I think the entire first post is completely over thought and over analyzed. Anything can be, and probably was at one time, cool. Cool, as far as I'm concerned, is a state of mind. Some people growing up remember having a "cool" lunch lady or "cool" janitor at their elementary school despite the fact that these positions are rarely considered "cool". Cool is also a matter of perception. Often times single people will find a behavior cool that married adults with children would regard as pathetic. Ultimately your environment, your social circle, and the opportunities available to you will determine what is "cool" amongst your peers. I'd say if optimizing your "coolness" is something you're interested in a good start would be to stop thinking about what is cool and what isn't and just chase the things you want to do.

That's what led me to get an iPhone. I had an old flip and my friends used to hassle me about it. At the time when I got it the phone was top of the line, then not so much.Because I was bored.
It's just something I've heard too many times. Some guy at the mall with his old flip phone being berated by his "friends" for not having an iPhone was the final straw.

How so? Just wondering.Yeah, the guy was pretty much publicly embarrassed. You know how young people are, all loud at the mall calling attention to themselves.

Haha, sounds like what Daniel did to me at the gym. They called him a loser and said **** like "We're not going to be your friend anymore unless you get a new phone." Pretty much making sure the whole mall heard about his lame phone.
