The Dark Knight Rises Deadshot

While Deadshot is an interesting character, he's just not really what they call a main antagonist. I think he could carry his own movie, possibly, or possibly with the Scuicide squad. He'd be perfect in that Super Max movie they were talking about, but as a main villain in a Batman movie? No. I think, the way to present him in a batman film is to have him be one of many different things coming at Batman. I mean, he's a hired killer. His motivations kinda lend themselves to him being secondary to somebody else. He's the kinda guy who would be working for guys like, Penguin, Rupert Thorne, Black Mask.

But what do I know. I'd rather have Hugo Strange and the Monster Men.

The monster men? Please tell me about them they sound fasinating.....Also what was the Super Max movie and why they canceled it?

Well, Hugo Strange, being a super scientist and all, had a deal with Maroni, you know, that mob boss Dent killed in DKR in the car? That guy. The Mob would get him vagrants and other mobsters they were warring with for expierements, which was turning them into huge, fugly, horrible beast like creatures, and Strange would in turn, turn these abominations loose on whoever Maroni wanted....you know....wacked. Can be found in an awesome mini called Batman and the Monster Men by Matt Wagner.

But they'd never do that. Not "Realistic" enough.

Think that be campy on film? Anyways what was Super Max gonna be about?

I don't think it would be campy. I don't think it would be campy at all. I mean, gene spliced madmen running around eating people in the streets of Gotham sounds like the opposite of Campy to me.

Green Arrow in prison with a bunch of Super villains. Still in development hell technically.

Exactly Anubis.

Him in prison fightign criminals? Hmmm Die Hard meets Batman Arkyum Asylum? AWESOME!!! Movie needs to get made.:awesome:

Yeah, well, don't hold your breath. The WB are the masters of ass draggin'.

Well as long as the movie ever gets made its cool....Rad now on some website they was gonna have Joker and Lex Luthor make a cameo appearance in the film.....Now thats automatically kickass!

The whole being trapped in a prison full of supervillians is greatness....Having to fight his way through the madness....Die Hard/Batman Arkyum Asylum esque.

Well, I think the way it was presented was, GA was IN prison, as in he did something and was actually in there, either that or he was undercover looking for somebody or something.

I kind of liked the Super Max script. I felt it would have worked well. Like Fresh Prince said Die Hard meets Batman: Arkham Asylum. It would be just an all out action fest and those can be just as much fun as TDK. Face it, for those how have read the script you know there are way too many villians in it to have more then just an shoot'em up action movie. But it would be a lot of fun to watch. Movies like TDK are rare, and I don't expect to many more superhero movies to be on that same level.

deadshot shouldn't be in a nolan movie, maybe something OTT actionwise like Wanted where he can really shine

"the script sucks" does not mean "it should be more like The Dark Knight."

the action was clumsy, the characters were underdeveloped. Im not so naive to say that Green Arrow is simply defined by his costume, gear, and beard, but the Ollie I know and love was completely absent. He was such a blank slate that GA was barely important to the story. The premise promised more of a thriller, and should focus more on his being on the lamb than sitting in a prison. He never really even seemed to be in that much danger. More posturing than actual abuse. The prison was so corny in the way it moved and probably required more budget than a film of this caliber would get.

Perhaps, but let's not forget that he was deemed not to be able to pull off a fully masked character in V, so what are the odds that he could pull off a fully masked character in Deadshot?

If an actors face is fully covered, it's all about using body language and little nuances to express themselves; Purefoy couldnt do that in V for Vendetta for whatever reason, be it his body language or his voice and was replaced by an actor that could in Hugo Weaving.

I didnt know that. Well, strike him off the list of potentials, lol.

You never know though - he may have worked on it since. :D

Seriously though, come to think of it if I was an actor and I lost a role that I had as it was decided I couldnt do it for a particular reason, I'd work on that weak spot.

All this assumes that a movie version of Deadshot would dress like he does in the comics. I can't see his costume working in the live action context, and imagine it would have to be tweaked. Maybe that means his entire head wouldn't be covered.

Also, if anybody is looking for a pretty good Deadshot read I recommend the most recent issue of Secret Six (#15). It came out yesterday and is all Deadshot. It gave an origin story and had a couple of pretty badass Floyd moments. If you're looking for an intro to the character, it might be a good place to start. Then you should go and read every other issue of Secret Six because it's that awesome.

It's not really that much of assumption. I mean, why wouldnt the movie Deadshot have a mask similiar to the one he wears in the comics?

In counterpoint, I'd say that a bigger assumption would be to assume that they would change it when, given the parameters set my Nolan's realism, the utilisation of something resembling Deadpool's comicbook mask (i.e. a tactical mask) makes sense.

Maybe so.

But while I imagine he'd use some kind of targeting device, if we're talking about tactics, then his costume sure as hell wouldn't be bright red, white and yellow. So I think there'd have to be some kind of changes--sort like how Nolan tweaked the look of both the Scarecrow (no hat, no raggedy barnyard-type clothes) and Joker (makeup instead of white skin).

Whether those changes would include a mask that exposes his mouth or eyes is anybody's guess. And since we haven't been given any information about the movie, I guess it's guessing time.

I prefer a Deadshot movie instead of him appearing in a Batman film.
