yes i know its incredibly early for this....but rumors are already starting to go, and ill continue to post news and rumors here, cause i love the show :)

rumor has it the 3rd season will be based loosely on book 2, Dearly Devoted Dexter.

this is a word of mouth rumor so dont hold me to it or ask where i heard it cause no one on here knows them.

Dexter returns September 28.

apparently season 3 begins filming in march. Lundy's character will be back for atleast 2 episodes... i emailed showtime to find out more. hopefully they respond.

looking forward to watching season 3 online (since I don't have Showtime).

for those who dont have showtime, Dexter season 1 will air Feb 17 on CBS.

Michael C Hall deserves an emmy for it, so check it out.

I've been looking forward to getting this on DVD, but just have'nt found the time. I'll watch. Hopefully it isn't over-edited.

I got season 1 on dvd and let me tell you that after watching it, I couldn't wait for season 2. I got addicted to this show fast. I saw season 2 online (I couldn't wait for the dvd) and now I'm eagerly waiting season 3!

:woot: i always wanted to check out that show. i heard its a great show.

I wonder how they will edit Deb?

just remove her completely until
rudy comes into the picture

lol...its gonna be interesting to see how they edit it...i heard alot of the cast came in a did their own voiceovers for certain ones...

i dunno about the violence aspect though..

IMO Dexter without violence and language, just isnt dexter...but we will see, i hope people start watching this show more... once you watch the pilot, your hooked!

i think once ppl see it on cbs it'll make them get shotime.

i think once ppl see it on cbs it'll make them get shotime.

i honestly know atleast 10 people who watched the dvds i had, and they all subscribed to showtime for season 2.

yea i think the ratings ****e of cbs will dramatically help dexter in the future.

short article in Entertainment Weekly says only about 6 minutes of each show will be edited out...nearly none of the violence will be edited out...they said most of the editing will be language.

 good news!

Dexter Star Reveals Rambo's True Message
by Ileane Rudolph

We first loved/hated Julie Benz as the sweetly malevolent vamp Darla in Buffy, now she's loving a serial killer in Showtime's Dexter, which CBS will start airing in reruns on Sundays at 10 pm/ET, starting February 7. Benz also makes forays onto the big screen with a couple of action flicks: Rambo IV (opened on Friday, Jan. 25) and The Punisher: War Zone. She gives us the lowdown on working with Dexter star Michael C. Hall and Sylvester Stallone, plus some memories from the Buffyverse.

TV Guide: Congratulations on Dexter coming to CBS. I bet you didn't think this quirky little cable series with a serial killer hero would ever go wide on network TV, did you?
Julie Benz: No! It definitely was a big surprise. Because of the writers' strike, it's kind of bittersweet, but at the same time it's an opportunity to gain more exposure for the show. So many people say to me, "Oh, I've heard so much about it but I don't get Showtime," so hopefully now they'll see it on CBS and get Showtime.

TV Guide: Are you worried that an edited Dexter will lose something in translation?
Benz: No. The show is inherently good. The writing is so phenomenal, you still have the incredible work of Michael C. Hall. All along we've been doing coverage on language for the possibility of it being repurposed down the line.

TV Guide: And there's not that much naked sex, right?
Benz: There are a couple of scenes. Even though the stuff between Dexter and me has always been lovely, I'm hoping any shots that includes me and my naked butt [laughs] are taken out.

TV Guide: Do you think a wide audience will get the show?
Benz: I do. It's such a great show and I love the way it challenges you as an audience to really think and question your own moral code. I think that's something people are looking for in today's world.

TV Guide: What can you say to people so they won't be scared away?
Benz: It's really a dark comedy. Yes, it deals with serious issues and a serial killer, but there are also very funny moments in it. And once you start watching, it's really addictive!

TV Guide: For the uninitiated, you play Rita, the sweet single mother who's dating Dexter. Does she have any suspicions about his hobby — killing really, really bad people?
Benz: Not at all. Rita really sees the good in him and wants to continue seeing that.

TV Guide: Should she run like hell or do you want them to stay happily together?
Benz: I want them to stay together forever, of course. I love my job, so I want her to be naïve for the rest of the series. But she is stronger now. She's not so fragile. With the support of Dexter, she's coming into her own.

TV Guide: Michael C. Hall is extraordinarily intense on the show. Does he stay in character while you work?
Benz: He's a very sweet, gentle man actually. He takes his work seriously but he's not scarily intense. I tend to joke around a lot, especially when we're shooting the real emotional stuff. I'll be laughing and making jokes up until they yell "Action!" and then I burst into tears. I guess I'm a little psychotic.

TV Guide: You went from "psycho" to Rambo. Who do you play?
Benz: I'm a missionary who asks Rambo to take us into Burma to bring medical supplies to the Karen tribes people who are being persecuted. Against his will, he does it and we end up being taken hostage and all sorts of action ensues.

TV Guide: So does Sly Stallone still have it?
Benz: Definitely. He's in amazing physical condition. I run a lot, I'm really fast and extremely competitive and very few men can beat me. But in all our running scenes, I could barely keep up with him!

TV Guide: Do your characters hook up?
Benz: It's a more spiritual love interest. He puts his life on the line for me, but are there kissing scenes? No. We're busy running around from the bad guys.

TV Guide: Why did you go out for this movie? Do you like to violent action movies?
Benz: It turns out that Mr. Stallone is a fan of Dexter, so they called me and asked if I'd take a meeting. I was fascinated by being a part of the Rambo franchise, plus there's a real social message behind the movie about the most underreported war in the world.

TV Guide: Where did you film and was it one of those tough jungle shoots?
Benz: In the jungles of northern Thailand. It was the most physically and emotionally demanding job I've ever had. It was 120 degrees, gunfire going off and buildings exploding. Your body doesn't know the difference between reality and fantasy! I felt really scared a few times. In one scene, I was tied up and a 400-pound pig burst through a fence towards me. They kept the camera rolling when I was freaking out.

