Yeah just from the pics the animation does look pretty great. Now, if we can just see some footage already than that would be awesome as well.

1. I agree that the underwear is an element which they can easily get rid of nowadays. It's not really needed, and the red belt works perfectly as a way to break the colors. Nothing else is needed for an update, IMO. But I have no problem with them wanting to reuse them.

2. I love the new images, and am curious about this movie. It feels fresh and creative. Which is what the the recent DC animated movies have been missing.

3. I'm shocked that the preview has not been leaked yet.

I myself had toyed with some updates. If you overthink it, it becomes "too busy". Remember the KISS rule: Keep It Simple Stupid. So while a red belt, gold buckle is fine; yellow belt and no trunks, none of the above and blue boots, MOS/DCEU, those are redesigns to create a timeless suit out of a timeless suit. And yes, they do work.

I, as well, liked the "Man of Steel" redesign as it was simple and basically non-invasive, and kept the silhouette and all of the elements of the original design, aside from erasing the trunks, of course. On the other hand, I didn't like the New 52 redesign, which they used in the recent DC animated movies. The high-cut collar, as well as other elements, are unnecessary, and in my opinion completely change the character's attitude.

As you've said, keep it simple!

Justice League Action did a great job updating the Superman (and Batman) design:

Anyway, I'm not complaing about the classic suit being used in Superman: Man of Tomorrow. I very much like the simple, kind of retro-modern mixed art style and am looking forward to seeing it in motion.

Anti-trunks people are gonna have to accept the fact that they were a key component of the look for 70-75 years and that, at this point, maybe it’s not right without them.

Honestly, I think they could’ve been phased out a few decades in with little to no problems, but after all this time, they ARE the look.

That’s generally how I feel about it, it doesn’t particularly bother me one way or the other, but when a tie-breaker is needed, the pro-trunks people have seven decades of that being Superman’s look on their side.

yeah but the people (not the audience) doesn’t know that Batman has powers or not. He is a mystery. Only his peers know and the audience but he is considered a superhero.

But to be technical, Superman is suppose to be the first COSTUMED Hero But in this movie it seems Batman Has beat him to it.

Isn't Batman considered by many in Gotham to be more of a vigilante than an accepted costumed hero? I think while Bruce may have put on the costume first, the notion is that Clark (as Superman was regarded as the first costumed superhero to be accepted by the populace.
