because they have to film Iron Fist and Luke Cage and Defenders...dont want to stretch talent too thin

The limitations of the other shows are going to hinder the **** out of them all... Arrows just had really vomit inducing writing this year while Flash is making up for it... but damn. I am only half way through and DD is blowing me away. It could be because I went in with no expectations what so ever... no trailers... no info.. .i knew absolutely nothing except it was a netflix series.

Must be quite the experience for you then. I kept up with it's progress and bits of news as it went along. As far as comics go I was never much of a DD guy growing up, had read some of the newer stuff but really loved this show. Made me a big fan of DD. I already found a dope DD tshirt on Etsy I plan on picking up

You mean introduce him earlier? I'd like Castle to appear after Matt's already an established crime fighter. Daredevil had been around ten years in the comics when The Punisher showed up. When he arrives he antagonizes both the criminal element - and the heroes in that he's executing the people they're trying to put away.

And we know there has to be an episode in which Matt represents Frank in a trial. That will be awesome but it should also be done towards the end of the Punisher show

Now that I finished the show in two days.

I hunger for some fanfiction, pronto.

Sometimes I sit and wonder...why the hell is this show so good? How did they manage to pull off every aspect so precisely? What's Marvels secret?

I remember when people were blaming Jeph Loeb for SHIELD's mediocrity or awfulness, but that's clearly on the writers and/or the ABC network after seeing the quality of DD.

I like all of the MCU references so far without directly mentioning those references (billionaire playboy, iron suit, magic hammer). The only direct reference so far (through the five episodes I have seen) was the newspaper in Ben Urich's office that said "Battle of New York."

I hope this continues on the other Marvel Netflix shows, where the shows reference the events and characters of the MCU without mentioning the actual references.

Since I have not seen episodes 6-13 yet, I don't know if they've referenced Steve Rogers (maybe "Super Soldier").

They did. Foggy mentions Captain America in one scene in later episode.

Do they mention him by his actual name such as "Steve Rogers" or "Captain America" or no. Because they referenced Tony Stark twice and Thor, but without mentioning their names.

I believe they are discussing Fisk and how they can reveal his criminality through the press, and Foggy says something along the lines of, "Well, calling me Captain America doesn't put wings on my head." That so far is the only direct reference to an MCU character, which is kind of strange given how big a figure Tony Stark and Avengers Tower is in New York.

He says Captain America.

I like the Roxxon drop we got too. Only thing missing to reaaaally cement this as a part of Marvel U was a skyline shot with Avengers Tower in it.

Posters had it. But obviously we dont see it in the show.

I think they found the right balance of being "grounded" and "comic booky". Like it's not ashamed of its comic book roots. But at the same time it's not just throwing out nods as a wink wink in lieu of any real storylines *ahemGotham*.

I just hope season 2 can build on it. Part of what made this season great was they spent time developing Fisk as much as Matt. Not sure how will they top that.

If there'ssomething I learned from watching this series. It's that whenever you think the bar is set as high as it can go, it's not even close.

So when is Season 2 being filmed and coming out? I can't get enough of this show!

I've been swamped with school so I haven't had the time to watch this, but I've decided to watch the first two episodes tonight. I'm excited and I've never even read a Daredevil comic before.

Don't boo me, but I didn't hate the Ben Affleck movie (though I do see why it failed).

No season 2 is set yet. They are filming Jessica Jones now, and prepping Luke Cage for that. After that is Iron Fist and then Defenders. Beyond that, who knows.

I liked the Director's Cut of Daredevil

YES.

And perhaps could you link the page for the DD shirt? I've been looking for a good one myself.

No problem

It's not super fancy but it's pretty cool. The same store has a Marvel vs Capcom shirt I am gonna pick up too. Just a heads about Etsy, technically every store is private as well as being "custom made" so when stores used licensed stuff you may want to order it quickly since there is a chance Marvel or whoever will make them take it down. Happened to me with this dope Starlord shirt I wanted but didn't move fast enough.

Another pro-tip for the site is you can put anything you want in your cart and since it's all from different stores you only check out with the store you want and it leaves the other stuff in your cart. It's super easy to get cracked out and go down the rabbit hole there for shirts and stuff. I have 95 shirts in my cart right now, why I think I need 95 shirts I have no idea but I will buy every single one of them

4 or 5 episodes in now and I must say, this show takes the violence much further than I ever expected. I don't personally mind, but in context of the Marvel franchise, I was taken off guard.

Side note, while I quite enjoy the show, I cringe during the opening. It is such a shameless ripoff of the Hannibal opening. Play them at the same time and they even sync up.

There's a whole sequence straight out of Hannibal later. :funny: But the Hannibal and Dark Knight Trilogy stuff I don't feel ever brings it down.

So what? Hannibal rips off David Lynch all the time.

Loooooooooooved the opening title sequence.

It makes me wonder how sweet the openings for Iron Fist and Luke Cage will be.

There's a bit of a difference between influence from shows and movies from decades and a show coming out with identical elements to widely praised shows that are still on the air.
