Who plays Barda?
Just saw this movie and I gotta say... that review seems intent on provoking a reaction.
This movie was fantastic from top to bottom... and I feel most of the credit has to go to it's producer/director Lauren Montgomery. I'm sure she brought the soft, emotional and feminine touch that this movie needed...
The Story: Minus the inner monologues, a revamped ending and extraction of some silly comic book story-telling escapes... this is pretty much Jeph Loeb's tale panel for panel.
I do believe the movie is MUCH better than the graphic novel and layered with beautiful character moments. The small touches make a difference.
The Animation: I believe MOI animation did this movie and they truly did a phenomenal job... The background, the fight scenesthe beautiful atmosphere that they were able to achive was astonishing.
Yes the character designs don't always work, with sadly Bats and Supes fairing the worse with those LIPS. However it's a minor nitpick and they did Michael Turner proud.
The Voice Cast: Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, Susan Eisneberg and Ed Asner... Need I say more?? (Susan has gotten a much stronger control over her voice these days it seems, and Daly also seems to be settling back into it). Kevin just NAILED it as alwayst:
LOVED Summer Glau as Kara/Supergirl. She brought so much nuance to her performance.
Sadly, Andre Braugher fell flat as Darkseid... he was never menacing or commanding enough. The only flaw in an otherwise GREAT cast by Andrea Romano.
Other Notes: A movie with great atmosphere, effective if lacking score and wonderful emotion... The running time felt fine to me. So apart from some design flaws, Andre Braugher and a number of nitpicks... I would give Superman/Batman: Apocalypse a 7/10
Once again, my biggest praise is for... Lauren Montgomery!!
It never explain why Krypto was mad at Kara AND why is KARA "potentially" more powerful than Supes????
superman and wonder woman were the stars of this movie. i dont think superman has ever been shown to go ape like he does in this in televison/movies.he also doesn't have any wimp moments like he did in TAS or Justice Leagueespecially cool when he's superspeed punching darkseid while burning him with heatvisionother than maybe getting taken out too fast by Darkseid at the end and having Supergirl last longer, but one awesome part was when these kamikaze demons fly into him blowing up as he's walking into the palace, and after the explosion he just comes walking out like nothing happend.
this was also the best wonderwoman has ever looked. way better than anything before. her fighting was also amazing, she definitely seemed to be the most powerful woman.
Batman did kind of bother me though, i dont really like this version
where if you didnt know any better you would swear he has superpowers as he can get thrown threw stone pillars and walls and survive. there was probably around 5 times where batman should have been dead. i prefer to keep him as powerful as a human should be. even the batarangs that are somehow as powerful as a punch from supes bother me though
anyway if you like superman and wonderwoman and batgod batman watch this
(and has anyone figured out why they didn't/couldnt get michael ironside back? it was annoying just because its one of those "what could have been" things)
DId you guys all seriously DL this?

THis was okay. 6.5/10
Of course the voice work was good. I didnt really like Summer Glau as Supergirl. I actually thought Braugher was good as Darkseid
The character designs were bad. Especially Granny Goodness.
Action was very well done. THe WW & Barda fight was cool. The Smallville fight while cool didn't feel right to me. Probably just the setting of it.
PE was alot better
No, just watched a stream of it. Was good to watch but won't buy it, I own gl first flight because I watched it and really enjoyed it. So I bought that. This was good not great so I'll pass. I would have netflixed it anyway so I still wouldn't have bought it upon first viewing. This just saves me the time of netflixing it.
Yeah but atleast Netflixing would have given some sort of Number to Warner Bros, you guys say you want more projects and such but when you DL these things you do nothing but hinder the possibility that we will get other ones. Different Ones.

i actually thought that part was kind of lamethe only badass scene was the encounter between batman and darkseid, which followed the comic closely.
