I really believe this is the last hurrah for this cast "as is". Any future films I think will be prequels set before the original trilogy and that's where Scott can shine and take the lead.

I think singer wants to make more of these films aswell as spin off and stuff, or at least open the door for more characters and basicly to explore the Xmen universe, at lease thats what he has said

but halle berry is given more to do because she will be playing storm as the leader now, if cyclops comes back then he will be the leader and storm will take a step down back to follower per say

taking the leader role is probably only time they gave storm a decent part then to take it away? hmm... would FOX take that away? sadly its not just about the characters its about the actress playing the role =/

I think you're right, Storm has the highest odds of being the leader in this film and I doubt Cykes would take over, they'd probably have him defer to storm's leadership the way Iron Man deferred to Cap in avengers. That's if he even makes it into this film with a role larger than a cameo.

They've never known what to do with Storm and Halle and now they've found a way to make her interesting and give her an important role there is a very small chance that they would take that away for this movie, otherwise why include her just to make her window dressing, especially when there's enough characters and you have to pay an actress of Halle Berry's caliber, (she's getting paid the same amount as Ian and Patrick but is working less than them) storm is most likely leader it's a perfect continuation of the last stand that will need no explanation as opposed to Xavier or Cyclops leading.

Agreed. I keep thinking about that casting photo board. She's pretty high up there. I think you may be right about me being right Her placement in the photographs pic is pretty telling, after hugh ian and patrick who get obligatory large roles she has the highest placement on the original cast even before Kitty who many think may get a meaty role in this. The only logical reason for this would be her continuing as leader, but I guess there could be other reasons.

I think Halle will have a good chunk in this movie. If they brought Jackman back, the future is going to be heavily weighted here. However, I don't think they can blow their budget on half future and half past. For the 30-40 minutes we get assuming that hasn't changed, I think Halle will be a major part of that. I think Xavier could be reoccurring sort of in that Obi-Wan mold, at least with his voice in the head of his past self. Still don't know if physical time travel will occur, and that would be a game changer. Honestly, all you need in the 70's are Mystique and Magneto. That pair alone is probably the end all be all. I think the supporting actors they recently added can compliment Beast and Xavier. And it doesn't overblow the budget featuring mutants like that.

Agree with you about Halle but I certainly think that it will be about 50/50 split between future and past. There are already more Future characters than 70's characters and I doubt they're going to shove all of them into a measly 30-40 minutes of screentime, because face it the reason the movie gets its name is because of the future part otherwise it would be just another X-Men movie, this makes it an event movie i believe they'll showcase it as much as possible.

With Halle though like I said I think she'll feature heavily in the future scenes and if she is leader then I can see her being involved with the plot. (finally)

Unless there is another movie anyone has in mind, I can't think of one of the top of my head (maybe LotR is the only valid comparison). I don't see how they can give all these actors their due time and keep everyone happy while minimizing an inflating budget. Plus 50/50 just ****es all over the remaining FC cast. I think a 45/80 minute split will be more reasonable. With the future occurring through the end of the first act and most of the second. The latter (past) occuring mostly in the first and third acts.

A lot Is going to depend how the division between future and 1973.Is It really without going Into who Is Time Traveler going to stick 8 characters from trilogy
+Most likely Blink,who Is likely a secondary character In film,and Sentinles all In a 30 to 40 Minute screentime while for some reason dropping the first Class
supporting cast.They are only bringing back the major actors from First Class who survived.A 50/50 split Is possible.

As for who will be leader of X-men some are forgetting all film and TV adaptians of X-men have presented Xavier In Charge.The post credit scene already gave them the trap door to use Xavier.With all the talk from Bryan Singer on cleaning things up and correcting things why people think they are going to be 100 percent perfectly following the ending of Last Stand Is beyond me.Plus Singer has posted 2 wheelchairs of Xavier.That kinda challenges the notion Patrick Stewart's version of Xavier won't be around In physical role till end of film

Plus It's possable Storm could be Introduced In film as a prisoner of sentinles,and Is one Wolverine and which Young X-Man woman(Rogue or Kitty) has to break out possibly as part of an Xavier plan.

Putting Storm In major role In future kinda goes against the assumination some on Internet push that Singer hates the character of Storm.

We may be looking at cutting back and forth between 2 time peroids like the comic version did.

If there Isn't a 50/50 split we are probally looling at between 30 and 40 minutes In future and between 80 and 90 Minutes In 1973

There Is supporting character going by Bryan Singer's cast tweet that Is yet to be revealed but that could be eather a 1973 Character or future character.
Plus there are at least 3 secondary Characters yet to be announced.

They are now releasing Transformers 4 july 27.That gives DOFP 9 days before transformers.
Granted X-Men has many cast members of trilogy while transformers have an entire new cast.They may not even have any of the transformers In this film who was In previous films.
