Dexter - Part 2

Season 5 had the unenviable task of following up the massive Season 4 game changer. In order to properly follow through, they really needed to take the show someplace new and mix things up.
Dexter should have reverted back to an untamed monster, yes it would mean all previous development would be moot, but that's what we want in this show. He's an anti-hero, and they just went with an angle that was forced and against type for him (letting her go).

It should have been the catalyst for Deb finding out because he's untamed, sloppy and angry. He feels no satisfaction for killing Trinity because all of his pleasure from that kill was focused on having him on the table and "winning". It wasn't a vengeance kill and so he's missing that feeling.

I agree 100% with this. Season 5 needed to take Dexter to extremely dark places. I would have liked to have seen him overwhelmed by an insatiable anger and desire to kill, and him killing his victims with excessive brutality.

I could go on forever about how much I dislike S5, from Lumen, to the lack of music and lazy cinematography, to the uninteresting story and how they made Dexter mopey. But I'll leave it at what I've said.

Blah blah blah. Why would Dexter have gone crazy after Rita? The only truly dumb thing he does after she dies is kill that random guy while he's our riding around on his boat. I don't care what ANY of y'all say, I loved season 5 and that's all that matters to me. Sure, it's in the top 3 worst of the series thus far but that's just by default. I've admitted the things that needed to have been changed with it and stand by those statements. The only really bad stuff is how they didn't actually continue the story from there. Season 6 was a big reset and unnecessary. Lumen's story and all that was necessary. What it did to Dexter, Deb choosing to let them etc all was done well and led to how the characters are now. All except for Quinn. I still think Quinn should have known before Deb and him and Dex should have become slightly close. That's the one thing this show has done that it shouldn't have is write of of or kill every character who learns Dexter's secret. We should have had at least one single character who had found out about it by now and while telling Dexter they think he's a sick **** and it isn't right but that it's also not wrong. Quinn should have been the living Harry on Dexter's shoulder. I dunno if it would cheapen Deb's revelation or not but I do know that Quinn is the exact same kind of cop that Harry was who understood that the world isn't black and white. Unlike most people I really like Quinn as a character. Desmond Harrington is a great actor

I want to see a scene with Quinn yelling at someone, "If you take one step we will fire! If you take two steps we will blow the bridge!"

Dexter at one point needs to be like "Deb! I killed Rudy to save you! My own brother! I killed Trinity before I found Rita! Who do you think you let go at the cabin at the old camp? It was me and Lumen! Travis Marshal kidnapped my son! I killed the Skinner! Remember what he did to Anton?!? Rudy was going to make me kill you Deb, he was going to make me choose and I chose you!" Something, he has to come clean about some stuff at some point during the season more than just being BHB. He HAS TO

Than Deb could ask "If you're the BHB then what happened to Doakes?" then he could come clean about Lila doing it. It's just weird to me, personally I have a pretty strict moral code (as hard as that can be to believe) and honesty and truth are way high up on the list so maybe I have an askew perspective about it but if people were just upfront and honest and say what they mean and explain stuff it's always better like that

i think deb will have dreams or remember parts of Rudy and Dex... once she recognizes similarities... she was only half asleep when it all went down.

Im watching the ep where Dex kills Cole Harmon right if front of Lumen and I don't care what anybody says if you can't find beauty in the Lumen and Dexter kill scenes then you just have no heart. I love it, just sucks they didnt follow up properly enough

surprised we havent seen any more previews, etc... its only a couple weeks away.

I was hoping for another cool promotion, like when they made all those fountains red

Not that I know for a fact or anything, but the past few years the season finale of weeds (tonight is the 1 hour series finale) has had a new trailer for upcoming seasons of Dexter... so I'd expect something tonight around 11.

The season finale is going to be titled "Surprise, Motherf***er!" :lmao:

True story.

I bet we are going to get some golden Harry scenes... can't wait to see Harry in some of the Dex/Deb scenes..

After last season I have no expectations. Which can only be good thing IMO.

there are synopsis' for episodes 2,3, and 4 too... I didn't want to read them though.

Getting psyched for next Sunday! Right now I've only had Sons of Anarchy to look forward to.

No love for Boardwalk Empire? Been loving that right now. :)

Not yet, saving to get started on that when the long tv drought starts and nothing is on.
