Not on RT, so far its 11 and 0 at the very nice to look at 100%, it will no doubt not stay that way but its great to see a positive start, its good to see this film has something good about it, I was not sure what to expect when this project started after all this time.

Showing Deadpool explicitly cutting and shooting down bad guys, like on those "PG-13 comics" (the content is rated WAY differently in comics, but let's follow you on this one for a moment) would've had to be toned down had the movie been PG-13.

You know, all those wonderfully bloody panels of him killing people or hilariously gory scenes in which his regenerative powers are most needed.

And that's all I have to say on this. You have your own opinion and that's fine. But don't try to sell it as a fact, stating that they got the character wrong and TURNED him into an R-rated one.

My opinion in this case happens to be fact. Up until the Quesada/Jemas editorial regime, Deadpool comics were CCA approved all ages comics. If you know anything about Marvel in the before the Quesada/Jemas regime took over, you would know that they were very strict on the content in their comics (even more strict then the CCA). So they took great strides to depict gruesome violent action scenes in less gory and graphic manner WITHOUT sugarcoating or lessening the point of the story.

And I assure you that there are very few (if any) "wonderfully bloody panels of him killing people or hilariously gory scenes in which his regenerative powers are most needed" from any CCA approved PRE Quesada/Jemas DP comics.

No one who's seen Deadpool so far has seen *all* of Deadpool. There's a second coda that won't arrive 'til the movie screens in theaters...
:hmm

Are people seriously saying a film conceptualized as R rated should be watered down for kids? I am so happy the people who made Blade in the late 90's and started the 3rd Comic Book Film boom didn't buy into that crap.

I loved the first 2 BLADE movies (the 3rd movie was garbage). I loved that those movies were rated R and the few scenes of those movies that had gory graphic violence and profanity. That all being said, there is something that should be pointed out about those movies. Those movies, unlike the DP movie, were NOT hard R rated movies. Most of the violence in those movies wasn't all that graphic and gory. Hell, most of the vampires in those movies turned to ash when they were killed. If they toned down or edited out the blood/gore and some of the language, those movies could have easily been rated PG-13.

THE MOVIE IS RATED R. Aint nothing anyone can do about it. Fan screenings were good, early reviews are good...lets move on till after box office.

I think you are mis-remembering a lot of Blade and Blade 2.

Loving these reviews!

The very first screening of DP had Tim or Rob or Ryan or someone mentioning that they left the another post-credits sequence out of the film, and has stayed that way throughout these press and fan screenings until the movie is officially released. So not even the critics who've released their reviews have seen it apparently. Which is really exciting.

But yeah, Hugh's been talking to Ryan an awful lot on Twitter. Probably not for anything, but it does get the fan's imagination working. Or if there's a stinger for Apocalypse or another X-Men film etc. Hopefully, it'll be exciting.

Yeah, Reynolds was also in Australia in his scar makeup with Jackman present.

While I'm sure there will be some sort of Wolverine/Jackman trash talking, it would be awesome to see both on screen and in character.

Oh, that is very interesting. For a moment I read that as Ryan was promoting in Australia with the makeup and coincidentally was with Hugh, but now that I think about it...

That was the fairly recent video of Ryan in the scar makeup right? On Twitter? Hugh has been working to get into Wolverine shape so it would make sense for them to get in a stinger late in the game. Fox doesn't go ahead and cast things secretly like Marvel, so I don't think we would get anything from a future film.

Glad to see positive early reviews. I thought it'd be much more polarising tbh. But it seems most people are judging it on its own merits and are respecting the sheer balls of it.

To be fair, several of these positive reviews are more of a barely passable than a best movie ever. Metacritic isn't being quite as kind (65 last I checked).

Definitely sounds like a solid movie, though.

Well, to be fair, the average rating from all the reviews is currently 8.3 on RT.

Different reviews are counted between the two sites. There's one pretty terrible one on Metacritic, actually. It would be rotten on RT if counted.

This was never going to be a film with a high Metacritic score, though. The type of humor just isn't going to get many 10/10 reviews. It'll get plenty of 6's, 7's, and 8's though.
