Deadpool 2 Deadpool 2 News and Discussion

The marketing campaign for the first Deadpool kicked off when they started filming.

Could go either way on the sequel. I think that we'll get an official first look at Cable and Domino before they start filming just to make sure that people will get to see what they look like before low-quality pap set-pics of them pop up online.

But I think the marketing is going to be a bit more subdued this time while filming. They can now. They don't have to push that much for the general audience to get interested in Deadpool. People are already anticipating this sequel.

I hope they will reveal the official title soon. Back when Tim Miller was on board he wasn't planning to call it Deadpool 2. Who knows if those plans have changed now, too, now that David Leitch is at the helm. I always thought that The Deadpool Sequel would have been a good title. But hey, Warner Bros. has already used that idea for the next LEGO Movie.

kutsuna may be armor, shes brought back in xmen blue 4

She never went anywhere. The one who came back in Blue was the Ultimate version. But just given how Fox and Marvel don't really collaborate on movies I wouldn't take it as an indication either way.

I thought we all liked "Deadpool and Cable"

Deadpool & Cable would be a cool title!

I'd also like Cable & Deadpool, like the comic series, but that seems highly unlikely.

Gonna be really disappointed when they announce who's playing Juggernaut and it's not Vinny Jones...

Then I'll get over it.

If Cable is involved they definitely need a bigger villain than Black Tom.

Yeah, the hero side of things are pretty powerful with Cable, Deadpool, Domino, Colossus, NTW and likely a few more showing up.

There's gonna have to be quite a few villains or a major threat. I'm sure Cable will start as an adversary for Wade but still seems like there should be something else on a grander scale motivating his inclusion here even if it's just background for now.

Curious which side Copycat will be on.

I hope Vanessa is not a mutant. No need to reduce the number of non mutant characters. They were great in the first film. Don't want that dynamic to change.

Yup. Agreed.

If the writers can find a way not to have the usual Girlfriend story beats only with a bad mouth then I'd say go for it. They would have to take the relationship in a very unique way.

But with all these power players and with her being the damsel in the last film I think I'd rather see her be able to hold her own physically and not fall into the typical girlfriend trope. Allows for her to be more part of the narrative and for the writers to do something that other's films don't with love interests that can cause complications.

That's what I always liked about Deadpools relationships, they could hold their own in battle and were not just being held captive or only there when he gets home.

Love Machine's shooting at Hatley Castle. For one day only but I love that they keep the continuity.

Getting exterior shots I guess. Stefan isn't even Montreal yet, but good to see cameras rolling.

She already has a unique relationship with Wade in the first. She was well received. As we saw in the first film, she does not need powers to be part of the narrative or plot. In this film she can help out and be more involved without punching people or being a damsel. They may as well make Weasel, the Taxi driver and the Blind lady mutants then.

I like the mutant to non mutant balance established in the first.

Why are you even comparing Dopinder, Blind Al and Weasel to Copycat? A character who is a known mutant? It makes perfect sense with her cause that's her actual source! This would be more equivalent to saying if there was a first entry in a Batman movie where Selina Kyle wasn't Catwoman "yet" then she shouldn't be a superhero or super villain cause you just like that she's not a superhero.

For me it doesn't matter which way they go as long as they treat her well, and don't make her go to a typical girlfriend formula since the heavy stuff was just fleshed out in Wades Origin. That relationship was the heart of the film, but she was still the damsel in Deadpool 1 by the last act. Otherwise she would not fit anywhere else since she can't fight Ajax or Angel without a move where they are distracted. Which would be quickly followed up to her getting knocked out like we saw in the film. I don't want to see that repeated.

Rhett said this...

We did toy with [the idea], you know, but again, there was so much for the audience... We’re introducing a new character to the world, and so we didn’t want to muddy the waters with, ‘Wait a second, she’s also a mutant?’ So hopefully, we’ll see what happens if we’re afforded the opportunity to move forward on this world. It’s something that would probably be worth exploring at some point.

...and I'd agree. It would have been too much in the first film and did not need it. As an added bonus it's actually comic accurate for Wade not to know at this point. So neither should us the audience. It's not about that. If the same applies in Deadpool 2 and it won't fit here then so be it.

So we'll see. But I don't agree that she needs to stay human, and I have yet to see a good argument. Lets not make her an ass kicker that can hold their own against the other big guns? Or and add complications we have not seen explored in the genre in regards to relationships? I think alot can be done there.

Fair enough, we shall see.

I still don't feel she has to be a kickass mutant to be relevant in these films. Pepper in Iron man 1 and even Gwen in the Amazing spiderman 1 and 2 were pretty useful in defeating the bad guys in their films. They did not need to be kick ass. Its one of the main reasons why that super Pepper defeating the Mandarin in Iron man 3 was so distracting and forced. I wonder if they will delay her turning still Deadpool 3.

Guess Ryan is already in Montreal (or his stunt double)
