I thoroughly enjoyed his Midnighter run and am enjoying Midnighter & Apollo mini (which ended today). I only read the first arc of his Supergirl and so far it's okay/decent. Haven't started on his JLA yet.

While I like that King shows the parallels between Bruce and Bane, I must say the guy does not grasp subtlety at all. And his style would be more effective if he didn't try it in every issue. Maybe he could, just once, try linear narratives.

I agree about the subtlety for sure. I also didn't like constantly seeing young Bane and young Bruce constantly referring to their dead mothers. "Mother this and mommy that" just felt, I dunno kinda weird. Didn't like it.

The art was fantastic in Batman #18.

I also don't see the same problems some of you guys do in King's writing. It's telegraphed and heavy-handed at times, but also always packed with meaning. His style is somewhat unique. It feels cinematic.

Tom King's Batman run has been fine...the problem is, it's Tom King and his writing is expected to be way better than "fine". Like, his run on Vision last year was pretty easily the best run in superhero comics in 2016. His Sheriff of Babylon is amazing. Frickin', dude did Omega Men years ago for DC and it was amazing. So, even though his work on Batman has probably been better than your average Batman book, the fact that it's Tom King means it should be way better than it is.

I have a dumb question? I have seen on the web the 4 interlocking covers on the current Superman reborn storyline that starts with Superman 18.

they are interconnected and the first 2 covers have blue boots an the last 2 red boots.

although i read that supermans costume was changing a couple months ago an having red boots

Isn't it odd that he would change his costume mid storyline?

Could this actually signify that the 2 superman are actually merging? that N52 and pre N52

I love it. Superman as a father works really well because it emphasises the core strengths of his character. He's even more of a friendly mentor and he really loves Lois. The arcs have been interesting and engaging too.
