The visuals look fine but Ryan was miscast. I was hoping he’d use a different voice or tone but it’s basically Deadpool.

Ryan Reynolds is not a great voice actor. You are only going to get Ryan Reynolds from his voice.

I dunno. Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu (really?) Is really throwing me off. All I'm getting here is a PG version of Reynold's schtick...Coming out of a Pikachu. I don't care for Pokemon at all these days so I guess this movie is just not for me, but I've always found Pikachu to be the cutest thing (how could you not) and here he's just reminding me of every other CGI animal that gets voiced by a celebrity.

Save the silly jokes for Deadpool and this isn't Deadpool. Its Pokemon and not a r rated comedy like Ted. Thing is they are gonna give Pikachu a talking human voice, they should have at least found someone that would sound like Pikachu if Pikachu starts talking. What's next? Ryan Reynolds in his normal speaking for voice roles of Alvin and the other two Chipmunks.

Maybe that was the idea, but I'm not sure it works, or rather,... it sounds totally off to me. Maybe with a different actor that could work but honestly all I hear is Deadpool. When you consider how many characters in the Simpsons are voiced by the same people for example, Reynolds has like no range.
