Sequels David Koepp in Talks for Spider-Man 4!

I think what Alvin did with 2, blew away what koepp did with 1. Spider-man 1 is a great movie but the writing is sometimes weak. I would like a collaberation..sorta like what happened with 2.

Well, not with the first Spider-Man. But, that's obvious of course!

Why don't they do the same again? Why not wait until they have his decision, and even if he says no, pick a new director first?

This says to me Raimi is not in charge anymore.

This is Sam Raimi not Steven Spielberg. Of course he was not "REALLY" in charge.

Koepp never left. He wrote the first draft of Spider-Man 2. Raimi was gonna give him credit (which you can tell since Koepp's name appears in some of those kids books that were released before the film came out) but the WGA didn't gave him the credit. Also, the reason he didn't work on Spider-Man 3 is because the films writer, Alvin Sargent (who wrote 2nd films final draft) is Laura Ziskin's husband. Laura Ziskin is, of course, the producer of the films. So, I guess you can make your own conclusions.

I must admit that I liked the first movie's story much more than the second's. It had that certain something that "spider-man 2" didn't have.

Well, that's good to hear that a familiar face will pen SM4. But I did think that the first Spider-Man movie (which did have a last-minute rewrite by Alvin Sargent) had a weaker story, but of course it had to set up the primary characters and so forth.

Spider-Man 2 was much more self-assured and I enjoyed it a great deal more than the first. I'm not so sure about the third movie, but with Raimi and Sargent onboard, it's bound to be good. Hopefully.

I won't make a big fuss if Raimi doesn't come back for the fourth movie, because there are other directors out there who can do just as well as he can. The key thing for me if the fourth movie is going to happen, they have to get Dunst, Maguire and Franco to come back.

Yah but a spider-man movie with a different director would change the feel of the whole series, plus it would have a new cast. I dont think I'd like either of those things, even if scorsesse or jackson directed .

I honestly think they should stop at 3 if 4 is going to end up being related to Raimi's movies only by name.

Good news.

At this point, Sam has everything in his hands possible to make as many films of Spidey as he wants, if SpiderMan 3 turns out being the EXCELENT picture it appears to be.

I don't think the people behind Sony are so dumb of not getting on board all the people that made the first 3, it would be stupid and... guess what? a terrible idea.

For me the real good news here are that Sony are delighted with the first cut of the film.

My thoughts? For Spidey 4, Sam will be back, Tobey will be back. Not sure about Dunst though.

The key thing for me if the fourth movie is going to happen, they have to get Dunst, Maguire and Franco to come back.

As this is a spoiler forum, I can tell you that Franco is not likely to appear in any more Spidey films. Harry is pining for the fjords.

I liked Spider-Man more than the second installment. But, it wasn't because of the story. I just didn't like how Doc Ock was really The Lizard in disguise. And, you know what I mean.

But many of those movies kicked ass! Jurassic Park was awesome! Mission: Impossible was good. The first Spider-Man was awesome! He also wrote a little film in 1994 called The Paper. It was directed by Ron Howard and starred Michael Keaton. And, it is probably one of the most underrated films of the `90s. The guy has done good stuff!

mission impossible was fun, but the writing was so vague and generic, jurassic park was cool, but after the simple premise, the level of dialogue is very simplistic, and don't get me started on WOTW!!! It may just be he sucks at blockbusters....

b) friendship

Mission: Impossible (1996) (screenplay) (story) - wow, a generic action film
The Shadow (1994) (written by) - Very fun, could do with some work though, mediocre screenplay made nice work of by Baldwin

Jurassic Park (1993) (screenplay) - already mentioned

Sure she loves the crew, but she's done three movies of screaming and wondering if Peter is the right guy for her before making embarassing speeches. She doesn't want to do four.

shame hollywood isn't known for having cinema as a creative medium for writers and directors, but more of a producers medium.
