Yes But Groot thought the black guy was owl, and since he's black that made it "lame". Meanwhile he's not even the owl. But I'm saying even if he was the owl, his race shouldn't matter or make it "lame". Just someone being ignorant as usual.

Did no one learn from the last Daredevil live action related thing don't question race changes? I say that because people didn't like MCD as Kingpin but personally, I thought he was great. No doubt one of the bright spots in that film.

It's just ignorance with some people.

Relax. He didn't say anything bad against black people. If the next Blade came out and he was white, you'd probably be the first one complaining.

Is that the only interview with them or will Marvel or someone post the whole panel interview in front of the audience?

D'Onofrio doesn't seem to quite tower over Gunton or his right hand man Wesley (is he supposed to be the same Wesley from the 2003 movie?). They're almost as tall as him.

It's hard finding an actor who's 6'7 and weights 450.

Well D'Onofrio will rock it, MCD was probably the closest you could get. He was 6'5 and 315.

Really cool that they're sticking so close to the Man Without Fear makeshift suit, reminds me how excited I was when I first saw the Mark I suit for the first Iron Man. Have to admit, though, it does let the wind out of my sails a bit that we didn't get to see the final suit. It's a bit like waiting to see the Batsuit reveal and then being shown a pic of Bruce Wayne in his black ski mask get up. Cox looks phenomenal as Murdock, though. Really cool.

Nice racist comment/reaction there buddy. Meanwhile you're wrong because he isn't even The Owl. But seriously if he was the owl, that's your reaction? Lame? Because he's black? Ahhhh ignorance. Wow.

Cry me a river and go complain to the alliance of sjw out there.
Doesn't make me ignorant it makes me opinionated.
I just wouldn't want a black Owl, ****ing sue me.
I'm white, blonde haired, blue eyed, male and heterosexual so I can do no right anyways and have long ago stopped giving a **** about the lamentations of minorities and women because I'm the scum of the earth because of the privilege I was born into.
Waaaaaaaah.

So I guess there's no chance now of the yellow costume? Unless perhaps it's something he tries out temporarily before settling on the red costume. Perhaps it could just be an easter egg where he puts it on but someone tells him they don't like it.

Will Night Nurse know his secret identity since she will have to tend to him after his fights? Or will she just think that he was beaten up in the courtroom?

Thanks confirms that it is a proto suit.

This is ok, I guess, but I don't see the reason in making this one of the first official images. If this isn't going to be the look for at least the first season.

If they're approaching this as a 13-hour movie, then when in most origin movies do we get the "final" suits? In Iron Man, it was around the half-way point as I recall, maybe even a little after. In both Spidey origins, it took a while as well. So if it seems probable that the final DD suit doesn't show up until midway, say, sometime after episode 6, then that would mean the proto-suit would likely be prominent enough in the early episodes to feature in the first official images. I doubt he'll be a fully-formed Daredevil at the end of the 1st episode, because the first episode really won't be a "pilot" in the traditional sense. With Netflix originals, because of their format, it's just more like "Chapter 1" in a singular, less episodic story.

The big difference of course is that:

1. There are still MANY more white characters in comics than minorities, and especially so in the MCU thus far. So changing the race of a minority has a much greater impact.

2. Blade being black is an intrinsic part of his character. This is not the case for Kingpin or The Owl. When you look at their most important/defining characteristics, being White isn't even close to the top of the list and you could still have all of said characteristics even if they're Black, or Hispanic, or Asian, etc.

Liking what I see/hear. Can't wait till the first trailer

Not really a fan of the glasses that they used for Murdock but that's just a small little nitpick

The yellow costume? oh we might see it, like one of the suit's he'll try out in front of some he trusts & that someone tells him it's a bad idea or it'll be as costume he wears when he's trying to take out the "Circus of crime" that Hawk Eye was linked to before becoming a Hero. Since he had a whip as weapon at one point and all and some circus's have dare devils as part of their entertainers.

Good glad you've decided to be lighthearted.
Just don't twist me preferring not having a black owl into me stating a black actor can't be the owl.
The presumption pisses me off.
Didn't come to praise my "progressive" theory that Rosario Dawson could be Jen Walters, just here to crap on my reaction here.

So how is this show going to work? Are they doing it like House of Cards and releasing the entire season at once, or are they going week-by-week?

Don't really care what race he is. As long as the acting/character/story is good it doesn't matter. I didn't mind Kingpin was black, thought it was an interesting choice.

As for not having enough black characters in Marvel. That's down to there not being enough black writers/artists. Which should be looked at, just as they should try attracting more women. People write what they know usually. It's difficult for a white writer to write a story from the vantage point of a black character.

Anyway not the place for this discussion back to the thread. Who was the young guy in the villains interview and what part does he play?

All at once. Which means I'm requesting that day off from work. :woot:

I wonder what will inspire Matt to call himself Daredevil. The original yellow costume was more of a circus daredevil inspired by those who do daring feats. Will he take his name from that or will he go more with a devil inspiration? And why would he do that anyway? I can understand the imagery for Batman but what will be his motivation in this series?

I'm so effing excited for this now, mwf is some of my favorite material.
