Deadpool Deadpool News and Discussion - Part 4

You really think Reynolds and his team made the movie alone and Fox didn't say anything. You know, if Fox wanted to f*** , nothing would stop them (small budget or not).
Look Hitman 2015, 35 million budget, bad movie.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick

You read right, they praise Simon Kingerg, the devil, the hack, the bad, the awful.
It 's easy to bash Fox/Kinberg because when you don't like someone, it is difficult to say he mades some great things. Much better to say it was a accident ...

Finally! Someone who shares this POV.

People need to get off Fox and Kinberg. They did greenlight and work on the movie.

Kinberg is a fine producer. People just seem to conflate him as a producer vs a writer.

Yeah, big difference between Kinberg the writer and Kinberg the Producer.

Yeah, and online fans usually aren't able to differentiate people from some projects they hate, unfortunately.

So if someone has been involved with some projects (especially adaptations) they don't like, he or she is automatically an ***hole and a hack (despite having very solid credits such as X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Martian or Deadpool under his belt).

An even funnier situation is when they turn on people they once loved, like Sam Raimi after he did Spider-Man 3, Christopher Nolan with The Dark Knight Rises, and many more...

The Batman V Superman boards went from "Zack Snyder is a God" after costumes were revealed to "Zack Snyder must die" in a heartbeat.

Umm, I think there is still "debate" going about Snyder...

But I think he is an asset in the production of a movie. Unless your director suddenly doesn't want to work in Hollywood anymore...

Deadpool, to me, is by far THE best comic book movie of 2016.

I'm on the Anson Mount train regarding Cable for the sequel now.

Just watched it...had it since it hit Blu but hadn't watched it...still love it.

It was a long time for me too between buying it and actually getting round to watching it and now I have watched it twice in the space of a week and could happily sit through it again. A good sign that the film will be highly rewatchable going forward.

Me and the missus watched this again last night. Really holds up well and I almost forgot how well it works as a romantic movie. Too many comic book movies have really sterile romances. There is no spunk or spark or sexuality. Deadpool absolutely nails that aspect whilst also being quite heart warming. Deadpool would be loathsome if it wasn't for his devotion to Vanessa and his insecurities.

Agreed. I loved their relationship and romance, and that was probably the last thing I was expecting going into this film.

I agree 100%. Especially since I remember thinking that it was the aspect of the leaked script (from 2010) which was the most lacking. Wade's past, his relationship with Vanessa and Vanessa herself is probably what they improved upon the most since that leaked first draft.

Kudos to Tim Miller and the creative team for seeing how important it was that the heart of the story worked.

Well considering how this year is playing out for CBM's I'm glad Deadpool was out the gate first and got such a good reception. I'd be nervous now if it was being released last this year, lol.

This movie has a ridiculous rewatchability factor. I've had the Blu-Ray since it came out, and I've sat down to watch the film several times this Summer. I love this movie. :)

I'm going to say that Civil War is my favorite CBM this year, but Deadpool is a very close second! I honestly don't know a single person in real life who saw this movie and disliked it. In fact, a lot of my friends not only prefer this to other CBMs this year, but I've heard them say that it's the best overall movie they've seen this year, period.

Some brief words by Kinberg on Deadpool 2.

I think Deadpool 2 will comment on anything that's happening in movies today, especially in superhero movies," producer Simon Kinberg said at the TCAs this year. The producer said it will specifically address "the sort of glut or saturation of these movies and the proliferation of sequels." Yes, in a superhero sequel they'll be addressing the overabundance of superhero sequels, like only Deadpool can.

Kinberg also said that Cable hasn't been cast yet, and that the Gambit delays are partially due to trying to "find a very special and unique tone." He does say they're "really close right now" to a script on Gambit.

Possible sequel casting...

Jeff Sneider dropped two names that MIGHT be in the running to play Cable and Domino.

Kyle Chandler. Mackenzie Davis.

(He also mentions that Domino will be a real scene-stealer in the sequel)

Sneider was also onto Fox looking for a Psylocke in Apocalypse before Munnlocke was cast, so he could be onto something there.

Chandler and Davis are both good choices. Chandler in particular has got the chops and the awards, can't believe he didn't cross my mind for a Cable choice. Mayimbe also said awhile back that Miller had someone in mind for Cable that no one had mentioned yet, and Chandler would fit the bill for sure.

thats an interesting casting he is older but also not too old at 50 and can do several installments and he is 6'1 plus he is a good actor

i just never seen him in a big bad ass role before he has that nice guy aura a kevin costner has

Can't say Chandler is one guy who crossed my mind, but at least he looks like he could be related to Tye Sheridan lol

Good shout on Chandler, he's good at playing the moral center, would be a good counter to Renolds zany. Was great in Wolf of Wall Street.

Dont know much about Davis but we shall see what happens.
