Jesus ****, that looks like somebody shot a wild Pikachu and had it mounted.

Well it was either going to be Ryan Reynolds or Danny Devito to be honest I wouldn't of minded Devito I think it would've been interesting but the voice doesn't bother me.

Despite everything I really don't think anybody would think we would've seen any type of a live action pokemon on the big screen and for it to actually look better than we expected.

That's the point. I wish he had gone with a different voice.
I don't think he is one of those actors that has ever shown a range of voice work. You hire Ryan Reynolds you pretty much know what you're going to get.

To each their own, of course.

I'm counting on it. It writes itself. :funny:

More like Sega spying on this film. :o

Well the Sonic movie has been in development since 2014..

I was kidding (kind of). Not hating on it or anything, But I can't help notice a similarity there.

I'm surprised there was no Nintendo logo at the start of the trailer. (Just 'The Pokemon Company') Would've been cool to see Nintendo go Marvel with their own logo sequence at the beginning. With a Mario movie also in the works, they should consider starting a 'Nintendo Films' brand.

As much as I don't like Pikachu's voice, Justice Smith worries me more. I've only seen him in Jurassic Kingdom, and he was very annoying in it.

Well he was pretty much the Comic Relief in that film. This looks more like a serious role than he had in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

Count me as a fan of Reynold's using his natural speaking voice. If he or someone else tried to sound like a Pikachu speaking English then the joke doesn't land as well when he's talking and all anyone hears is Pika Pika.

Like Meowth sounds like a talking cat, because that's what he is. Pikachu doesn't speak any human language. Smith's character is just able to understand him.

has someone a link to a non youtube 1080p or higher version from the Trailer and kind of sad is that we doesnt have a International Trailer with extra new Footage yet

I was joking too. So we cool.

If this fails, then they should probably stick to a more traditional movie like with an actual Pokemon trainer going to gym battles as the main storyline and just catching them all.

I think going to 7 gyms would be quite repetitive for a single movie and if they feature the tournament towards at the end, it would be too much. And of course, we have to see the trainer, catch and train Pokemons which would take time. Something like that would take a couple of films, which I wouldn't mind.

Here it seems like they went with a simpler story which is fine but a journey of a wannabe Pokemon master would have appealed to me more and I wish they didn't have Pikachu talking in human voice. Also it looks like it won't just be gen 1 pokemons. But possibly six generations?

Yeah it really should've been something a lot closer to what we know like either the anime/manga/game.

It is possible to make a decent Pokemon movie I'd say without feeling repetitive like going to 7 gyms. They should follow the template of the typical Sports movie like say The Karate Kid for Pokemon. It'll basically be that but with animals and a bit more kid friendly.

Ash/Red could be in the Daniel LaRusso role with Blue/Gary in the Johnny Lawrence role competing for one big tournament and Misty/Brock/Professor Oak all doing the Mr. Miyagi role. And if it has to feature a montage of some sorts, I think it should be the protagonist catching Squirtle->Charmander->Bulbasaur in that order and showing him being less of a sloppy trainer as time passes.

I think Pokemon beating the **** out of each other in a realistic setting may have weird implications.
