Deadpool Deadpool Spin-off Confirmed - Part 2

Nah that's unnecessary and will waste money like the CGI Green Lantern Suit

If anything just mo-cap the facial expressions on the mask. Not the whole suit.

Liefeld has been tweeting and said that test footage was PG-13 and that a PG-13 film was the one that was under review. He added that the comics are PG-13 and they can still add 'truckloads of violence' without making it R

Well, he's a ******... Gave him lots of examples of the contrary and he ignored me again and again.

His face was so emotive thanks to the CGI, despite the mask. And I don't think there's any way to do the white eyes in live-action

Wouldn't surprise me if they get pushed into doing a pg-13 with him tbh

There's plenty of ways.

Wait....so let me get this right. This film was going the way of PG-13 for the past 2-3 years, when we have been hearing constantly from Donner and crew that "Deadpool needs to be R" and the studio has issues with that. The R rating has been the whole reason and excuse on why this has not been green lit. If they were going PG-13 all this time, then there should have been zero hold up.

Something doesn't add up.

They only ways we've seen are sonar lights in a cowl

But how many crazier things have we seen besides white eyes? It's not that tough for a professional prop company to rig. It's no more difficult imo then say getting Spidey's eyes right.

His mask is described that way in the script, it really needs that or else it will look off.

Kick-Ass2 made it's money back, it did fine. And will continue to make cash on Blu Ray/PPV. Much like the first. Kick Ass 2 wasn't gonna change Fox's decision in Deadpool anyways. Kick Ass 1 should have if anything, that got a sequel.

Yeah, there were rumors about the trailer/footage during Comic Con. But I believe they were coming from an extremely shakey source who also said Michael Biehn was gonna be announced as Cable and Reynolds was no longer attached. The site it originated from kept having different Deadpool rumors every week.

Once again, it wasn't as much Kick-Ass two not doing well as it was Ryan Reynolds not doing well. If Ryan Reynolds was a successful Box Office actor a deadpool movie would have been made already.

No way. They could have recasted if that was the case. Reynolds was getting cast in tons of films and still is during the past 5 years this thing was allegedly supposed to happen, which was before Lantern and RIPD. Both those were larger producitons then Deadpool. Heck, Safe House is a bigger production.

They didn't move forward and he took other roles.

Why would they want to recast when they could simply not make the movie? It's not an essential film in the X-Men franchise, Deadpool is not that huge a character to warrant huge need for greenlighting, and it has more risk than merit. Reynolds has been getting cast in movies, but not in bigger, medium budgeted Rated movies featuring character that's merely a cult favorite by comic book goers. Like I said a few pages ago, Reynolds had several flops and bombs, including Green Lantern, The Change-Up, Turbo, and R.I.P.D. He's not the box office draw that Hollywood would thought he would become.

Also, let's not act like Ryan Reynolds was the main draw for Safe House.

Cause your saying the reason is Reynolds. If Fox actually believed in the property they would have made it with or without him. He's not the reason this hasn't been made already. And I completely disagree that Deadpool is not popular, Deadpool is actually one of the most popular Marvel characters in general right now. And easily the most popular without a film and worthy of one. He's way beyond cult status.

I know he's not the main draw in Safe House but that definitley got him more credibility with audiences at the time. He was very popular among studios and audiences when Deadpool was supposed to happen. Which is a smaller budgeted film. None of those films you mentioned were out at the time.

I never said Reynolds was the only reason, but it's clear he is a reason as he is box office poison.

They were films that were made after Deadpool was supposed to be greenlit though. That's the main thing here. They could have said no to Reynolds or the project anytime post Lantern and RIPD. But they have not.

They are holding on to the film and Reynolds for a reason. Whatever it may be.

it's strange that Fox are getting them then down
At first I would have agreed with you, but me and a bud were discussing this yesterday. It makes a bit of sense from a hype standpoint, the footage leaks for about 6 hours, people get buzzed, it goes down, then it pops up again while people furiously google search and tweet, then people drop what they're doing to watch it in fear of it going down again, then boom a HQ version pops up in some venues and more and more people are talking. People keep re-uploading it it as it gets taken down and thus people rush to see it again and drop whatever they're doing. Since they don't know when it'll go down again, there's less of a chance in procrastinating with it. Just my 0.02.

Am I the only one who noticed that they used Michael Kamen's score from the Lethal Weapon movies ( I don't remember which one this exact clip is from, I think part three) in the test footage? Perfectly fitting. I always thought Lethal Weapon would be a good movie to look up to while making Deadpool, for how you can juggle the comedy, thrills and drama.
