Sloth7D only the first season is loosely based on the first Dexter book. The rest of the season don't follow the book series (which is a shame, Dr. Danco!!!)

So it was the show writers as opposed to Jeff Lindsay.

I hated Lila, I thought most people did. One of the worst things to happen to this show IMO.

I hated her too. I thought she was an annoying waste of time that season.

The Bay Harbor Butcher, Doakes, and Dexter trying not to be found out should have been the only focus of the season.

Not to mention that she is responsible for the extremely lackluster and disappointing way that Doakes died.

Whole heartedly agree with every word.

Also great new episode. During the scene where laguerta was suspending Quinn. (maybe its just because i recently rewatched season 2) but I kept thinking to myself "you'd think laguerta would realize this is the second cop who has started a crusade against dexter, and might not be COMPLETELY skeptical like she was the last time.

I mean hell she's already realized people aren't who they seem, with doakes, miguel etc. You'd think she wouldn't revert to blindness when it comes to dexter

But then again Laguerta has always been written poorly. Angel is beginning to fall into the same poorly written plotlines as well, its depressing, they're great characters.

Like where they are going with Stiles.

I am 100% with you on that Neverless. How Leguerta didn't stop for a moment & realise that she was almost re-enacting the same exact scene from season 2, I have no idea.

Also how many here thinks that Leguerta is going to give that DA dude a knob job? I swear to god that is what they are hinting at. I really hope they don't go down that route.

I gotta be honest. This season has been pretty bland to me. I was expecting more. What exactly I don't know. I just expected more.

I think Lithgow may have been the crescendo of the series.

I was thinking the same thing about the knobjob, ghostvirus and also hoping that isn't what they were planning.

Seriously, because they went from her in season 3 being a shut in with no friends after doakes, to the best blowjobs in the department? I mean come on.

They have never been consistent with her or Angel. This is what, 4th, 5th time that angel has come close to losing his job now for either hookers, fighting, accused rape. I am sure the list can go on. Why do they have to come up with the same exact plotline for angel with slight different details every season?

He's a character I liked alot in the earliar seasons, there was something genuine about him. now I just can't stand anything he's involved in.

I am still enjoying the season. Hall is a rivetting performer, and I am curious where this whole Lumen thing is gonna go. Guess we'll see.

Agreed.

I really hate to say it. But I see a little bit of racism in the way Leguerta & Angel are treated. There characters could be written so much better. but it seems that they won't let Angel evolve anymore.

Same with Masuka. He should be getting some of that Deb tale. But once again it seems that He is just the guy that makes funny jokes & laughs goofy.

Meanwhile Deborah the most self sabotaging character I have ever seen has gone from beat cop, to lead homocide. I wouldn't be surprised if Angel does get fired.

& guess who get his job! The little trash talking white girl. Getting a little tired of it to be honest. This isn't just a Dexter thing. It is an entertainment media thing.

I'm really liking the stuff with Stiles and look forward to how things play out with her and Dexter. But I REALLY hope her character doesn't end up being another Lila.

how's the season so far?

i haven't watched any of the new season because i kinda grew tired of dexter after this past season, but now that mad men is over, i'm wondering if i should get back into it.

This show kinda sucks when Dex doesn't kill, doesn't it?

I wouldn't say that. He definitely seems to kill less with every season, but there's been some quality and variety in his kills, too. Outside of the flashback episode where he killed the nurse that was poisoning Harry and a bunch of other people, and Lila (how can you hate nekkid Jamie Murray, that's damn good television in my book!), you didn't see Dexter kill many women, so the episode with Christina Cox last season was a welcome change of pace. And his whole back-and-forth with Trinity played out masterfully, much of it due to Lithgow's performance.

Dexter can't be killin' someone every episode.

The more I go over the season so far. I am disturbed at how dangerously close to season 2 this season is treading.

The FBI is back, & when the Kyle Butler thing gets worked out. They may be once again on Dexter's ass.

Stiles does appear to be Lila like.

Quinn. Although smarter has many of the same scenes that Doakes had. The whole sneaking up on Dexter when he was using the computer thing. Getting suspended, etc..

I really hope all this is just a ruse, & they will eventually flip things on its head. But things are looking very deja vu-zy right now.

Yeah other than her being a female companion to Dexter, I don't see the similarities. Doakes and Quinn I can understand.

I'm also thinkiing that Laguetta is going to be forced, or already has been forced, into giving that Internal Affairs guy..many, you knowwhat's. Did you see the way she went off on Quinn? It was obvious she was pissed about something else, but was taking it out on him. I think Angel will find this out lateron in the season, as to why the case against him was suddenly dropped.

I like the Julia Stiles character (what kinda name is Luman, btw!)...but then, i've always liked her period.:cwink:

I don't however like how abrupt the 'Kyle Butler hunt has seemed to end...

...all in all, a great ep.

I think it would be good if it did end abruptly. Then again, it probably won't. Quinn bangin' Debra is gonna need some kick that only his suspicions about Dexter can probably provide. Although the best way to combat that on Dexter's end is to threaten Quinn with his knowledge of his less than honorable actions, like the occasional skimming of drug money after busts. Quinn's motivation for being suspicious of Dexter is fueled by his own fear of Dexter ratting him out, which Dexter honestly has no interest in.

The whole cat and mouse thing between them is totally one-sided. Whereas Dexter was fully aware of Doakes wanting to find him out, he's completely oblivious to Quinn trying to do the same thing, right now.

For me the similarity comes from being damaged & out of control. From the previews she seems to be a mix of Lila & Miquel.

I understand her going off on Quinn. She had a lot to swallow that day.:o

Seriously though. I think what is going to happen is the FBI now I think has a picture of Dexter that Quinn dropped in the store. So now the FBI knows who Quinn was talking about looking like Kyle. So I think that Quinn may have stopped looking. But unintentionally may have peeked the FBI's curiousity.

Quinn is going to fall deeper for Deb. The feds are going to get closer to Dexter. Quinn is going to feel hella guilty. & boom! The climax of the season will be Quinn having to tell Deb. & them either knowing Dexters secret, or thinking he is innocent. Either way. They help Dexter not get caught.

All this could potentially be helped if Angel gets fired, or demoted. Deb would be next in line. So she would have a lot of pull, or resourcing that she could work with.

That is my guess.

Gross man, just gross ;)

Seriously though, I had to laugh at your first sentence, I was thinking the exact same thing! We're kind of lucky though, because her lack of insight has always saved Dexter from being on the police's radar.
