Deadpool Deadpool Spin-off Confirmed - Part 2

It's just annoying. R or PG13. It's gonna get a 15 rating here anyway.

The Jane Punisher movie is VERY under-rated, even now I can watch it and still enjoy, War Zone was a joke, Jane should definitely have gotten another shot as Frank.

So should have writer/director Jonathan Hensleigh. I thought he did a wonderful job with The Punisher.

The Duggan run is easily the most gory. All your examples have been for violence so I don't think I'm mistaking anything. I've read the Kelly and Nicieza runs many times, and there are very little things that would need to be cut out that would make the character suffer. Fabian himself just posted on the matter.
But they are there, and they help round out the stories. Details matter. ;)

If I wasn't following this project and the film makers for so long maybe I would agree more. I have full trust in the team they have. They themselves wanted it R, if they wrote a PG-13 script they thought still did justice to their vision. I'd have no issue.

I thought Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick's 2010 draft of the script was good, but left lots of space for improvement, especially regarding character development and other minor quibbles. Them licking corporate butt and watering down the script is definitely a step in the wrong direction, and not too trustworthy.

Hyperbole. Nothing is confirmed either. This team deserves alot more respect for sticking to the project this long. They don't wanna make a bad Deadpool movie.

Agreed, damn shame we didnt get to see their sequel, I thought he did a good job with The Punisher considering it was his 1st directorial effort.

We're talking about watered down, in fact. Which the movie is going to be with a PG-13 rating. And let's hope it's just rumors and that they won't film with the restrictions of the lower rating, and actually use blood squibs, etc.

Yup, mate. Word. Ahhh, I gotta rewatch The Punisher. It's been a while.

I just read the 2010 draft of the script. Was anyone else disappointed?

I mean, Deadpool's characterization and dialogue was on point (as was the soundtrack), but everything else felt like a movie written in 2004 (in terms of action, stakes, and butchering of other characters).

I was also disappointed with the origin having nothing to do with Weapon X.

Punisher '04 is awesome. Anyone who liked that should see Kill the Irishman, also by Hensleigh.

I gotta agree on Punisher being awesome, probably the most underrated CBM.

I liked Punisher when I first saw it. But after a few rewatch, I enjoyed it less.

I know Baruchel gets thrown around for Weasel tonight, but how would anyone feel about Charlie Day?

them saying we don't know if it will be R or PG13 pretty much says we are trying to make it PG13 since surely they would rather make it an R rather then say we haven't work it out yet

i'd say 90% chance it will be an PG13, They may try and talk FOX round but that will be a tough one

I have to say I am really excited for this movie because not only do I think it will be original and different, but it also gives them a chance to introduce new X-Men that are not mainstream characters. Also since this comes before Apocalypse the wait is less long. Between this, the rogue cut and the viral campaigns I am sure we will have enough to talk about before Apocalypse is in theatres. ;)

X-M:A is just a few months away from filming. Given that, we should probably be even closer to hearing info about this, right?

Should be soon, but I'd think X-Men would get a start before since the production, FX and cast will be so much larger and take more effort to get into place. They will definitely need plenty of more time in post then Deadpool.

Since it's smaller budget like The Wolverine I'd say they will give it about the same time. So probably will start production somewhere like 11 or 13 months ahead of the release date.

He'd be a cool choice too.

Love Charlie Day. He'd be great. Man, I'm stoked to start hearing casting.

Yeah, I'm really curious on who they cast as Nessa.

Reynolds seemed to get along really good with Anna Kendrick and Gemma Arterton on The Voices, so hoping he could get one of those two for the project.

“There’s definitely a sort of overall plan that we’ve all been talking about for the X-Men universe now,” Kinberg explained, “and Deadpool obviously fits into that. So yeah, I guess I would say it's part of certainly an overall timeline and thought process that goes into these films, some of which is inspired by the comics and some which is inspired by seeing what Marvel’s done with telling a larger tapestry and linking all those movies together, even as they stand independently as well. The same kind of thought is going to go into these X-Men movies at Fox.”

Why would he be seperated.
Created in Weapon X program, member of X-Force, worked with Cable, ...

Interesting, I wonder how Fox managed to get the Deadpool franchise connected into the X-Men one, I would have thought that Marvel would not have been willing to allow that without trying to renegotiate the bad deal they made over the X-Men franchise.

(Although for a while Fox claimed that the Fantastic Four film was going to be connected to the X-Men film universe too, until they realised the contracts didn't give them the right).

I am extremely interested in seeing how this plays out. Is this another FF situation in which Kinberg (and Millar) tease a crossover and then quickly back down?

I'm pretty sure that Deadpool can crossover with the X:Men onscreen - after all, it happened already (sorta) in XMO:W. But Deadpool's rights were at New Line a decade after Marvel and FOX signed their 1993 agreement, and Gregory Ellwood on HitFix speculated last year that the rights were closing in on the reversion date. They character families may be under two separate contracts.

I'd like to see Deadpool onscreen with the X:Men, but it may bring about some additional conflict between Marvel and FOX.
