DC FanDome Thread

People can't get enough of Batman that's why there's always a consistent flow of content coming. I still feel that they haven't scratched the surface of live action Batman yet and "The Batman" and "The Flash" looks to be heading into an untapped area.
Batman is my number one character. Lucky me.

They can't get enough because DC treats him like gold while ignoring everyone else. Aquaman made a billion dollars at the box office and between the release and now....there's barely been any Aquaman content

I don't think "I can do violence and adult content now!" is the encouraging development that Bruce Timm thinks it is. But they got me with Reeves and the German Expressionist/film noir aspect anyway, dammit.
See, I’m confused about that. The way Timm talks about that show in that way makes it look like that in this series he’ll be able to get away with a lot of violence and sexual innuendo compared compared to the standards and practices restrictions that he dealt with on BTAS…but the show is still apparently airing on the main Cartoon Network, not adult swim, and the press releases still has it as part of the “DC Kids”.

Will they air a censored version with no cussing for the CN airing and then on HBO Max it’s more uncut?

I personally want it to be as accessible as Batman TAS was for fans of all ages. Always worked best that way.

I know that we didn’t see anything but I have to say that the excitement that came out of the Batgirl panel was infectious.

I also enjoyed the Milestone panel, but I’m a huge fan. I was hoping for more from Black Adam and actually was kind of expecting a teaser in the line of what we got with The Batman last year, so I was a bit disappointed. Also, The Flash tease was too much of a tease. At least show something. But alas, I’m impatient.

Who would ever pick the Tumbler as their favorite Batmobile when you have this beauty driving around:

Somebody who assumes that a thing must be "realistic" for it to be good? *ahem*

Was travelling on Saturday so missed 'live coverage' as such. Of all the DC films next year and beyond, Black Adam looked for me, amazing and I am most excited about (even before new footage collation) and the Batman trailer makes it look really special.

Yeah. I’m surprised how much I’m loving the new Batmobile. It’s probably my #1 right now. It’s like the Neil Adams version in real life and it is the one that I’d most want to drive around.

I also have a soft spot for the ‘66 batmobile, but I think it would be awful in Reece’s universe simply because there is so much rain and the ‘66 ride had no roof.

‘89 and tumbler round out the top 4. The Snyder and Schumacher rides were just too derivative and hard to take seriously.

but is it, Sean Gunn (in a CGI suit) playing the Eagle, too? lol

Also (and I thought my thoughts would be even before seeing any footage in a trailer) that The Flash looks shockingly bad.

I don’t know why people think that The Flash looks bad. They hardly showed a minute of it. I’m pretty excited for the movie.

What you can get away with on Cartoon Network in 2021 vs. what kids cartoons in the 90s were dealing with is different. Not nearly "adult" levels but definitely way more willing to deal with sensitive content and push the envelope on stuff like violence.