TV Guide: Was Stallone sympathetic?
Benz: Totally. But at the same time, he said it would make for a richer film if I tried to do my own stunts and it was my face hitting the dirt. I also felt you don't take on an action movie to be a wimp.

TV Guide: You must have liked the pain, you just did another franchise action flick, Punisher: War Zone.
Benz: Yeah, It stars Ray Stevenson from Rome and Dominic West from The Wire. I play the wife of a murdered cop and everyone seems to be after me. I do some action, but it was not nearly as intense for me as Rambo was. We were shooting in the jungles of Montreal. [Laughs] But we shot nights and it was extremely cold, so give me 120 degree weather any day!

TV Guide: Is there any truth to the internet rumor that you'll be playing Sue Ellen in the much delayed Dallas movie remake?
Benz: There's absolutely no truth that I know of. I would love it though. I was a big fan growing up and playing Sue Ellen would be awesome. That's why a lot of people think I'm now brunette, but I went brunette for The Punisher.

TV Guide: A lot of us got to know you in the Buffyverse as the vampire Darla. Was playing that sweet-faced evil character liberating for you?
Benz: It was. When I got cast, I was only doing comedy and Joss [Whedon] thought it would be a great twist if someone who looked and talked like me was the most evil vampire on the earth. I loved playing her.

TV Guide: What was your favorite moment as Darla? I almost cried when she staked herself to save her unborn child.
Benz: That was definitely one of my favorite moments, plus when David Boreanaz and I were shooting in a water tank and I take a cross out and burn it into his chest and said, "God doesn't want you but I still do." That for me was the key to Darla. A scorned women who was never going to get over it.

TV Guide: Before you were an actor, you were a competitive figure skater. How were your double axels?
Benz: I could do a killer lay back spin, but the double axel was my nemesis. That's what I got injured doing at 13. By 16, I was retired. I saw more longevity in acting. In skating, you're washed up at 18 and in acting, you're not washed up until 40. [Laughs]

season 3 predictions...

hell, theres so much possible i dont even know where to begin...

lets start with LaGuerta...shes gonna be a whole different person...i think shes gonna find out dexter knew something, or find the connection between him and the ITK, but not make a HUGE deal out of it, but i think that could play a vital part to the season.

deb..shes gonna be be upgraded to detective batistas position while batista will be the new sergeant.....deb will probably be stronger this season and im torn on who i want to find out about dex and the itk being brothers...either deb or laguerta.

batista...i think hes gonna have a new relationship with that girl he was interviewing.

masuka...same ole same ole...

dexter...hes going to have new rituals...this season will be about him experimenting...but ultimately he'll prefer his old ways i hope. him and ritas relationship will be stronger then ever and she'll hint at wanting more.

i think season 3 will focus on a new killer whos not playing games with dexter like the ITK was, but actually after dexter and everything to do with him. to the point where dexter is actually afraid.

this new killer has to be flawless, untouchable...

i dont know about lundy...ive heard rumors he'll be back for atleast a few episodes...but i dont want the BHB case reopened...however i do want lundy to suspect him of something and possibly figure it all out..but not do anything for debs sake.

i still think lundy is a killer too..ive thought it since he first came into the show.

what do yall wanna see/think we'll see/ etc...

oh ya...i want dexter to pass the code onto someone...Cody perhaps...spoiler......kinda like the books, but cody only.

im expecting an email confirming this, but rumors say filming def starts in march, and season 3 is set a couple weeks after the events in season 2.

Lundy a killer? o_O that could be something interesting and new. Id like to see his killing ritual go off against Dex's new style.

HOLY ****! What if Lundy was the new killer trying to terrorize Dexter?

It could work out somehow, give him motivation, a little something to go off of. Dexter is not someone you just "arrest," mind you. He's too good, too special. But before anyone could predict it, we need to find that out.

And so Lundy and Deb will live together and so will Dexter and Rita. And while in the day-time Lundy and Dexter are playing silent mind-games with each other, their night-time terrorism grows all the more insane.

Also, I want Rita to die in episode 12. I love her so much. But I think Dexter needs to really LOSE something. I mean, really. Perhaps in exchange for Deb accepting his true self and the death of Lundy. Rita dies, Lundy then dies, Deb says its okay. And Cody sees it all.

Uh-oh. Protege? Time to teach the code the right way? Season 4? Yes.

I will write Dexter Season 3, instead of the striking-delayers-of-good-TV. J/K, I love the strikers. I am just starting to get irritable, that's all.

I thought the strike hhalted everything for Dexter?

lundy could very well be a killer...he has this creepy side to him...and knows wayyy too much about killers to not be one.

the strike didnt halt anything for dexter.

and i doubt rita will die and dont want her too...dexter has already lost 2 important people....Harry...and maybe the person who he knows coulda been the most important...Rudy/Brian.

I dont think the strike will affect the show at all. Most of the shows eps are written by people who helped create it. Melissa Rosenberg wrote most of the eps for season 2 I think.

I'm looking forward to Season Three, although the second season wasn't nearly as good as the first, IMHO. The season finale of S2 was laughably bad in certain scenes. Don't get me wrong, I've been a huge fan since the beginning. I was hooked from the pilot. I'd seen MCH in Six Feet Under. That second season finale left me very disappointed.

A friend of mine just gave me all of season 2 and I watched it the other day in 1 sitting. To say I enjoyed it is an understatement.

I'm practically salivating at the prospect of Season 3.

What does that have to do with anything? If they're members of the WGA (and they most likely are, since Dexter's filmed in the USA), they're probably striking.
