainly am! And i can proudly thank Visceral Games for it! Suck it haters.

Still not really the point. And, personally, I really doubt there will be all that many people will be hooked on the poem like that. Especially if they are expecting badass, which I think it's fair not too many people would consider The Divine Comedy in that vein.

3 weeks from release now. :) Facebook Dante's Inferno team just confirmed there planning on some post-release DLC content. :) Can't wait to hear those reviews in the coming weeks!

All the complaining I'm seeing here is disgusting and pathetic.

The only thing disgusting and pathetic is how EA has raped the real Dante's Inferno into some cheap GoW ripoff.

Jesus ****ing christ do we really need to go over how its only LOOSELY Based? Yes they share the title that Hell chapter in The Divine Comedy has, but still jesus ****ing christ aren't we already over this? Also i wouldn't call this a cheap GoW Ripoff since Visceral has worked in action games since the LOTR-Movie games and i have alot of nostalgia value for those lol. :p Sure you got alot taken from GoW but not 100%.

I mean Dante has unlimited ranged attack unlike Kratos. We don't know about the full magic system but from the moves we've seen from Dante. Only the scythe tree seems similiar to the usual GoW gameplay action.

Just because someone disagrees with something makes it disgusting and pathetic, eh? Interesting.

Particularly interesting statement since you were the one who just brought it up a few posts up and basically said to screw 'the haters'. Must of gotten over that pretty fast :o

I've played the game and I like the game.

Like God of War was this original never been done type of game before. ********!

Tons of games are derivative of other games and play exactly like other games and are still good.

I like the story and actually find it interesting. You can't make a straight up adaptation of The Divine Comedy into an action/platform game.

I agree, people need to relax... there have been plenty of GoW clones before, so is it really an issue? Also, as far as an 'authentic' divine comedy adaptation, we're talking video games here...Did we really expect it to match in quality and tone? It's just an action game in a cool setting, accept it for what it is.

Dante battles his deadliest foe yet – Beatrice, the woman he loves, transformed into the Queen of Hell! He descended into the Inferno to save her, but now he’ll have to choose between killing her or dying by her hand!
Hmm could this mean we will actually fight Beatrice in Fraud? :wow::wow:

I often wonder if people actually read my posts :csad:

So what if it's loosely based off divine comedy? Yeah you can use the Solaris example here but lets say they didn't decide to NOT hide the fact there using Dante's Inferno as a source... What would the title be for example? Dante's Inferno is a cool title and it works. Perfectly setting up that this is about 1 man's adventure thru his own PERSONAL hell.
