Maybe it will be Future Xavier's disembodied voice being sent to Past Xavier.
Based on some of the new quotes I'm beginning to wonder if there is any time travel happening...
and wolverine having a past self in the 70s
Maybe, I really don't know.
But if he's not spoiling the end, and Xavier is alive and in his chair at the beginning, it means he is either totally ignoring X3 (which he says he isn't) or it's an alternate future where Xavier didn't get disintegrated by Phoenix.
EDIT: Or it means that Xavier is in the body of his identical braindead twin and the post-credits scene of X3 is accepted as canon.
I said Ill fix a few things [with Days of Future Past]. It wont be its primary function but there will be some fixing. Its a really cool story, and incidentally, it facilitates all of these characters. They werent just thrown in there. And they all play a fun role.
What they've been saying suggests it won't be what we'd normally think of as time travel: ie: Someone uses some machine to physically travel to another time.
The DOFP comic version of consciousness transfer, though done before on film ('Peggy Sue got Married' and that short lived 'Odyssey 5' series cover the same idea for example) would fit these comments.
Not sure why Singer would look at Cameron as the 'go to' guy for this kind of thing though. His 'signing off' on it doesn't mean much (imo). T1 was a neat time loop paradox which he had to tear up and ignore for T2. Guy wasn't consistent with his own handling of time travel in his own series, so I wouldn't go after him for advice on it all (try some Sci-Fi writers who know this stuff inside out)
Anyway, assuming it is a mind swap deal, then Kitty is out, leaving just a few viable contenders. Xavier would seem the most likely, then Magneto, Beast or Mystique (with the latter not having their elder selves cast they would seem to be out of the running too).
Can't think of anyone else from the future who were around in 1973 to be swapped with.
Other alternative is someone from the future gets swapped with someone else in the past (ie: older Kitty going into younger Mystique's head for example). I wouldn't think that one too likely though.
i don't see why nixon would play a large role.. i say keep him about as relevant as he was to the Watchman movie... i'd be shocked if he has a large role at all
If both Xaviers meet on an astral plane, I don't think they will need wheelchairs.
I love Banshee as a character. But I thought the actor playing him was gross. If they bring him back, I hope they cast a new actor for the role. Someone fairly attractive, maybe, please?

And as far as Scott and Jean go, I have a feeling that a particularly sinister x-men villain will have something to do with their resurrection.

I don't get this. In a time travel film, where Bryan admits he's going to fix things, why would he not use this as the perfect opportunity to bring Jean and Cyclops back?
Having Sinister doing it is so needlessly complicated when they have the perfect way to do it in this film.
No, they wouldn't need them, but it would be a stylistic choice to have them be in wheelchairs.
Oh, and someone who is remotely likable.

I think it will depend how the scene is executed. The astral plane is a wacky concept - what does it look like exactly? Will it be like the Cerebro visuals of murky, misty, ghostly figures, or something different?
I thought it was great to have someone dorky, gawky and awkward, rather than just a Hollywood pretty boy. It gave some variety to the cast and made them seem more like relatable teenagers. Of course, 11 years later, he might be less dorky, but he should still be true to character - definitely a redhead. Who could play the 70s version? Eddie Redmayne?
Shame that January Jones isn't in this. If he and Emma had a scene together, it could've been Frost/ Nixon.![]()

Well Bryan Singer only confirmed part of film takes place In 1973.we don't know how much takes place In 1973 and how much In future.
Sounds like Singer maybe accidentally gave that away. It would also match that casting call notice from a while ago.The majority of it…or that part of it, takes place in the early 70’s, 1973.

http://affaires.lapresse.ca/economi...suels-mpc-et-buf-sinstalleront-a-montreal.phpCanadian French site La Presse have received word that the Moving Picture Company (MPC) (who won an Oscar for their contribution to Life Of Pi) will deploy a team of fifty employees down to Montreal to work on Singer's X-Men "inbetwequel". The site also notes that if the "experiment" of Days Of Future Past is a success, they may open a permanent studio in Montreal.
"I read the script yesterday," says McAvoy. "...I had my first costume fitting. He looks cool. He looks fun. I like his '70's costumes."
What an immensely nice dude that guy is!
As a producer on Kick-Ass 2, I've not been in LA since Sept when Fox flew me out to sit with the insanely-clever writer Simon Kinberg and the Fox execs to chat X-men back when Matthew was still directing. But Kick-Ass 2 is pretty much done now and so my beady-eye can move back towards the Fox stuff again. There's a very exciting announcement you guys will hear about over the coming months (if not before), but the most immediate things the office is talking about are Days of Future Past and The Wolverine, both of which I'm absolutely aching to see. I saw the first 10 mins of Jim's Wolvie when I was out there last September. I'm out again next month and will have the pleasure of seeing a very near final cut too.
Days of Future-Past is potentially the biggest and most ambitious superhero movie ever made. I've seen this coming together in various stages, but now they're only weeks away from shooting it's really catching fire. I'll catch Bry in person before he heads to Montreal next month when I'm seeing Wolvie and we can chat a little more about the Fox grand plan. A very, very exciting time to be into this stuff, especially when you consider that the brilliant Josh Trank has Fantastic Four lined up for 2015. You don't know how lucky you are - when I was a kid Nicholas Hammond was playing Spidey on a visible wire!!
Lotsa love,
MM
