Deadpool Deadpool News and Discussion - Part 4

These all sound great, can't wait to see them. I remember at one point there was talk of a directors cut coming out, is that not the case now?

T.J. Miller said in an interview that there would be a Director's Cut coming out; Director Tim Miller then denied the rumor, saying that "T.J. talks some s**t sometimes, and that he's happy with the theatrical cut."

Ha Those are all brilliant!
I didn't see it yet, but I remember it from the script and loved how grim it got. So you think it wouldn't have fit into the movie?

I've got no problems with any of the cuts, by the way. I thought the theatrical cut of Deadpool had a perfect flow.

...and that's the thing. I don't think this scene would have helped the flow of the film. I didn't need this scene to convince me why Wade goes to the workshop anymore then what's there, it works great without it. Still very cool to see.

Yeah, don't think there was anything beyond what TJ said.

Oh... no, no, no, no, no. I'm watching the Deadpool Extras, and Miller talks about how Deadpool has multiple personalities, and they couldn't do it in the Movie, but wants to look into it, maybe for a sequel. No. Just no. I hope he doesn't do it. The less Daniel Way stuff makes it into the Movies, the better. I want a rich supporting cast, and no idiotic multiple personalities.

Deleted Scenes

Prison:The Raft-
Officers bring in Ajax on a boat and unhand cuff him.

Cancer World Tour-
Opens on a medic clinic in Guadalajara. Deadpool VO "The Cancer research center of ...I'm just ****ing with you". Wade and Nessa are sitting in a waiting room talking to an older couple. The older man goes into the doctor and the doc fakes ripping out the old mans tumor. Wade waits for the Doctor, chases him down and kills him. Wade runs and Nessa looks for him in the city. Wade then takes out the card for the workshop.

Extended Freeway-
This is an extended scene of Deadpools encounter with NTW and Colossus. New moments include Deadpool referring to NTW as a trainee at a restaurant. He ask's her what her power is, and she says "I can see the future". Deadpool laughs and she puts her hand to her head like Prof X in kind of a joking fashion and says "You're about to say something stupid". Deadpool gets frustrated, tries to say something and yells "get out of my head". Other moments include Deadpool mocking Colossus in a Russain accent, stealing a dead dudes wallet, stealing some ray bans and making a Green lantern joke.

Extended Workshop Fight-

Morgue-
After following Nessa Wade gets hit by a bus. He wakes up in the morgue and flops off the table in a body bag.

5 Year Montage-
This is online

No5 Bathroom-
This is in the strip club where Nessa is working. Wade is in the bathroom looking in the mirror and motivating himself to talk to her. A dude hands him a towel and Wade cracks a joke.

Extended Angel/NTW Fight-
NTW sees Colossus passed out. She sees Ange Dust on the ground, approaches and Angel grabs her leg. Angel holds her down and there's one punch by NTW before NTW creates the explosion we see in the film.

Extended Rubble Pile Gratuitous Worth it-
After Ajax is shot and Deadpool is talking to Colossus about how he should talk to Nessa she comes in and shoots Ajax's dead body twice.

Alt Coda-
Pretty much the same stinger talking about Cable except the boom mic keeps getting in Deadpool's face.
Wow some of those sound really interesting!

Thanks for sharing! :yay:

No problem

If they ever did do the voices I doubt it would be something that stays. I agree though, never had an interest in seeing that on screen. This team knows how to make things work though.

Interesting, thanks. It certainly doesn't rule out the possibility of us getting one.

It's been repeated over and over again that the theatrical cut is the Director's cut, and that he doesn't intend on bringing out another one.

If we ever got something longer, it'd be Fox milking the cow, not Miller wanting to go back and release a version he couldn't.

Not sure if it's an inside joke between the two or if it's actually Nathan Fillion, but Reynolds has been mentioning him in the deleted scene "No5 Bathroom".

Towel, sir?

I didn't recognize him at all if that was him.

Ryan did mention during the Blu-ray release Q&A session (that was moderated by Salt-N-Pepa) that his favorite moments in the suit (besides like crying when he first saw it) were when he visited kids in hospitals. Even though the suit had like, weapons or whatever so he technically couldn't wear it in the hospital, visiting kids who wanted to meet Deadpool was something that meant a lot to him. It's great to see Deadpool resonate with people, and even greater than Ryan understands how people look to him as a hero and role model and that he makes use of it to help people out for the better.

I have a request: I want people to tell me why they think Deadpool is worth seeing/including/(eventually) buying as part of the larger FOX X-franchise, keeping in mind that it came across to me as one of those horrible "spoof movies" (like Vampires Suck, The Starving Games, etc.) and consequently doesn't seem like it would add anything particularly relevant to the overall pre-existing and 16-year-strong FOX X-franchise.

I think they should keep Deadpool separate. When he comes in, the entire mood of a scene changes. It is okay for him to stay in the same universe, but he is the odd one out in a scene with the X-Men.

^ Deadpool ISN'T separate from the rest of the franchise, though... hence why I want people who are interested in the character and the film to tell me why I shouldn't just ignore his film and pretend that it doesn't exist.

Nah I know it isn't separate. I just mean keep him away XMEN movies. He changes the tone drastically.

You're not answering the question I'm asking, though, and injecting stuff into the conversation that has nothing to do with what I'm actually wanting people to do.

Convince me - as someone who has no desire to see Deadpool, buy the blu-ray release, or acknowledge's the film's existence as part of the X-franchise at all - why I should change my mind.

Its nothing like those cheap, tacky spoof films. It pokes fun at things, yeah sure, but at the same time it gives us two new great X-Men characters in Colossus and NTW (proper, Russian, Colossus at that) so it adds three great new characters to the franchise and actually shows a great deal of respect for the X-World at the same time (some might even say its the best interpretation so far in terms of character and outfits for some) and paves the way for X-Force further down the line.

Trust me I cant stand those spoof movies and it was what I feared going in that DP would turn out being, but its nothing like that to me anyway.

Can you elaborate some more (even if it involves spoilers)?

On which part in particular, bare in mind this is the first film of a new series/character so its overall relevance wont be known until further down the line, yeah this story is a very personal and self-contained origins story so it doesnt necessarily feed into the bigger X-Universe, yet.

BUT it will lead into and allow for Cable to come into the X-World which is potentially massive for more than just X-Force but also potential time travelling possibilities.

^ Sorry for not being more specific, but can you elaborate on how it "actually shows a great deal of respect for the X-world", especially in relation to what's come before?
