Deadman: The Series

Supernatural isn't particularly skimpy. Their effects never look too bad.

Kripke is a good choice and I am sure with him on this it will make it into series potential. As for supernatural I thought last season was fine. Can't wait to see what happens with the show. Also really can't judge how cw will be now compared to when dawn was in charge. This new guy is probably going to be changing alot of things. We know he is gunho for dc properties so ge likely give dc shows a proper budget. And really with deadman he doesn't need to have a super large budget.

You haven't watch it. I should know. I was saying the same thing before I ever saw a single episode. TVD tops Twilight in every way possible. Now, granted, it was probably greenlit because of Twilight, but the storytelling and acting is much, much stronger.

Dude you are sounding more and more like a chick every post. :csad: Seriously, vampires are not made to love, only to kill. All this Twilight crap does is make you easy prey for the vampire invastion.

Score 10 for Sawyer. I can't wait for this. I was excited back when Del Toro was attached to do the movie but Kripke? *does in Kripke We Trust dance*

It seems like the CW is starting to focus more on supernatural-esque entertainment. "Supernatural", "The Vampire Diaries", "The Secret Circle", that one show I heard about with the two sisters in a zombie apocalypse and now "Deadman". I wonder if all of this is intentional

Well who knows u got to remember dairies and circle where decisions made by dawn before she left. I could see dairies, gosship girl, and the other chick shows probably seeing there ends soon with the new guy. I could see him turning cw around to a wider demo markets then dawn females 18-45 deal.

hmmm, sounds like an interesting concept and kripke is awesome. i hope this happens.

The only potential snag I forsee is that I doubt they will have the lead actor parading around in red tights for the duration of the series. And, of course, that will just leave them wide open to a barrage of criticism and hate from the purists.

I don't know... maybe the trenchcoat look from Brightest Day?

At this point no one can say, I like to think Kripke will stay close to the look from the comics. It would a pretty simple make-up job, and the look Kripke gave the reapers on Supernatural was kinda Deadmanesque. The trench coat look is probably the likeliest scenario.

They would probably modify deadman costume. Maybe he woukd just be in a long red sleeve shirt and pants, with his deadman gimic logo on shiirt. I don't see that being hard to do.

Or i was just thinking, since he was a circus preformer right. Why not make the outfit he is preforming in totally based on classic deadman outfit and a zombie like mask he wears. He gets killed in that. But then his regular outfit be like that brightest day look. I would think that would work out well.

oh snap... I just made a thread for this in the DC films thread.... MY BAD. I still hope it's good

Isn't Deadman getting a reboot as well and they use that version of the costume since everyone the reboot are getting new costumes as well?

My question will be is will keep the style of the costume? I do mind some modification keep the look close would interesting.

To be honest, and please don't throww eggs at me, I can imagine them ditching the costume entirely.

Just have him wear red pants, white t-shirt under a red hoodie with a zipper infron. and a D on the chest.
It's like the worlds most easliy adaptable leotard-costume ever.

Well like I said above. I don't see harm it would cause. Having in the pilot when he is a circus preformer be a pretty close on to comics look. With him in tights and a mask. This would be like a one time thing. Then go with the brightest day look. That one seems more fitting pratical.

I love Deadman's look in the costume, classic red tights and all. But I have a feeling that, for a TV series, the concept is one that is very easily adaptable, and doesn't necessarily require Boston Brand to have a costume for it to work. So, while of course I'd love to see a live action adaptation of the Deadman comic costume, realistically I don't know if I could see it happening. I don't know if he'll even have his white ghoul face.

I doubt it's what he'll look like regularly, but I've got a feeling that we'll see his ghoul face maybe once or twice an episode. Like with Angel. For the most part, Angel was just David Boreanaz. But at least once or twice an episode, he would put his vamp face on.

Regardless of what he looks like on a weekly basis, in the pilot, in the sequence where he gets killed during his trapeze act, I'd love for him to go full-hog with the costume, look like he was torn straight out of the comics.

Absolutely. I see it as almost being the exact reverse of Smallville. With SV, the entire series was working up to Clark wearing the costume. With this, the very first episode can have Boston wearing the costume, and the rest of the series in plain clothes/variation of the costume.

Ya like I said what's the harm it would be for pilot during his death to be in a comics accruate look. Then we go with something else for main look. And on ghoul face maybe the can have that happen when he about to take over a person body.

The only two things I see them keeping are the red and the high collar.

Yeah that collar is lamer than Robin's tight green underwear.
