DC Vs Mortal Kombat?

How is everyone so happy? I was excited for this game too, but that video is a joke. All it's got are graphics. The story seems to be a mess and the characters lack individuality.

Superman's stance should be shoulders back and arms folded. He is not a martial artist. He is, however, ridiculously powerful. Even against people like Darkseid and Doomsday, he'd stand that way. Why change for significantly weaker ninjas?

Flash has super speed. How could he even have a dizzy stance? Wouldn't he just run to safety, heal, then come back? He would not just stand there beside an enemy. This game is just mortal kombat with DC skins.

And no one's even refuting this..

wow. in your last post, you said the flash shouldn't even be hittable... now superman's stance is wrong, and the flash shouldn't get dizzy... i say, who gives a ****? seriously, that's some trivial ****.

No...it's just that, I hated Marvel: Rise of the Imperfects when it came out. But then years later, crappy superhero game after crappy superhero game, I realized that it wasn't so bad. And I bought it and unlocked all the characters.

You can actually do quite a lot of damage and all of the characters are true to their powers.

Wolverine- Rage mode, healing factor Climbs walls with claws, etc etc
Spider-Man- Can lift a lot, webslings, shoots webs, sticks to walls, web lasso etc
Storm- Can fly, not so physically strong but can summon lightning bolts

And so on so forth...it's like you're actually playing as the character you play as. I love how flight characters like Iron Man or human torch can just hover above everyone and shoot blasts down. The only thing that would have been better is if it was ALL Marvel and Punisher, Captain A and others were in the game.


There were fatalities and (minimal) blood and it was very similar to what is featured in this game.

SO..I was hoping that the game would be like that. So you guys can make fun of my comments all you want, but for a next gen game it is going a step (or two) backwards.


People always compare MvC and MvC2 to this game but Imperfects is the real comparison. Because they have the most in common. It only makes sense to look at a good game and compare it to a game coming up.

I mean look at how people view Saints Row, they look at GTA first.

Well you should and I do. Why get a half assed game? "Who cares?" is always the question asked instead of saying "I don't care". Don't try to rally people onto your side to make me look like some kind of idiot when all of my points are valid.

Would you want a game that looks shiny but plays like a game from 9 years ago or do you want to play a game that feels familiar but is unique and new and MORE exciting and MORE complex. Game developers are not children, they are not fans that lack zero developing skill....they went to college for these things. They've studied and worked hard and if it is oh so hard for them to do their full potential then they shouldn't even have their jobs because there are people out there who would give it all to do it better.

Things you are complaining about are TRIVIAL and PART of the story. Remember the collision of Worlds has weakened Superman a bit? So it could go for Flash as well. That's the problem with all of DC'S heroes except Batman they are way overpowered to the point that you just know they'll beat anything that's thrown at them, then the same can be said for Batman and prep time, but you can't implement that in Mortal Kombat, so.

Seriously, grow up. You are making some of the most immature comments I've ever seen about a video game.

Look, Boon said the story is going to explain why the MK characters' powers are heightened while the DC characters are weakened. That's more than MvC ever tried to do at least. There's going to be a reason for why these are actually fair fights and even if there wasn't it's all in good fun. It's a fighting game you play with your friends and family. If it was realistic (well faithful, more like) then everybody would just pick Superman or Captain Marvel and crush everybody else (I'm sure Batman doesn't have a kryptonite attack in the game).

I'm still probably going to get the game. If not just to play as Batman or Robin (if he's playable..Dick Grayson is awesome).

There is positive. But just like how you all feel it necessary to post about how "cool" it is I wish to mention the flaws that I saw. People disagree with me so they are claling them trivial and immature and various other words that don't apply.

What makes a game is an individual thing, my friends. You'll find that even the most obscure game has a following. So yeah things like MGS4 or GTA or God of War and Gears of War might be top games, but that doesn't mean you have to like them.

MK might be your favorite games, but you guys like it, and I see a flaw. That doesn't make your opinion better than mine or minimize my complaints.

It's not like I said "Pffft...Flash isn't the right color of red!!" or "Superman's hair grows faster and longer in a weaker state because he's more human so this should actually be long haired Superman especially depending on how long the MK universe has been there" or something ACTUALLY trivial and insignifcant to the game/story.

From my point of view it's like a Spider-man game is realesed without webbing. Like he can't web sling or shoot webs and I mention that and people call it trivial...

Weak ass ninjas? These guys are demons and mutants and sorcerers that would give Batman a run for his money if not flat out beat him regardless. They're taking those powers that they do have (strength enough to pull out bones and intestines) and AMPLIFYING that to go toe to toe with the likes of Superman and run him through walls. Not to the point where they can lift planets, mind you, but that's why Superman is being weakened down to their level. All of his powers are intact. They're just not as crazy powerful as they are in the comics.

Anybody else excited to hear Marvel yell "SHAZAM!" and have lightning fall out of the sky? Yeah, it'll probably be similar to Rain and Nightwolf's lightning but it's still awesome.

For a game like this to work, the GD's have to take some pretty hefty liberties, sure it might not make sense 100% of the time when looking at it in the context of either a DC game or an MK game becuase it's neither; it's MK and DC. To have both sets of characters, power levels and fighting techniques had to be changed- at least they are trying to explain why characters' powers have been altered so that we won't be scratching our heads completely.
It's a fighting game, the story isn't the important part. To me, fighting games are about the game mechanics, the graphics, the roster, the moves, not why everyone is there or why they fight the way they figth, if it were, every time you fought yourself in a game there would have be some stupid cutscene about an evil twin or a clone. In Soul Calibur (one of my all time favorites) you slash and slash and slash each other with swords and axes and no one ever bleeds or loses a limb. It makes no sense, but the mechanics, graphics, roster, etc were all amazing and FUN!
I would preffer a straight out DC vs DC fighting game with huge levels full of destructible elements....but we aren't getting that, we're getting this.
So if you want to play as Batman, Superman, Capt. Marvel, Catwoman- sorry, this is your only oppourtunity for now, but I'm still looking forward to it- it keeps looking better and better the more I see!

I did phrase that wrong. I just meant in context of like comicbook versions of the DC guys. Subzero is my favorite MK guy so I don't want to make fun of him.

it seems that your saying that everyone should be upset by the fotoage...and while i understand now thats not what was meant, its what i thought at first.

and to give a calm and unsarcastice response to that comment. i have to disagree with the no idividuality thing. in theirs opening stances yes they are pretty much the same. but once the fight began i saw many many differences in the characters. shang sungs attacks (martial arts) were a different technique from supermans (street brawler). it was like watching anderson silve fight kymbo slice. the differences were especially niticable in close range combat. sonya slapping, catwoman clawing and so on.
