Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool & Wolverine Spoiler Thread

Nicepool was....overdone. Needed less screentime. Give half his screentime to another Pool.
I don't think I would have minded it as much if he was played by a different actor entirely but I guess Reynolds had to get some non-deformed face time in there. :o

The Deadpool Corps were my least favorite in the movie. They could have been cut and the pacing in the third act would have been better.

Nicepool really overstayed his welcome, but the 'No Healing Factor' gag was worth it.

Overall, I really did not like this. So much of the charm of the first two movies came from the supporting cast, their interactions with Wade, and the emotional throughlines that came from that. Throwing it all away left Deadpool as a character to fall flat on his own, with only a tired Wolverine arc we've already seen like 3 different times to support him.

That said, Emma Corin and Matthew Macfadyen were delightful, loved everything they were doing. And Jackman brings his A-Game as usual. It just all felt rather forgettable and pointless in the end.

Seeing Jen as Elektra again

I thought Channing Tatum did a great job as Gambit. He nailed the character and his action scenes were on point. I wouldn't mind him being MCU Gambit in all hohonesty.
I absolutely would mind. I think Channing Tatum was fine to play Gambit in a deeply unserious movie like Deadpool because he does his best in comedic roles. But I would not have been able to take him seriously in the MCU or even in the Foxverse. Plus, he's too old and bloated as hell at this point. He looks even less like Gambit now than he did then and imo people need to let it go.

I liked seeing the AOA Wolverine. Oh and I was hoping to see Deadpool's teleporter belt. Maybe the TVA thing could've been a belt clip on or something.

Disagree. I think Channing Tatum as Gambit was genius casting. He not only got the accent down, but he also looked the part.

I think it was deliberately terrible hence the "who's your dialect coach" to show why the movie wasn't made because he was awful
Genius by Reynolds and company

Went Friday and I was grinning from ear to ear throughout the film

Best Cameo was Evans that's how you do bait and switch
followed by Blade he got the biggest reaction
the Wolverine Variants were great as well, I loved Cavill scene but he was massive or the t-shirt was x-small lol
Gambit IMO was terrible but I think that was the goal
Gardner got a good send off
X-23 was wasted I think while the scene with her a Jackman was great they could have done more with her I feel

Cassandra Nova was dope af but of course Marvel has to kill her off

Maybe i'm being naive but at the end of the movie when Deadpool asks Wolverine "so i guess I'll be seeing ya around?" Jackman gives this sly grin and says "probably not"--I interpreted that as Jackman telling the audience "I'm done for good this time. I came back one last time for you all...but i'm good now."

But who knows! Never say never right? :funny:
it was already addressed in the film
Disney will come with a boat load of cash and make him do it until he's 90
judging by the box office they may do actually that lol

So, I ended up seeing this twice already, though not exactly planned.
Originally bought tickets for last Friday, and ended up seeing it last Tuesday at a fan event. I went to the taping of the ETalk interview with Ryan, Hugh, and Sean Levy, and they gave us free passes to see the film early.

I am really glad I first saw it at the event because the crowd was on fire. It was SO fun seeing it with a group like that. So many cheers for the Wolverine variants (my personal favourites being the Brown suit version and the AOA version), so many screams for the cameos.

Overall a very fun film.

Seeing it a second time though, it definitely loses a lot of the appeal once all the surprises have been revealed. I’m not totally sure how much rewatchability this film has, but I guess we will see in time.

Seeing Hugh again though…what a treat. I have a huge affinity for the original films, so anything from those is always welcome in my book.
I only wish this film had cameos from the original X-Men. I thought they were a sure bet and was pretty bummed out that they didn’t pop up. I think they would have made more sense than Elektra, Blade, and especially Gambit. If this film did anything, it was prove that Channing Tatum would NOT have been a good Gambit. I liked his action scenes but holy hell, that accent was AWFUL! His accent and vocal inflections sounded like what Kenan Thompson does for funny characters with accents on SNL.
Elektra was fine. Cool to see her again. Blade was a really nice surprise.
X-23 was awesome, but I wish they didn’t spoil that in a trailer.
I did like seeing all of them, but they did feel like mostly random choices. Hated that they killed them off screen AGAIN! We really could have used some flashback scenes.

I’m hoping to see Famke, Halle, and Marsden pop up in Secret Wars, but I’m not holding my breath.

Overall, a very entertaining flick and I’m really glad it’s doing so well.

Same, I didnt like that big fight, felt like a wasted spot. Should have been Deadpool/Wolverine versus some new underboss villains. Kinda like how Colossus vs Juggernaut was in DP2, a new matchup between 2 iconic characters going head to head.

I agree. This was great as fan service but not great as a movie. It's ironic that it makes fun of the MCU when it has all the same problems with the banal plot and villains.

I think I would just remove the scene and just fast forward to stopping Cassandra Nova. Then I would transfer the "new mask, same task" reveal of the Wolverine, to when he came out of the car in the slow motion scene when they arrived at Cassandra's place. The movie already had a big fight scene in the third act, with Blade, Elektra, X-23 and Gambit. While the two leads already had two to three fight scenes earlier in the movie. I am still confused how that Deadpool Corps fight scene, just ended because Peterpool showed up randomly. It doesn't make sense.

I'm also not sure what was the purpose of Nicepool and Dogpool aside from jokes. Human Torch pretty much gave the gist of the Void.

Because they wanted to hang out with Peter. All Deadpools like Peter, it's a multiversal constant.

That just sounded silly to me. They were stabbing Deadpool/Wolverine and killed Nicepool but the moment, Peter - which is obviously the friend of the person they were fighting with- shows up, the fight was over and they were suddenly in peace and happy mode?

I was expecting a bloated Ryan ala Peter B Parker but seeing Peter, in wacky Deadpool world, it made sense. It's Peter and everyone loves him, he's like a Nexus being.

I think them fighting the Deadpool Corps was a gag at how Marvel movies often end their movies with the main characters fighting a clone of minions - Chitauri army, Ultron bots, etc....only ot was Deadpool!

Lol yeah didn't think about that, it was two birds with one stone of meta humor:

-"Why does the hero always fight a version of himself in MCU Movies??"
-"Who cares about the team fighting a bunch of faceless drones??"
DP&W: "Why not both!"
