I think you are being too hard on the fight scenes, the sequence when he clears out Josie's bar is a blast, and what's good about it is that he is not just some martial artist/gymnast, he uses his billy-club and super-senses very effectiovely in the scene. The fights feel brutal and hard hitting, just like a bar-fight should, you can't have them as fluid as the ones in the comic books unless you want him CGI'd, or employ someone of a Bruce Lee level of expertise, and have them wearing spandex.
They were actually better than a lot of cb fight scenes, it's not supposed to be like some martial arts movie scene anyway, as i said, it's a combo of martial arts, his super-senses and billy club, and just ploughing through guys by any means necessary.
That was actually more realistic than doing it like some Bruce Lee movie, who has got time to dance around like that, taking on one guy at the time, when there are four guys coming at you with broken bottles, what you do is just punch them in the frickin' face as fast as possible, smash the bottle out of their hands and smack them around with the big stick in your hand.
I am trying to imagine the Josie's bar scene as done martial arts movie style, and it would just be too dainty....... hard, fast, brutal fighting, bar-brawl style, that's the way it would be in real life, and that's what we got in the movie. Otherwise you're talking cartoons.
Hmarrs: Butterbean! I forgot that guy existed, i was never a big wrestling fan , but my friend was and he tuned me into a couple of his fights, but i thought MCD was fine in the role, and believable in the fight scene.
