Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool & Wolverine Spoiler Thread

They needed more "showing" and not "telling" with Logan's tragic backstory. We're supposed to believe that one day he went on a bender and then "humans" invaded the X-Mansion and took out the entire X-Men? Just like that? Who were these humans and how the Heck did they wipe out the freaking X-men?

I really had a fun time watching this movie. Seeing Jackman put on the cowl was so awesome! Some of the jokes didn't land for me, but overall... I had a good time watching this.

What.A.Ride.This.Was

I kept out of the spoilers and to see my boy Wesley...yeah...i actually geeked out hard LOL my god. The original blade film doesn't get the love it deserves from Marvel fans. i was slightly miffed there was no response to Blade's lines in my showing that was massively packed ,that actually pissed me the **** off but ive got to realise Gen Z don't know what he's about and people who are older should know better and show respect to the film and character that put marvel on the map. Overall it was a run ride, the other cameos had me smiling like a kid but unfortunately the lack of fandom for Blade left a bitter taste in my mouth. I will watch again when theres screenings with less people during the day.

Am i petty for a audience that i don't know or like to ruin my fanboy antics with Blade, yes! Am i mad that ive realised most of these NPC's in the audience are why comic book films don't hit the same anymore, Yes lol Do i need to calm the **** down. Probably yes!

No hype for Elektra, Jonny storm, Gambit and Laura when they came on screen. This is why i HATE how mainstream these films are, all these cameos and scenes of magic dust wasted on minds that have no appreciation for whats being shown on screen. This was a massive nostalgic history lesson. It took me back to the early days of early marvel where i had the VHS of Spiderman, blade, xmen, daredevil and fantastic four. What a era that was.

The biggest laugh I got was Evans revealing to be Johnny Storm and flaming on.

Loved the cameos. Great to see Elektra and Blade.
Honestly that was great! I laughed pretty hard myself.

Liked the movie but not as much as the RT suggests. Felt the cameos were shoehorned in. I wanted more depth and fleshing out for them. The only multiverse film thats gotten this right is in Spiderman NWH. It gave the 4 key legacy character's (2 spideys + 2 villains) a real purpose and depth. In Deadpool 3, every cameo is too fleeting. In X23s case, its even more apparent. She should have been a major part of the story, from the beginning, for her to help Deadpool find Wolverine and try and rekindle their relationship from LOGAN, even though she knows its not the real one. Its a wasted effort imo, this movie gave me more FLASH vibes than NWH. Still a lot better than anything else that Disneys put out.

X2 raid gone terribly wrong for the X-Men? Something akin to X-Men 97's destruction? Not only was it the weakest Wolverine in all of the universes, but the weakest X-Men as well? No idea. They really needed to further explain how that was possible or make it some other force that took them out.

Went in blind and had a pretty great time with the cameos.

BLADE!!! - Loved seeing him. My biggest geek out moment for sure.
Johnny Storm - Awesome seeing a character i like and thankfully it wasn't just another Cap.
Pyro - Another fiery character i really like. Didn't recognize him at first but one he handled the Human Torch i almost got up from my seat and said Pyro!
Gambit - What a moronic character. Thankfully Deadpool was there to roast him. He looked and sounded ridiculous but had some cool stuff going for him with the purple coloring of the cards and some tricks.
Electra - Meh. Didn't do much for me.
Sabertooth - Disposed pretty quickly.
Juggernaut - I like the character but they didn't do much with him.
X-23 - Mixed feelings seeing her again. Loved what she did in Logan and seeing her again was sort of nice but it felt somewhat out of place and underwhelming.

Those are the ones i remember at the top of my head. I gotta say that of all the multiverse movies so far, this one was the one that better executed the whole concept imo. It helps a lot when you have a character like Deadpool in that journey with the audience.

Loved the Thor shoutouts throughout the film. Pretty sure that scene of him crying over Deadpool's body was something new and not just some recycled footage from Thor: TDW even though they sort of look similar.

So in the end the whole thing about Thor was not fully explained right? It seems that Deadpool has a bigger part to play on the sacred timeline and that he might be the one sacrificing himself down the line a la Tony Stark/Iron Man in End Game or that scene could just be and probably is a part of something much bigger to like be addressed in the upcoming Avengers movies.

My understanding is that it is reworked footage from TDW. They edited the eye color and added scars on his eye where Hela attacked him.

Oh that's why it looked different and sort of new. Ok that's intriguing. So it does seem to be an even yet to come from the sacred timeline right?

That's my assumption yeah. On it's own it's can just be taken as just a joke and not nescearily lead to anything but I can see them trying to use this for a future movie like Secret Wars.

Yeh i also wondered if it was made as just a joke but the way Deadpool keeps coming back to it throughout the film i think suggests it's something more substantial to be addressed later on. We know Thor is coming back and to see him interact with Deadpool would be gold and probably break the internet. Also if i'm not mistaken in the comics Deadpool is in awe of Thor and is basically his number 1 fan so that dynamic should be awesome to see.:D Can't wait! :yay:

That beginning credits scene was gold as well. Among the very best in the MCU imo. Not sure if it was Backstreet Boys or what but it sounded like one of those 90’s boys band and it fit so well with how ludicrous that whole situation was with Deadpool and the adamantium skeleton. So funny. :D

Also Avril Lavigne and the Goo Goo Dolls. God bless.

Also if I had a nickle for every time Shawn Levy directed a project whose climax was emotionally driven by a remix of a beloved 80's song, I'd have two nickles. Which isn't much, but it's weird that it's happened twice. :funny:

I also got a good chuckle out of Wade suiting up to "Glamorous" by Fergie.

"Your tailor's a predator."

Of course; I know this is a Deadpool movie after all. I wasn't expecting Oscar-worthy dialogue or real moments of emotional poignancy, but still...it was disappointing none-the-less.

It can still be Deadpool and Wolverine without trampling on the other X-Men characters. It makes me nervous about how Feige & co. will handle non-Wolverine characters moving forward. This was the MCU's first opportunity to play around in the Fox sandbox and instead of doing any course-correction, they doubled-down that Wolverine is/was the only mutant that mattered (and, now, Deadpool too).

Even if Halle, Famke, and James all said 'no' to cameo appearances (which I highly doubt), I still don't think the script choice to make Wolverine seeking redemption for dead X-Men (again) was the way to go.
“The X-men must continuously get crapped on so that Wolverine can go through an arc” must be in Hugh’s contract at this point. This whole the X-men are nothing without Wolverine is a trash take that I’m over the live action films furthering. You could have had a “This guys a failure story” in other ways without crapping on the other X-men characters again.

Apparently they are nothing without the guy with metal claws. He’s the only one that can kill Dark Phoenix, go back in time to save mutant kind, outlive a professor x mental attack, and (sigh) take on regular humans…

I’m still gonna hold out hope we see the FoX-Men in an upcoming movie, whether it be one of the two avenger movies or something else

You don’t put Beast in that marvels post credit scene and not pay it off somehow
I was expecting more past X-Men franchise characters than just Laura, a Gambit that never was (though still amazing to see), Sabretooth, Pyro and a small collection of C/D-list villains but I guess they're probably saving any potential reunion with Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, and James Marsden for Secret Wars.

I think they are teasing the ot cast one by one.

2022- Sir Patrick
2023- Kelsey
2024- Hugh

I'm expecting something from Fantastic 4 2025.

The movie has most pop music for a Marvel film.

Nsync, Madonna, Avril Lavigne, Fergie.

And I'm very familiar with Iris because during the late 90s, MTV played it a lot and those were the days when I was just discovering music.
