Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool & Wolverine Spoiler Thread

The X-men aren't forgotten by 2029, they are mentioned on a news report which states that the Westchester incident happened "over a year ago", and during which time several X-men were killed. So the Westchester incident happened late 2027 or early 2028, and is when the X-men were disbanded.

I don’t mind this, but then, that would mean there are now two Wolverines and two Lauras in this universe.

Loved this even more on the second viewing.
Same, I think going in this time knowing its more of a love letter and "goodbye" to the Fox-verse and less of a "Deadpool saves the MCU" made me appreciate it more second time round and picked up on a lot more in jokes I missed the first time. The action is a step up from the previous two films for certain as well and everything with Hugh and Ryan on screen is gold which is 90% of the film.

True, but I doubt the extra Logan and Laura will be sticking around permanently. I imagine they'll go off with Deadpool doing TVA stuff around the multiverse that eventually gets them mixed up in Secret Wars

That could be cool; the MCU’s own Exiles.

Something else that I thought of. You know who would have been the cherry on top if he was in the group with Blade and Elektra, etc.?

I really want Nicholas Cage as Ghost Rider in the Mcu! I've seen those 2 movies in the cinemas!

Nah if anything this film makes me wish that instead of “no more mutants” Wanda can say “no more Hugh-verine”.
*Henry Cavill has entered the chat* :o

Maybe i'm being naive but at the end of the movie when Deadpool asks Wolverine "so i guess I'll be seeing ya around?" Jackman gives this sly grin and says "probably not"--I interpreted that as Jackman telling the audience "I'm done for good this time. I came back one last time for you all...but i'm good now."

But who knows! Never say never right? :funny:

And B-15 (the woman from the Loki show) having a moment with Peter....

That is the most hilarious thing to me because that was just so random!!! 🤣 A timeline was almost erased and Peter still got her attention.

"You look good in that suit". Ajsjdjd hysterical and Peter is the most random friend role ever in a CB movie. It doesn't make sense but it works!

Because they don't want to f*** with the movie "Logan", as he says in the beginning. They're not touching that. It's meta, but it's an answer.

Right my point is that if it were a "serious" movie that reason doesn't fly. But it's satire and a Deadpool film so it's ok. I'm making an observation not a criticism.

EDIT: maybe satire isn't the correct word. But simply a Deadpool film is enough excuse.

Also after seeing the movie Twice. I paid attention to the montage and credits

-Dark Phoenix and the New Mutants were not included
-The table scene from Daredevil, reminded me that Jon Favreau was also on Fox's Daredevil. He was part of that era too.

I really wasn’t expecting to be so over Hugh-verine after this film as I am but I think the camels back has finally broken for me. Going to see the film again later on today hope I like it better now that I know what to expect story wise.

Dafne X23 is from foxverse
I want X23 from 616 with a New actress
But first a MCU Xmovie with the core team Gambit Cyke Wolvy Rogue Iceman Angel Storm Psylocke Cie
And then a sequel movie with New recruit X23 Havok Magik ...

I want the same for Logan/Wolverine, but we can't always get what we want.

I counted the Wolverines Multiverse hopping. There's 8 of them excluding Foxverse

-Shortverine
-Brown and yellow costume
-AOA
-Uncanny X-Men cover homage
-Patch (white suit)
-Cavillrine
-Old Logan that shot Deadpool right away
-Yellow and blue costume (the one that joined Deadpool)

On a positive note seeing AoA Wolverine was cool.

Wesley Snipes was moving like he was animated in stop motion.

Paradox screaming "What the #$*& is happening?!" was pitch perfect timing during it too. Saw the movie twice and both times the audience collectively howled at that line.

And earlier in the movie, in the party, Peter was showing off his piercings that are connected to his belly through a chain. I wonder if he still had those in his Deadpool suit, and I didn't even know he has a Deadpool suit too.

The way they wrote that character is just utterly random.

I don't even know how they pull off Deadpool integrated into the MCU if that's their plan honestly. Deadpool works best when he's making fun of everyone and everything and turning things into a farce and the MCU is at its best in the films that do have some depth and substance where there's a real interesting story and character conflict happening, and not just funny jokes and action scenes. Feels a bit like oil and water trying to bring those two together.

You do what Rick Remender did during his Uncanny X-Force run. Probably one of the few times Deadpool has been actually written with depth, while at the same time not fundamentally changing who he is as a character.

I'm ready to move on with a new Wolverine actor myself. I love Hugh as Logan and he's given us a great quarter of a century in the role but apart from an obligatory appearance in Secret Wars I don't really have a desire to see him as the MCU Wolverine.

It was really something to see a different actor play him even for 10 seconds as a joke. Granted, I'm not a big fan of Cavill and were he to actually play Wolverine it would just be another tall, conventionally handsome actor like Jackman in the role but credit has to be given where it's due: He had the voice down.

Same.

My wife watched the Deadpool films in anticipation of this and knows the MCU, but hadn't seen the other Fox films. When the hooded guy was approaching, she was asking who it was. When we see Chris Evans, I sarcastically say "it's Captain America" as if she didn't know. Then I whispered that it would be funny if he turned out to be Johnny Storm instead...

Anyway, I loved this movie. I didn't expect the meta narrative to be the heart of the story. It's truly a love letter to the films that made Marvel movies possible (the good, the bad, and the ugly). They get one last moment in the sun and it was beautiful.
