Oh as for an MK magic character, you just know we're gonna see Shang Tsung.

As for magic character, it's not just Shang. All MK warriors are magical creatures. That's my problem. The whole MK is based on magic so how can you choose just one to fight Magical hero / Green Lantern? Also, Shang is an evil and huge character and will probably go against Lex Luther as the Epic / Arch Villain.

Hopefully Mileena is in the game as the MK counterpart of Catwoman. Mileena vs Catman... now that's the dream fight.

Well, let's not forget what Ed Boon said the rest of roster. He said aside from 4 popular ones (Scorpion, Subby, Batman and Superman), the rest are gonna be kinda mirrored. He didn't exactly say that but when he was asked by one interviewer some time ago about possiblity of Aquaman being in the game, Boon said well, you have to see if there is a character like him with swimming abilities.

So I think the Military Superhero, Crazy Villain and all other stuff has to have a MK counter-part. Green Arrow could go against Nightwolf shoots green arrows. Who could Green Lantern go against?

The magic character is probably Shinnok, Quan Chi or Ermac if that's the case. I can see Shang Tsung being the arch villain. He's been around for almost every Mortal Kombat. Shao Kahn will be the epic villain. I think that one's just about guaranteed.

Why Mavado? He's a human criminal with completely different powers and look. Not too sure about Stryker too.

Good call on Shinnok but I don't think he's big and popular enough to make it. Boon said only the popular / iconic characters will be in MK vs DC and there are more than enough popular characters in MK1, 2 and 3.

MK4's chance is pretty slim and I don't think anyone from MK5 and 6 will be in it (Deadly Alliance & Deception).

Now thinking from MK side, if Noob-Saibot makes it to the game, who do you think will be his DC counter part?

As for Shinnok and Quan Chi, I don't think anyone of them has much chance since both are from MK4 but Quan has a slightly more chance since he's been in Deadly Alliance as a main character (Half of Alliance). Having Ermac would be really cool though I want to have all MK Ninjas from Reptile and Ermac to Rain and Noob Saibot.

Good call on Kahn being Epic Villain. I'd really like to see him in the game. One of my fave MK villains. Shao Kahn vs Doomsday or Dariseid will be EPIC!

yea theres a trailer for it and everything on the 360 dashboard but at least its not marvel i think DC would be a little easier to handle just because DC does more hand to hand combat then marvel but the marvel vs capcom (greatest game) teh fighting was quicker making it better

Nice post. Can't argue with that. Glad to see a real MK fan. Even though I'm a gore hound, I must confess that story of MK2, 3 and DA are the main reasons I like the series.
But still, I prefer a bloody and gore MK with good story and characters along with a good fighting engine. Since this game is a crossover, I just can't take it's story or themes seriously so gore is all that remains for me.

And thank you sir for the complement. Yes I am a real MK fan, but with that being said, I have no delusions about whats wrong with this franchise and the direction Mortal Kombat NEEDS to go in. Whether or not MK Vs DCU is that direction remains to be seen, but it's a different direction and that's a start. Being a "gore hound" isn't a bad thing, but you can't just dismiss a video game due to it's violence level or lack there of because that has nothing to do with gameplay or storyline. From what Ive seen of this game and read in interviews I think this game is really going to surprise a lot of fans with how dark in tone and atmosphere this game really is (IF Ed Boon actually delivers on what he promises this time around)

I understand every word you said and you are mostly right but I just can't get over the lack of violence thing. As I said, I'm a gorehound and no matter how dark the tone of the game is, it's a T rated game. I know it's crazy but I even enjoyed the Soldier of Fortune 3 (Payback) on 360 which was a really bad game but had gore t:
Also, with Batman and other DC ones, I know that this game is not gonna be canon. If it is then I'm absolutly disgusted and if it's not, well, only gore remains for me. I love MK's story but only when it's the overall canon. MK vs DC will probably have a great story due to the great comic book artists helping Midway but it's still a crossover. The T rating and crossover are my main problems. Generally, I'd really love such an idea but come on, we MK fans have been wating ages for a decent MK game since Deception and DA (And some other fans don't eve consider them, so for them it's been since MK3). Boon promised everyone a really dark and gritty MK in vein of Gears of War. I really wanted to see the gory fatalities like the Gears' chainsaw attacks. I also wanted to see a good and canon story line after the disappointing MK: Armageddon...
Also, it's been ages since we saw real fatalities. MK: A disgustingly lame kreate a fatality was beyond stupid and here we only get T rated fatalities.

So, lack of M rated fatalities is another huge problem since I'm dying to get one and haven't seen onc since MK: Deception.

In the end, this game might be really good and but for me, "There is NO such thing as a PG-!3 MK game"-
