Haha, the old ''no one in my audience laughed so it's not funny''. That comment holds as much weight as a paperclip.

Go watch reaction vids on YouTube. People are enjoying it and it's had 19+ million views in 2 days.

Just trying to present another opinion, you can all like whatever you want. Just was saying what i thought and why i didn't like it. Simple as that.

You do realise that those reaction vids are made by people who will like anything Deadpool does right? Almost every one of those vids is about immediate reactions, and the people making them pretty much feel obligued to react immediately, no matter what they are being presented. The short could have just been Deadpool looking at the camera and saying "your momma" jokes, and people would have reacted the same way.

You have a point about "no one in my audience laughed" not necessarily representing how Deadpool 2 will be received. Which is why i decided to look outside the hardcore fandom to see what opinions were, hence the reason i mentioned that FilmCritHulk twitter post.

Whocares about what FilmCritic-Marvel Studios Shill-thinks?

Not sure what you mean. FCH usualy shows a very insightful opinion and never have i seen him just jump on the Marvel Studios bandwagon. He actualy taled about how stagnant some of their films have been. Even when i don't necessarily agree with his opinion, i admit he writes some of the greatest reviews around.

You can enjoy this Deadpool short film however you want, just as in theory, i'm also alowed to dislike it. I'm not even simply bashing it for the sake of it. I mentioned why i didn't like it.

I'm not really trying to stan for the short. It was cute, it wasn't the most amazing thing ever but why would it have to be? I just don't see it as being as important as some people do. Listen I hate that Tim Miller left and I don't think that Deadpool was guaranteed to work a second time even with the same director, let alone a different one. I am not blindly rah, rah fully on board but I will not be overly concerned with a thrown together to keep Deadpool on our radar short. In lamest terms, I have concerns but not because of that short.

I'm pretty much in the same position. I still don't like that Tim Miller left the director's seat, yet am excited that David Leitch is on board to direct. And the short doesn't signal that he's not up to the task or out of touch with the material in any way. In fact, whether you like it or not, there's nothing out of character for Deadpool in the short.

The one thing I'm worried about is that Tim Miller and Ryan Reynolds butting heads on the first one may have been one of the reasons the first movie was so great. Who knows how the sequel will turn out without the creative spark caused by a little bit of conflict. I thought the movie was an improvement over the (already quite good) first draft, especially with Wade's condition and his relationship with Vanessa.

But back to the teaser. The first viral vid for the original had Deadpool killing Mario Lopez to announce the R-rating, so I don't get why people are suddenly upset about Deadpool laying down on a dead body. Yup, it's mean. Yup, it's black humour. But it's Deadpool we're talking about.

As a test for director David Leitch this doesn't seem bad at all. It's a fun little clip, it's effective and it has a great visual style. We'll see what they're cooking up for Deadpool 2, hoping that they won't forget the heart which Miller brought to the original. And honestly, I don't think they will. David Leitch made a brilliant directing debut and strikes me as a very smart filmmaker (just like Miller).

Yeah, as long as they remember to balance the black humor with character and heart we should get a good film.

@Lord, Logan and Deadpool dont have same audience beside fact they are both X-men movies. Over 60% of audience for Deadpool is younger than 25, and over 60% of audience for Logan is over 25.

So seems for "old people" on Logan, joke flew over their heads. Or they arent audience on which Deadpool made the money as most highest grossing R rated movie. Which is ironic giving we talking about audience above age of 17.

It's ok to have a opinion and share it. But fact that Deadpool was #1 trending on Youtube, and had skyrocketing views ( 19+ million views in 2 days.). And big majority people liked it (comments) both from those who understand and they read Deadpool comics or general audience, I think it's safe to say you are in minority. Until proven wrong.

EDIT: I will also add, Deadpool isnt for everyone. Some people are too serious, some dont have sense of humor, some are too easily offended like whole 21st century generation, it's not knock on them. You dont like it you dont like it. Who'd say you need to like it.

