Daredevil reboot: official discussion thread

Agree.

It's one of those situations were you hope that all parties concerned would be able to thrash something out so that he could do both.

Man, he'd be perfect.

Dexter could be good. Chris Pine's played the blind guy in a 2006 comedy Blind Dating.

As far as costumes go. I wouldn't mind seeing him in color scheme similar to what he has had in the comics lately. If you don't know, look for Shadowland.

DAREDEVIL director David Slade posted some info on Twitter today about the movie:
"Forgot to look at the internet for a few weeks and its a litany of false (and not so far off) rumours."
"So without breaking confidentiality, yes Daredevil, we have a great outline for a very strong character driven take on Mr Matt Murdock."
"It will bare no relation to the previous Daredevil movie in any way. We are at early planning stages and have not yet discussed any cast."

I like the fact that it is a reboot. I hope we get Ryan Gosling for the role. We need someone young but talented for the sequels. And I do believe it will be based on Born Again.

Edit: Great minds, antony.

FOX get your f********* ********** **** ***** hands of Daredevil and give the rights back to Marvel!!!!!!

All of us would want DD out of Fox and back to Marvel, but this is what we have, and all we can do is hope for the best. Ryan Gosling for DD! Rachel McAdams for Karen Page! James Gandolfini for Kingpin! Sean Astin for Foggy! And instead of Nuke, I hope we get Gladiator to be played by Dominic Purcell, a guy trying to change his ways but is pulled back by Fisk to destroy Murdock.

if Marvel got DD back it would be a while before we'd see a DD movie. Marvel has its hands full with the Avengers, Iron Man, Cap and Thor....the upcoming Black Panther, Nick Fury and other spin off movies.

Props for mentioning Jensen Ackles. That kid's got a lot of potential. I'd love to see further his acting career.

MCH for daredevil would put me at ease with the project he is so perfect in many many ways for DD

Indeed he is.

Many wanted Bale for Batman and it happened. Many wanted Cavill for Superman and now that's happening.

They say things come in threes so..................

The Dd director's cut is waaaaaaaaay better than The Incredible Hulk and Iron-Man 2, and is at least as good as Iron-Man, no Marvel produced movie has bettered it so far, imo of course.
and it's better than Ang's Hulk, all of the Blade trilogy, and the Punisher movies.

and given the resume of the guy who made the last DD, he was obviously served very well by the Miller material as his Ghost Rider movie was awful. so, a better director like David Slade could do wonders with the material.

I think you put WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many 'a's in your waaaaaaaaaaay.

Even though the DD director's cut may be "better" than those movies you mentioned, it ain't in the same league as the good super hero films.

Thank God we have the last two Batman films. Can you imagine how amazing a Dark Knight level DD film could be?

Hated the leather look and head mask. He needs to be agile, acrobatic, and ninja like, closer to Spiderman and look less like he's about to jump on a GSX-R.

This x 100

Maybe I've been too hard on Affleck's version of the hero, but what you just typed is my main problem with how the DD film portrayed the hero. Though out the entire flick I kept saying to myself...Jennifer Garner is way more athletic that Affleck.

What I'm hoping is that the man they finally do choose to be Daredevil somehow has a background in dance/theater.

If he trains, no problem with it at all. And it would make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Favorite suggestion yet for Matt Murdock.

I love Jensen. He can be both serious and funny. Kick a little ass when he needs to also.

He seems more like a Clint Barton type to me. It's hard for me to buy him as a religious lawyer.

I was about to come on here and say Michael C. Hall would be a great Daredevil but I see someone has already beat to it.

I'd say he's currently the top choice to a lot of people here...Outside of SHH as well.

He's literally perfect, plus he's already in great shape for the role. Please make it happen studios, c'mon.

He looks the part, he can get pretty dark when he needs to but yet he can be lighter and happier. He's physically quite fit on Dexter.

Yeah he is. It's pretty crazy, especially considering his battle with cancer. Dude is ripped.

I know i will be in the minority with this idea but...I always thought getting a top notch actor for his acting ability was the best approach. He could be shown as Murdock and when DD is shown in costume any stuntman or martial artist can wear the costume with a 5 o'clock shadow to do the fighting scenes hiding the face with the mask & darkness the best they can.

When I saw The Lincoln Lawyer trailer in the cinema I immediately thought of this:
