Daredevil Daredevil Official Reviews Thread

All these positive reviews are making me hungrier than I was before. :cmad:

Well Collider seems to have a hate-on for superhero TV shows in general. Or at least some of their contributors do. They're "review" of the second trailer basically panned the visuals/cinematography (and somehow compared them to Gotham of all things).

They don't hate this, it's tag thing was Damn Fine Television, I was just pointing out calling Cox Irish was a little sloppy when all it takes is a google search to see he isn't and considering he is the star, you'd think some research would have been done even just an IMDb scan

^ Looks like the error was corrected.

Everyone likes to hate on Loeb for some of his lesser work, but no one ever wants to acknowledge the great work he has done.

He started out good but has quickly devolved. I will never forgive him for canceling Avengers: EMH & replacing it with Avengers Assemble because he thinks kids are too dumb to follow continuing stories.

so is Faraci's review up yet? Full disclosure: I'm a fan of Faraci's reviews but I know that every now and then he gets weirdly biased towards things. I'm fairly certain he's waiting for Batman vs. Superman to fall on it's ass for example. But hating Daredevil? I don't get it. I really want to know what he didn't dig it. The only solid complaint I've been seeing so far is the crappy costume but we've all kind of accepted they're going for a year one take on it so other than that, what could be the big issue?

Faraci's beef seems to be the black costume and the Frank Miller source material. He wants everything MCU related to be as bright and colorful as The Avengers and Iron Man and Spider-Man but that would be pointless. The point of these Netflix Marvel Knights shows is to expand the universe. Show a different side of it. A different tone.

I don't think he's doing a review until after it debuts if he does one at all.

The show got its 52 episodes that were ordered. Time to move on. Technically he wasn't wrong because Avengers Assemble is a success.

But wasn't Yost and Kyle leaving anyway and they stopped using Film Roman at the time?

I do kinda feel like spamming Faraci's feed.

No, that's not how it works. If the new show is as clearly inferior now as it was 2-3 years ago, then that just shows how crappy it is. We had a show in the recent past that was of much higher quality, so people are going to complain when Marvel cancels it something that's inferior. And they're perfectly in their right to.

Also the fact that even EMH had a drastic decline in quality once Loeb and co took over, and he treat the audience like they are a bunch of drooling idiots who cannot understand anything even remotely sophisticated, doesn't help matters.

There was no drastic decline in quality, just ******** fanboys who like to puff their chests.

I am one of those rare MCU "drooling idiots" that loves both ASSEMBLE and EMH. I did love the storytelling of EMH, but I also like the lighter, funnier bantery vibe of ASSEMBLE (for that matter, USM too). They're different, and one fared better in the ratings than the other. It's the way things go. You still have EMH on Netflix and on DVD, so you can watch it whenever you want to.

People are perfectly in their right to defend and love both shows too, by the way ;)

Soooo… I haven't seen any more DD reviews getting posted since io9's, which rocked my socks off. Next week will bring the deluge I guess.

Thinking about it, I might be able to cram in 6 episodes on Friday and Friday night.

Oh man, Friday can't get here fast enough!!

TV After Dark:

Another site making the bold claim that this isn't just the best superhero TV series ever, but the best comic book adaptation of any kind ever.

Oh boy, it's so close now... Can't wait.

Wonder if there'll be some sort of Jessica Jones tease at the end of the last episode - maybe Purple Man in the after credits

Have there been ANY bad reviews? Lol

Seriously though . . . anyone seen one yet?
