Daredevil Daredevil General Discussion Thread - Part 8

I hope we get to see Tom Holland in this if not for just a quick cameo as Spidey
I would love to see that as well! the only thing that I feel like could get in the way of that though is the weird politics of the Spider-Man live action rights, film versus television. Daredevil Born Again will be a TV show, not a film, but a live action TV show at that.

Disney was able to use Spider-Man in the MCU cartoons like What If and the upcoming Freshman Year, but so far not in any of the live action shows. That's why I think it's something to do with contracts.

More set pics, featuring a good look at the Punisher and copycat cops. Putting in spoiler tag due the amount of tweets.

is filming taking place in NYC? I have to start commuting to the office again tomorrow so I wonder if I'll be able to cruise by one of the sets

Spiderman NWH sets in 2024, SheHulk and Echo set in 2025. Do you think Born Again will take place before ? or after
Lets admit Murdock wears yellow/purple costume in NoWayhome/She-Hulk period, new red one post-SheHulk/Echo, wearing the old red from S2 during blip 5 years, it can take place after SheHulk,
but seeing his relationship with Jennifer Walters, seems he lost all previous loves interest
I think it will set between battle of earth (endgame) and She-Hulk first, then after Echo post-2025 in a second part

From everything we've seen and been revealed, this show takes place just before Fisk becomes mayor and then after. That would place it November 2025 (and then supposedly theres a time skip to 2026 after the pilot). So it would take place after NWH, Echo and She-Hulk.

I think the original plan was to set at least some of it during Endgame. However, they retooled and brought back a bunch of old people, so my guess is it will take place after She-Hulk.

Eh, they revived it and they didn't. It's not entirely a continuation of the Netflix series and it won't have the exact same tone. They seem to be keeping many elements of the show after all, but it's still a bit of a soft reboot and not season 4.

before the overhaul it was more of a soft reboot, but at this point it seems much more like a season 4 than a reboot.

looks like they were originally gonna kill Karen & Foggy off

I know that's why I said that they seem to be keeping many elements after all (though we still don't know to what extent the returning actors will appear), but it still gets a new title, the story seems to go on a different direction and it is a Feige show after all so it won't have exact same tone as the Netflix series. Remember they're also keeping lots of footage of the original Born Again show that they seem to have disregarded.

it would have been a wasted investment if they just completely scrapped the footage they originally filmed, but I guess this also comes down to what we define as a soft reboot. to me since this is essentially continuing the story of what we had previously from the Daredevil television series, it's not much of a soft reboot, or a reboot at all.

if Born Again didn't get a creative overhaul, then I'd call it a soft reboot since it's still supposed to be the same storyline but a lot of creative liberties added as retcons. and if this was supposed to be a completely different Daredevil just with the same actor, then I'd call it a regular reboot.

One good thing about the reboot is they undid the awful recasting of Vanessa Fisk. No disrespect meant to Sandrine Holt, but it made no sense to me that if you're continuing the Netflix series to recast a character such as Vanessa.

So did Holt film scenes as Vanessa and get Eric Stoltz'd?

By "no acting required," I imagine he means that there was a moment of silence and disbelief from Karen and Foggy after Matt told them about the morning he walked barefoot after leaving the home of a green-skinned lawyer.

It would not be the most unrealistic thing they've heard him do.
