Funnily enough, due to the enemy Orson Welles made out of the Hearst media empire, Citizen Kane DID get bad buzz, terrible buzz even, from a wide range of media publications on its release.

Citizen Kane actually WAS critically panned.

It did get many positive reviews at the time of release, but Soze you are correct in that a certain media conglomerate took such offense to the picture that he used his pull to give the film bad buzz throughout various forms of journalism & media. Despite his desperate efforts, the film went on to be a success and earned nine Academy Award nominations. Sound familiar?

It's one thing to be divisive. It is one thing to be an internet scooper and to have an ego about that. But now he's just being petulant and childish.
