The X-Men appearing in Deadpool 2 sure ain't the ones from Dark Phoenix. Ryan Reynolds calling all the shots and the script not being as good as the original are realistic risks, though. Who knows...

Reynolds calling the shots and X-Men being involved are not exactly new info. That twitter poster doesn't even seem confident in what they know about X-Men.

Still call nonsense on these rumors. We've seen this happen all the time as of recent where someone just happens to know 'someone' else with insider information. How can X-Men from Teen Spirit, which turned out to be Dark Phoenix, suddenly be in Deadpool 2 without that being a big spoiler that Cable would play a part? And then for them to backpedal and say 'Oh, I meant to say New Mutants' and not Dark Phoenix?

You'd think someone reporting such information would at least research to back up their claims and not just go by a film's code-name when the official title has been revealed by now.

Have no idea except that she is said to be a key character in the film. I was thinking Armor for awhile.

If New Mutant characters are in this would be nice to see Colossus with his Sister. There were other rumors that got shut down quick with Sunspot being in an end credit scene. But yeah, all this just seems like stuff we have already known tbh just a different spin on it.

I will not be surprised if that 80 million budget is true. I knew FOX would intentionally not go very big with this. It also gives Deadpool more material to call out the cheapness of the studio.

Eh, I can see it go to at least 97M. Plus, why would they care about being able to make jokes about the studio? Whatever restrictions they have are self-imposed at this point.

80M should be enough to get the job done though. Both Leitch and Stahelski have made great action films for 30-40M. It'll be cool to see what he gets done with almost twice that budget.

Its strange though as Deadpool 1 made more money than any X-Men movie and yet X-Men movies (which seem to be in decline B.O. wise) are being given nearly 200 million budgets... it doesn't make FOX look good.

The flagship films require those budgets for visual effects though. DP and its sequel doesn't really require extravagant visual effects. (X-Force maybe, if they go to Matrix Reloaded levels of scale)

Should they tone down the budget towards like, 160/165/185M like FC/Doctor Strange/Spider-Man Homecoming? Maybe. But cheapening out on the films that require bigger VFX isn't the way to go either. That's an easily scrutinized decision too.

Unlike Deapdool 1 we don't know the script here though. That film could have used a bigger budget as many were working out of their own pocket and had to cut corners to get it made. We still deal with big set pieces (freeway chase, hellecarrier), CGI characters (Colossus), and heavy effects throughout. They made the film feel like it was more in the 100-150m range, but there were also budget cuts early on with characters being cut down or replaced with less heavy cgi ones.

A Logan or Wolverine sized budget for a film featuring Deadpool, Cable, Domino, Colossus, NTW amongst others doesn't seem crazy to me and I'm sure they could get that if they want. I just wouldn't go by some twitter poster who seems confused by their own words. We just know too little.

Yeah, pretty sure the person misinterpreted new mutants appearing as "Mutants from other movies that are filming right now" and not brand new characters introduced into the world.

I just want Deadpool I really don't need X-Men being involved. I didn't mind Colossus in the 1st one because he sucked in every other movie appearance and I didn't know who the girl was before the movie. I would prefer Deadpool, Cable and maybe 1-2 X-Men popping up.

Oh turns out he did talk about Cable at D23. Talks a bit about how Cable can be funny too. That'll be exciting to see.

Yeah, he's trying to be vague but much like Domino and Wolverine the serious/tough as nails attitude contrasts well to Wade and allows for some good humor.

I have a feeling people are gonna read this the wrong way like Cable's gonna be a comedian or some ****.

I'd be more than mildly disappointed if Cable were just gruff and without a sense of humor. He's plenty humorous in comics, and Brolin can play both sides of a character like that well.

Reynolds first discovered Deadpool through the Cable and Deadpool books. So I think it's safe to say that's gonna have some influence.