I beleive it was said 53% of Deadpool's audience wasover 25

These numbers easily reflect mass appeal one way or the other for the biggest demos. Almost 800m worldwide without China? That's insane. It's not Star Wars but then again what really is? Sure Deadpool targets the younger demo stronger but that doens't mean the older demo dislike it or don't get it. Likewise with Logan. 83% were between 18 and 44. Ultimately That's were these both needed to hit.

And man I don't know about anyone else but there were plenty of parents who brought their kids to Logan, as well as a younger crowd and it was actually one of the most frustrating experiences I've had in a theatre due to it. That's what I get from going on a Saturday I guess, sadly couldn't make my Thurs showing.

While I enjoyed the short, part of me wanted to see Deadpool laying waste to that thug. Can't wait to see how Leitch approaches the action sequences!

So the news broke today that X-Force will feature Deadpool as a main character. Smart move IMO; Fox seems to understand that Deadpool is essentially their Tony Stark (especially now that Jackman has hung it up as Wolverine) and while I would assume X-Force will be a lot more serious than Deadpool's solo films, more levity in these movies (usually) isn't a bad thing.

Is there a definitive X-Force team or does it vary? I'd rather not have any Singer X-Men involved. A fresh batch of new mutants.

The classic team has Cable, Domino, Shatterstar, Warpath, etc. Its been ages since I've read some of the old stuff.

If they are making it R, I think they will borrow more elements from the more recent X-Force (where Cyclops makes them the kill-squad), and some of the more prominent members include Wolverine, Psylocke, Fantomex, Archangel, X-23, Marrow, etc. Uncanny X-Force is also the only time Deadpool was part of the time. It will never be adapted, but having Fantomex shoot you know who would be amazing. Especially if they don't reveal the twist.

Does anyone know if Morena Baccarin is returning for this? One of the best elements of the first. Also would like to see her in full Copycat get up....

I don't care if she becomes Copycat (as I really like their relationship as is, without the need to have her be superpowered), but I'd like her to return, as well.

But who knows what they've cooked up for the sequel.

Seriously dissapointed with casting and race for Domino. My hype for this movie ended with the casting. It's just sad I can anymore go watch movies just for sake of movies and enjoy them. Instead getting this Hollywood propaganda, unatural, forced of so called diversity. Aint paying no buck for that.

Dude, seriously?
Did you think about Hollywood propaganda when a black Blind Al showed up in the original movie?
People should watch the Red Band Atomic Blonde trailer (with a kick-ass Charlize Theron) and relax. This movie and Domino are in great hands. And I'm sure that next year you'll all be drooling about Zazie Beetz's performance as Domino.
Mark my words, guys.

I'm sure she'll be fine. Good Lord. Just because comic books as a whole have been subtly racist for decades by making the majority of the main characters white doesn't mean that films have to follow the same pattern. And I'm glad they're not.

You need to look deep within yourself and find out what's really wrong.

Wow.

The thing is nothing about Dominos's race is ever mentioned. And I don't think the team here are going for someone black just so they can look good. They tested different actresses and picked the best one. That's all that matters. If it was Cable and they went for a black actor ok maybe then they are forcing it but it isn't. It's no big deal. These movies need diversity anyway. So much of the money that is made is from international markets. It's good for other countries and races to feel included in big movies too. Not just white people.

This post does not make you look like a kind person. It's incredibly disturbing on all levels.

Ugh, who knew Bannon was on the Hype?

But what about ethics in gaming journalism?

I really don't understand this. You are casting someone who is going to be under an unnatural color of face paint. What the actor's race for Domino, Gamora, Blink, or Nightcrawler really doesn't matter.

The Domino casting is interesting. The roles of Dom and Cable are highly sought after by some pretty big stars.. and they've gone with an unknown.

She either had an amazing audition or Fox are being cheapskates again. I prefer to think she had an amazing audition and really clicked with Leitch and Reynolds.

Again, what does it matter? The biggest name in the first film was Reynolds and look how that all turned out.
