Great new trailer and I liked the reference to Iron Man and Thor!

Do we know when this first season takes place in the MCU?

Not exactly. Best guess is sometime between the Battle of New York and Ultron becoming sentient, but I don't think we know anything more specific than that.

If this does take place then, I guess that means DD was one of the earliest super-powered people in the MCU. Ant-Man (if you consider him powered) might beat him out, but since Matt gets his powers in flash backs as a kid, it could be close.

Well Thor then Cap then Ant-man then Daredevil if you want to call Ant-man's tech powers. However, while that may be the order in which they recieved the powers in the MCU, Daredevil would come after a bunch of other heroes in terms of timeline for using those powers as a Superhero.

It'll be interesting if we see a specific date on a newspaper or something, which dates the show. See how well they have there continuity brains on

It's definitely post-Avengers since they reference both Iron Man AND Thor (who big public "coming out" wasn't until that movie). Also I heard somewhere that the destruction caused by the Chitauri attack is why Hell's Kitchen is still such a dump (as opposed to the clean and nice neighborhood that it actually is these days). Don't know how true that is though. Given that Marvel is seemingly releasing it's Phase Two stuff more or less in "real time" then I'd assume that it's post-IM 3, TDW, and TWS, but pre-AOU.

Why would Hell's Kitchen be a dump though compared to the rest of Manhattan? Didn't the battle affect all areas? Why would that part be rebuilt in a more shoddy way or left dilapidated while the surrounding areas still look more up market?

I'm a little late to the party, but that is one exceptional trailer. Can't wait for next month!

^ Hell, it's better than most of the movie trailers I've seen of late -- by far!

I agree that with the exception of flashbacks it will take place in real time and in order in comparison with other MCU movies. So after Winter Soldier and before Age of Ultron, but I guess we will need to wait and see.

IDK I haven't seen the show yet. Maybe they just haven't gotten to it yet. Given the sheer scale of the devastation, it'd likely take years to even come close to rebuilding/repairing everything. Anyway that's just what I heard, IDK if it's true or not.

So...thatbtrailer though...I wish I had Netflix...soo bad.

"So the aliens came down and ruined the ciy, and this is the story of Hell's Kitchen's rebuild." This is further confirmed by the publication when they mention seeing a framed newspaper in the office of the New York Bulletin showing Stark Tower "being zapped by a Chitauri laser beam".

One thing I like in the trailer is that, in spite of how dark it is, there's still moments of levity. I like Charlie Cox smiling when Foggy says they're going to make a difference, or their law firm sign as a piece of paper. There seems to be a sense of comradery that needs to be there to really make that aspect work.

Maybe after the destruction was caused in New York, this area "Hell's Kitchen" has a bad group of criminals and gang members take over making it impossible for construction crews to come in and fix things up. It's just too Dangerous. Enter the Kingpin and Daredevil with different views on how to take back the neighborhood.

That was a superb trailer! I'll be upping my Netflix subscription no doubt(not that it was in doubt I would) but it indeed looks as great as I'd been hoping!

The IM & Thor reference was a nice nod!

Dang, that was the best trailer I've seen this year. I don't normally binge watch an entire season, but that could change with this show. :awesome:

The Battle of New York and devastation mainly happened in Midtown. Any Chitauri that try to go outside that area were taken out by Iron Man or Thor.

Hell's Kitchen is immediately west of Midtown, so it's probably one of the only neighborhoods directly effected by the battle.

Not only would it have to rebuild from the physical damage, but also in it's inhabitants.

I assume all the hipsters and "yuppies" had to relocat, then the criminals and lowest common denominator moved in.

Now that's just Hell's Kitchen, we don't know about the rest of the city.
We'll probably find out with the other Netflix series and Spider-Man
