Daredevil Daredevil General Discussion Thread - Part 3

I know the first thing I'll do when it's released is go to the episode with the red suit

Why spoil it for yourself? My ex used to do something similar, she'd read the last few pages of a book to see if she'd like the ending before reading the rest. Still don't get it. Just go with the flow of how the story is meant to be told. You will get to the end soon enough and when you do it will (hopefully) be worth the wait.

We should set up topics for every episode. That will be awesome! :)

I wonder if it's even possible to come on the Hype during the time that DD is showing on Netflix? Won't there be tons of spoilers (even like a picture) on the front page of SHH? There might be something saying "Get a good look at the red costume of DD", which you can't even shield yourself from because it will be there before your eyes before you can even look away.

It would be nice to keep the spoiler talk contained to just the topics for the episodes. That way people can go crazy and leave other topics for general DD chat.

Yeah, but who knows what SHH are going to post on the front page of their site?

If someone posts pics of the suit before I get to that episode, I'll look at them, but I wouldn't skip ahead. Because who knows what else you might be spoiling for yourself?

Because if he can watch any episode he wants, he can watch it how he wants.

I really hope they don't gloss over his courtroom skills. I want to see some genuine courtroom drama.

Same here. I don't want something as badly scripted as the Ben Affleck movie. Those were bad and were the kind of mistakes only a first year law student would make. I hope they brought on board a legal consultant this time round and didn't seemly just go by watching a mish-mash of courtroom scenes from various TV shows without actually understanding what is going on.

Or just google what the suit looks like the morning of April 10th. That way you see suit and you don't have to spoil anything.

I think you might be missing the point of what they were hoping for. They wanted to be able to come onto the hype forums on or After April 10th and to be able to discuss specific episodes that have their own threads without being spoiled by seeing what the suit looks like in following episodes. Not that they wanted to see the suit and avoid being spoiled as to what happens at the end of the show as your comment suggests. Although, I am sure they are equally concerned about learning about what happens in episodes they have not seen yet, but the point was to not see the costume.
Their concern is even if individual threads only have discussions related to those episodes, what is to stop the news part of Superherohype from splashing the costume front and center so there is no avoiding seeing it when you come to the site therefore ruining the surprise.

What I would suggest is to favorite a link directly to their main forum page and therefore bypassing the news part of the site, and that should fix the problem. At least until you get through Daredevil then you can go back to going through the main news site into the forum.

At least that is what I would do.

Ps. Just realized your response related to Superhero101 and mine was more related to Vision and Dark Raven's comment. Sorry for the confusion.

What if the suit looks bad though?

I think if the first time you see the suit is in the show, your less likely to over analyze every little piece of the suit and just roll with it.

The sad fact is that we've built up the red suit to be so amazing at this point that there's a high probability that we'll all be disappointed.

I hope not though. Unlike DC and WB, Marvel doesn't seem to want to cut corners on the production value of its TV projects, at least not this and Agent Carter.

Not to mention I think people become more critical about stuff when they start discussing it with others. I know sometimes I will enjoy something, but then I will come onto the hype to discuss something and someone else will say something about it somewhat negative and I will be like well there not exactly wrong. So, sometimes others can effect your perception for sure.

Im just gonna watch and enjoy it for what it is. Im not gonna try to overanalyze everything.

Yeah, I realized it at the end of what I was saying, as to who you were responding to, but thought I would post it anyways as it had info related to how people can get on the forum and avoid the main site therefore bypassing possible spoilers in the news section.

Anyways sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the suggestions Surfer.

The other problem is that people sometimes write spoilers in the thread titles which appear in the new posts, or even sometimes the title of threads you're already subscribed to are changed to Actor IS Character (like I see has already been done in the Flash forum). That's something not everyone wants to know until they watch, but is unavoidable even if you are trying to avoid spoilers.

Or some people might write a thread title like "Are you disappointed that we didn't get the red costume this season?"

Or someone might write something in a completely separate thread that is blacked out but is so obvious that you'd have to be an idiot not to deduce what it refers to.

Eg, someone in the Spider-Man forum might say that they hope Kingpin features in the next Spider-Man movie, and someone might reply: "Well, he's not going to be because he [BLACKOUT]dies[/BLACKOUT] at the end of season 1 of DD. So unless someone brings him back from the [BLACKOUT]dead[/BLACKOUT] I don't see how that's possible."

Yeah, that completely covered it up. :whatever:

self control. either stay away from the interwebs until you finish watching or this website.

I forsee some issues even with individual episode threads. You can't make people stick only to the most recent episode thread that they've seen, and there are bound to be folk watching episode 9 going back to the ep 3 thread and mentioning something.

Just have to avoid the forums until you're finished, or otherwise exercise caution.

Im gonna stay in the episode threads as much as I can so I dont spoil for people.
