Was there ever a moment in your life when it dawned upon you that you were truly an adult now?

At different levels, or milestones, yes. When I open a checking accountant, I was still a teen but it was still substantial to me. Getting an apartment with my aunt then later with a boyfriend. But the big one may have been sitting down at settlement in my 20s buying a house. I knew there was no turning back. Oh, noez! :-[

I think it was a gradual experience I can't say that there's one moment when I realized my adulthood.

My wedding. Or, getting ready right before. I had a 'ho s***!' moment.

Moving to the other side of the world by myself.

Keeping a job, which led to getting an apartment and having bills. When I started that job at 21, I still identified with the teenagers. I didn't take my job serious, but somewhere in the almost 7 years at that job I grew up. I became one of the most knowledgeable and reliable employees. Things that are popular in music and fashion just seem so contrived and silly. The perspective of seeing just how temporary something is "in". I have no desire to wear the latest thing, or have the latest haircut because to me it looks dumb and trendy, and that in 5-10 years the whole thing will be dated.

To be frank, the day I "grew up" was 9/11, but the milestone that the topic asks for hasn't happened yet, although my upcoming move from New York to Denver to go to school there may be it. We'll see.

When a friend tells you he's having a baby, and you reply with, "Congratulations man!" instead of "holy s**t dude, wtf happened?"

After I had my first serious bout with depression.

When I said goodbye to my parents after they dropped me off at college.
