Frankly with the exceptions of the old Hulk TV show, Batman's 60's show, Spider-man's 60's cartoon, Williams's Superman score and Elfman's Batman score there really aren't any other superhero shows or movies with memorable musical themes. Scores today have jettisoned the simple but effective motifs for complexity and complexity isn't easily memorable. The most memorable scores are fairly simple.

Say what you will about Zimmer's Man of Steel score but I can hum it just fine and recall it's very simple cue. It's way softer and not done in a triumphant march fashion, sure, but I find it so easy to remember...

The horrible ASM2 movie also had a jewel of a OST. Zimmer again. Electro's suite is one of my favorite pieces for a character and even if I don't normally like dubstep, the combination they went for really melded into something amazing to my ears. It recalled me of the 90s Spiderman cartoon with it's electronic mixed with orchestral vibe.

Speaking of this show's theme, I'm glad they went with a more complex cue and I can whistle it just fine. It's not "memorable" as in a set of very clear notes that you can hum or chant like GoT or Williams' Superman theme but it conveys a mood and it's the right mood for this crime drama series.

In general, I feel that openings with a popular song or even any song with sung lyrics is cool for the first or second time you see/hear it but it dies out quicker and becomes overplayed soon after. Soon you just end up skipping the opening altogether.

If this gets a Season 2 and its pretty likely I hope we get Electra and Bullseye

Daredevil is the man and there is zero chance we don't see Matt Murdock before Defenders/Season 2. Marvel is good at giving the fans what they want and this Daredevil series > Ant Man or anything Marvel is doing in 2015 other than AoU. They have a goddamn hit and I'm a X-Men fan first and foremost. Daredevil gonna be in somebody's movie and I'm thinking he's gonna mentor Spider-Man with Cox's Drew Goddard connection.

Will Daredevil Characters and Locations Be Featured in the Other Series?
But that doesn’t mean locations and characters from Daredevil season one won’t be seen in the other Marvel Netflix series. Daredevil executive producer Jeph Loeb told us:

One of the things that’s very important to us, they’ll be very subtle ways … like there’s the hospital where Claire works is someplace that, if you live in New York and there’s a hospital nearby, you all go the same hospital. There’s no point in having a different hospital. We’ve very clearly established that there is a police station that’s near there where Brett Mahoney works. And so that kind of thing will continue. It may not be that when we get to Jessica Jones that you’re going to be seeing Matt Murdock running around, but if you’re watching carefully you may go oh that’s that nurse that was in the other scene in the other thing. So that it very much feels like you’re in that kind of world. It was something that I always loved about in the comics when you, it didn’t matter who went up to the Daily Bugle, eventually you ran into Robbie Robertson or Ben Urich or any of the other characters that had been established as working at the Daily Bugle.

i wonder if rosario dawson had some scheduling issues in the middle of the production? weird how she doesn't show up for a large portion of the season.
i'm on ep 10 right now and even when Foggy is talking about her patching him up she doesn't show up.

Yeah I had questions about that to

I completely agree. There have been some KILLER scores the past few years.

There's many more shows than just the ones he's listed that have memorable music. Such as the 90s x-men theme, friggin BATMAN the animated series, the genius of Shirley Walker. Hell of the Bruce Timm DCAU shows have wonderful music and memorable themes. The Wonder Woman tv show theme is absolutely iconic.

The Flash 1990 show also features the brilliance of Shirley Walker. Zimmer did a bang up job with Nolan's Dark knight. Who doesn't know the thumping build to the crescendo in those films? It's what the current generation know as THE batman music. Danny Elfmans Spider-Man theme is also very well known. ASM2's and Man of Steels music is some of the best superhero music ever IMO. I still think Avengers and Cap 1 had memorable work by Alan Silvestri aswell. Good stuff there.

I'll go ahead and take back what I said about the music for the new Daredevil. It's simple, but your right, it conveys a mood, and supports the drama and action on screen. It helps the show flow and does it's job without distracting. I do like this music more than the recent MCU films.

I'm hoping Danny Elfman will help Age of Ultrons music a bit. Bring us something at least as memorable as the first. Brian Tyler is a giant waste of money.

Up to episode 4 now. Despite some plodding moments with the supporting characters everything else is moving along nicely.

I'm up to episode 4 now. I have to say that DD has been my fav since the 90's cartoon. Brubaker's run was my intro to comics. To say this show has exceeded my expectations doesn't go any near how good it is. THIS IS DAMN GOOD TV. My god, I am just so happy right now.

I see this being a huge hit with people who are not into comic book movies either. This is just a blast and I'm glad to see Marvel offering something new in terms of edgier material.

Foggy :ilv::ilv:

*continues binge*

I enjoyed the first two episodes. I did notice two references to the Battle of New York in the first episode.

Just finished the first episode and... this is really good, guys. This truly feels like Marvel's take on the street-level type of hero (that is pretty much like Spider-Man in that sense), and it's very refreshing watching this kind of show with a proper budget/style. It brings memories of old shows, where superheroes had their secret identity and stuff. Which, by the way, I think is the first Marvel Studios superhero with a secret identity, and this is interesting too.

i'm on ep 10 right now and even when Foggy is talking about her patching him up she doesn't show up.

Wasn't schedule related, it was story related. In the episodes she wasn't in there really was no reason for her to be in them.

As for not showing that scene
of her stitching Matt up, it's understandable of why they didn't. There was really no need to show as it was just as easy to explain how he got stitched up.

Just started watching. The first episode wasn't anything too outstanding, but that's typical of new shows. The second episode was really great though. That final scene was John Wick-level of cool. I really need to go to bed, but I want to keep watching. I'm hoping that the show keeps the quality of that second episode.

One of the hardest things for a first episode is to establish everything while not boring you and, at the same time, wanting you to stay on the show. The first episode of Daredevil is a very good example of how to do that, while also giving hints of where the show may go.
Maybe is because we are used to watching a lot of tv shows, but we should not take for granted a 'not too oustanding but still good' first episode. That's my opinion, anyway.

...I wasn't taking anything for granted. The first episode was ok, but certainly could have been better. The second episode was a marked improvement.

Yes, first episodes tend to be more difficult, but that shouldn't be an excuse for ****** writing. (I'm not saying that DD's first episode is ******, just speaking generally).

I actually liked the first episode better than the second one

That fire extinguisher bit on the second episode was badass!!!

Holy **** I just saw the Episode with Fisk and his Date.. what he does after OMG!!!!

I've been avoiding this section, mostly to avoid spoilers and now I can finally particulate.

I'm five episodes into the show and I have a huge smile on my face! The character is finally getting the long, overdue respect it deserves and I love how serious Marvel is treating the show. Very aesthetic, I love the lighting used. Great acting, well written.

Thank you Marvel!

You know something just hit me

There was no Stan Lee Cameo. Unless I missed it

Five episodes in and absolutely loving it. This is so far beyond other superhero TV shows it doesn't even feel fair to compare them. It ranks up there with the best superhero movies. All the characters are great, but I'd have to say Wesley is my favorite. At this point I think he's my second favorite Marvel Villain, after Loki.
