Devil May Cry Coming To The Big Screen

Mortal Kombat In Name Only.

Yes, it's a stupid and uncalled for name. I can't wait for the webisodes.

About Devil May Cry, it could be good but Most Likely Screen Gems is going to screw it up. I wish another production company bought the rights and I would have more faith in it.

Very true. It amazes me how you take away some fantastical elements and try to set something apart from the previous incarnations and people instantly bash the hell out of it, the web-series is gonna be great. Devil May Cry is on thin ice at a very early stage, the film has the potential to be very good from an action standpoint, but given the fact that Screen Gems is handling it certainly doesn't do it any justice.

This has no chance in hell at being good.

I'd say this movie is screwed before we even get a director. That track record is just awful.

I'm hoping we're getting the white-haired Dante, something tells me they would easily try to do their own take on Dante. I'd be pissed if they did that

or emo dante lol

The main thing about Dante is his hair and his red coat; it's almost iconic. To change it, you just take away 80% of his character (since, let's admit it, he's a very shallow character)

Indeed. I don't even plan on playing the new DMC games because I don't like the new Dante/reboot idea.

I know this makes me sound like a fanboy but thats how I feel about the new game, his look is just all types of wrong and I have no desire to play it.

Not too sure about the idea of a DMC movie, lets face it they've hardly got these game adaptions right in the past so will this be any different. Saying that though I'm 90% sure I will be checking it out

Pretty true. The gameplay was the star of these games. Not the story. That's why when I was watching my roommate play Bayonetta I was like...''Why can't DMC get what this has? Cool gameplay, but a good story as well."

well DMC kind of got made by accident
Originally intended to be a sequel in Capcom's Resident Evil series, Devil May Cry was such a radical departure from the series' style that it was developed into a new property entirely

I just wonder how something like that can happen in the first place. You start out the project by trying to make another survival horror game and end up with DMC.

im certainly hoping this will actually turn out to be good. not generic, not corny, and truthful to the source material. rated r isnt necessary but a hard pg-13 should be intended (maybe unrated on dvd).
i am a fan of the games and think the overall narrative is a pretty cool idea but needs to be somewhat planned out from the get-go instead of trying to do what the 2nd game did and try and find where to go with the character and end up failing. the story should definetly start with (if they follow the games) where dmc 3 starts. there should be more of a real world that dantes living in and not absent of all human life. but start with his brother, virgil, and go from there. the 2nd can introduce trish and mundus with nelo angelo appearing and then an end to the trilogy could be something like dmc 4 since nero is the receiver of virgils abilities however i think the focus should still mainly be on dante

Well, wasn't it the beginning of development on RE4 that created DMC? They were already trying to search for a new direction for the Resident Evil series. They just went a little too overboard and went ''This can't be RE4 at all!"

Please, please, PLEASE !!!!!!! just cast Reuben Langdon as Dante, that's the very least they could do. Look at him.....Just ****ing look at him!!!

I'm sorry. He's all wrong for the role. He's for one too skinny, and take it from me. Gay men and the women that play these games? They find Dante a sexy piece of man meat. That guy? Not that.
