Thats good I wasn't a fan of how X-force was becoming deadpool 3. This sounds much better

“We're on it every day. Drew has been a consultant on the project, and is a wonderful, creative voice that's helped guide us. But in terms of writing, we're have been the only writers on it, and we'll continue to be the only writers on it. As we go to shoot - and again, I know the rumor was floating around that Drew had taken over writing, and that is a false rumor that hopefully will be put to bed sooner than later - but we're actively involved with crafting the script with Ryan and working with the director.”
The tone will be the same. It’s going to be the same in that it'll break rules -- in some of the old ways, and some new ways. But it's going to be the same Deadpool people were entertained with and enjoyed in the first movie. We're not so crazy as to change that. But, new characters. New story. It's going to be really fun. We think it's going to be emotional. We're so excited about what we have on our hands right now, the 119 pages we have on our hands. And we're just getting ready to shoot it.”
I think Goddard is itching to direct a superhero film since his Sinister Six film was scrapped. While I didn't agree with the way Sony was going about it, the story sounded bat**** crazy, which is appropriate for Deadpool. His work on Daredvil and Angel was great, not to mention Cabin in the woods being awesome. I'd love for him to be the guy behind X-force and would much prefer him over Kinberg for the next X-Men film.
Goddard on the next X-Men film would be a dream. Especially since all the directors that fans seemed to want that were either Fox-friendly or Singer-friendly (Vaughn, Reeves, McQuarrie) are occupied with their own big projects. Maybe he'd be willing to push back that film that just got picked up by Fox? But he might also just want to work on his original projects.
Carnahan would be a better fit for X-Force if Leitch doesn't return as well.
If there's anything to pick up from Fox's recent successes, it's that character is everything and I hope DP2 continues that trend. Really dig deep into Wade as well as Neena, Nate, NTW and Piotr. I do think it'd be cool if Black Tom Cassidy and Juggernaut were the villains though - have them want Wade's healing factor like in the comics.
I'd rather have Joe Carnahan direct his own script on X-Force. He's a better fit for a hard-boiled superhero project.
Goddard would be an interesting pick for Gambit instead.
Yes and yes!Agree on Carnahan, let him direct X-Force. I wonder if they are eyeing Goddard for Deadpool 3 and this is why he is consulting on the sequel.
Personally though i would love Goddard to direct the next main team X-Men movie. Kinberg isn't confirmed yet, and hopefully Fox see sense and give the next movie to a real director with talent.

I'm cool with Brad Pitt as Cable but my question is would he come back for a X-Force film and if so would he do a sequel if the first one is successful. Bottom line would a star of his caliber commit to a multi-picture deal?
Whoever gets cast knows that he's in for at least two movies: Deadpool 2 and X-Force.
