The Dark Knight deleted scenes after all?? (spoilers)

theres one new commercial where joker says ''glad you could make it'' so that might be a deleted scene
I saw that commercial too. He said "Oh, you made it. I'm so thrilled". He did say that in the movie at the end when he's on top of the building and Batman shows up.

I also wonder what that footage is off where Batman is fighting someone on top of that roof.

I just remembered another scene from the trailers that wasn't in the film.

The shot of Lucious on some rooftop with some other men. It's most likely when he leaves for or arrives in Hong Kong.

No that's in the movie, it's when he's arriving in Hong-Kong

dont know if anyone mentioned this, but i missed this scene...

the joker in an ordinary car wasnt there.. :(

Didnt nolan say the play (the one in BB where young bruce got scared) was going to be in this movie along time ago?

yah i was looking foward to seeing what the joker was doing in the car.

Sorry if this is mentioned in this thread (to long to read it all): In a norwegian newspaper with an interview of Michael Caine, he said somewhere in the lines of "When i first met Ledger it was on set, he was playing opposite me. He was so scary that I forgot my lines" (or something in those regards). But there were no scenes with those two together in the movie. So if the interview was not bogus, then my guess is it took place at the party Joker crashed?

Would have loved to see the icy-cold and charming Alfred discuss with The Joker.

yeah, i remember him saying that he forgot his lines, but in the movie he doesn't have any lines after the Joker enters the room. maybe he had a few, but they didnt think they were needed in the final cut

As someone mentioned above with Batman running on the cop cars, it was most likely cut to save time due to the situation. Instead of showing him fully leave the Police station running on the cop cars to get to the Bat Pod they just shortened the scene.

The scene we saw in the trailers with Batman leaving the new wannabe Bat cave in the Tumbler was most likely cut because of the running time.

I'm guessing they had a Batman "suits up" scene like they do in all of the Batman films but figured they didn't need to show it yet again. It still would have been cool but it didn't hurt the film in my opinion.

As for that pic with Joker in the back seat of the car. Yesterday I got in the mail my copy of The Art of TDK with script. In the script that scene is when he leaves the Penthouse Party. It says he is breathing hard, exhilarated. As his get away car speeds away the goon driving asks him "What do we do about Dent?", the Joker simply responds, "I'm a man of my word".

Really quick scene so I can see why it was cut out as well. At least we know it was filmed due to that picture that was released during the Virals.

That's why I think it's a crock of **** if Nolan yet again says there are no existing deleted scenes. Maybe true for BB but this time we know they exist.

I at least want them as extras for the DVD if there not going to be put back in the film.

That fake Batman the Joker kills that had the card pinned to his suit, it was supposed to be a knife a lot of us know from that leaked pic awhile back. It even says in the script that it's stabbed into him with a knife. That was changed most likely due to the rating.

I still think some of the things like changing it from a knife to a pin is kind of ridiculous. If you've seen enough PG-13 movies you will know that they can get away with quite a bit before there hit with an R.

Great post, I agree 100%.

I'm upset that this scene was removed, as I was looking forward to it!

Were there any deleted scenes of any of the special edition Batman Begins DVD's?

didn't think so

kind of a bummer we might not get to see these TDK scenes

So, to summarize what we've found in this thread (of course, I added some of my own examples, as I have a bunch of BTS material from the film):

(Alternate/deleted scenes)

Tumbler plowing into parking garage (slightly extended shot from Comcast trailer)
Knife stuck into Brian Douglass's body instead of pin (promotional picture)
Bruce and Harvey having a toast at penthouse party (Wizard World footage)
"Then you're gonna love me." (deleted shot during party crash scene)
The Joker in vehicle after party (promotional picture; on-set footage)
Harvey straightning his tie before getting on stage at press conference
Alternate shot of Batsuit rising from the floor (Wizard World footage)
Tumbler leaving Batcave (Batman Tech television special)
Joker flinching when firing the rocket launcher (slightly extended shot from Trailer #1)
Extended shots of Batpod racing through mall (Batman Tech television special)
Long shot of Joker confronting Batman after tractor-trailer crash (Trailer #1)
Alternate shot of Joker producing knife and flipping it to other hand after Batpod crash (Trailer #3)
Inmates gathering to look at the Joker (Trailer #1)

"This town is mine now." (deleted shot during money-burning scene from Domino's trailer)
Joker turning his head inquisitively during final confrontation (TV spot #14)
Alternate shot of Gordon readying axe to destroy Batsignal (with Mike Engel)
Extended final shot (Comcast IMAX featurette)

(Newtypejuggalo's post)

Lucius showing a newspaper to Bruce in Hong Kong
Alleyway shootout after the funeral scene
Fake Batman fighting the Joker in police uniform
Berg being arrested by Gotham P.D.
Bruce Wayne visiting hospital
Bomb truck pulling up to the hospital

(Alternate lines)

"It's simple. Kill the Batman." (alternate take during mob meeting scene)
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We are tonight's entertainment." (TV Spot #1)
"I'll settle for his loved ones!" (deleted dialogue during party crash scene)
"You've got a little fight in ya. I like that." (alternate take during party crash scene)
"You've changed things. Forever. There's no going back. To them, you're just a freak...like me!" (alternate dialogue during interrogation scene from trailers)
"You'll see. I'll show ya." (alternate line during interrogation scene)
"I love this job!" (alternate dialogue during convoy chase)
"This city deserves a better class of criminal...and I'm gonna give it to them." (Comcast trailer)

This doesn't really classify as deleted but theres numerous chages and cuts to the dialogue in the original screenplay one of the more interesting ones being that Joker impersonates an old woman when he calls Engel on the news and insinuating Reese should kill himself but he never would cos 'hes a lawyer'. I wonder if this stuff will show up - perhaps filmed like this other stuff and later dropped

I also noticed that, way back in the BTS footage from the Today Show interview with Bale and Nolan, there's a clip of Dent at an outdoor podium (maybe a press conference) saying "You can trust in Harvey Dent." I can't remember any scene like that in the film. The Wizard World trailer had Dent and Wayne celebrating and clinking champagne glasses.

Yeah or the speech Rachel gave about "I Believe In Harvey Dent" :csad::o:cmad:

Maybe I missed it in here, but there's also that shot of Joker standing in front of the burning pile of money and he does a half turn with that angry look on his face.

I wonder if anyone mentioned this (too much to read), but judging from the large list posted a few posts up I think not. The Joker sucking on his teeth like a cack addict and going "hmm..." all sarcastically when the Batpod swerves past him is missing as well.

As for the hanging half way out of a cop car, it's there, just in slow motion.

That was the rumor, but Nolan said they changed it because of story reasons. They felt it didn't fit in.

He said he had no problems dumping movie stars into that water. :hehe:

He should have. I had a pair of grey pants permanently stained by that harbor and that was back in '91. I seriously doubt that water has gotten cleaner since then.

How long is the actual movie without the credits? 2h20'?

That was used as campaign footage during the virals. You can briefly see it when Bruce is looking at Harvey on his computers in the beginning of the film.

He does suck his teeth after the Batpod misses him. The "Hmmm" line is from when he sees the Tumbler in the chase. They just juxtaposed these for the trailer.
