So Arrow (without a doubt) is a success. It's got a full season it's pulling in great ratings and the fans are happy (as proof alone by an entire forum on this site dedicated to the show).

But for me the question is: What next?

Yes hopefully this will go for a long time (but not too long) but DC and the CW now have an interesting opprotunity in front of them.

Smallville was very much a test of what to do and not to do with a modern superhero tv show. And with Arrow already getting much acclaim they should wonder if they should try making another show. Have two shows played back-to-back and make a epic night of it.

    But which hero?

Now yes there is rumors of Booster Gold on Syfy (which doesn't bode well cause they cancelled Alphas) and yes there is a rumor of a potential Wonder Woman show on CW called Amazon (insert numerous jokes here).

But what I want to ask is: What do you think should be the next Arrow? What hero or style do you think has the most potential to both succeed but not undermine Arrow.

For example. I personally would love a show starring SHAZAM!. And along with that I want it based in the magical side of the DCU. This would be a perfect anti-thesis to Arrow and their grounded/realistic approach to it. They would be able to show both powers and magic and show a different take on the superhero world.

Also Billy Batson is a totally different character from Oliver Queen and in my opinion a little more relateable so that'll help keep people in.

I wrote a blog post about my idea you can read it here.

But that's just my opinion. Who would you want and why?

I open the floor to you.

Hmmm. Suicide Squad spin-off starring Deadshot? It could be a nice change of pace for the CW. Technically the shows could cross over.

That could work. The cast would have to be talked over a lot (not sure if they could get Harley Quinn like the New 52) but it would be interesting.

And because of the format it would be low effects like Arrow. Interesting. And they could hint at the heroes that forced the team to be created.

    I would watch it.

It will depend on the channel, but I will focus more on CW since its the only channel that seem to have any interest whatsoever in DC produce:whatever:.

FIRESTORM, we already have one successful firestorm character in the show. :cwink:. Spin off!, spin off!. I think he as a pretty good rogue gallery and very tragic, and it would be more sci fi , and would fit where CW is going now. Fast forward 5 since the hood retired enter a teenage Ronnie Raymond. Felicity would be there to coach the young hero into what the hood used to be for the city . It would be a different world by then, well technologically advanced. He could be a dual person hero or not.

FLASH/Wally West - There is so much they could do with this character. Flash needs a reboot, and It should be Wally's turn, so much to explore. Would focus on college age Wally studying chemistry, who get into an accident in the lab and bang he got powers.

BlUE BEETLE- Following the success of YJ and BB being a popular character this season. Ted kord would be hi mentor and the story would follow closely to whats in comics.

Basically I think sci fi-tech based superheroes are the way to go. Superhuman hero shows may be too expensive, & too out there, and non superpowers/reality based shows can get boring and get dry very fast.

Just in: Wonder Woman seem to be dead once again. zzzzzzzzzzz

    So?

Does this mean the CW get to do the shows for free then or for a little fee.

If the show's successful all of the profits go straight to Warner Brothers I guess. Otherwise they'd have to split money with the network airing it. Or not, I'm not expert on this stuff. But they'd prefer dealing within.

The next thing they should do is give Arrow a NAME.

I wouldn't do anything in the same universe but there is potential for another hero to have his own show.

But for me they could easily do the Flash next, but with the JL movie in production I'm not sure they'd want to venture down the full costumed hero when he's gonna be on the big screen. Of course they are potentially doing Amazon but that sounds like a journey to been the hero much like Smallville.

I wouldn't mind a Ted Kord Blue Beetle show, as we know he didn't have super powers so you wouldn't have to worry too much about budget aslong as you could ground the things he uses.

A series involving the Question would be very interesting.

I keep thinking maybe they could team up a few B heroes in a show, maybe kind of like JL International but give them a different team name.

Of course if budget wasn't such a concern I think a Shazam TV show would be amazing if done right.

Anyway what happened to the supposed Booster Gold show?

They have the script done. I guess now they're figuring out where the show would go and whatnot. We should hear if it gets a pilot order for next season soon I hope.

    Nice choices!

Firestorm- Even though he's such a powerful character and such an interesting concept,I don't think the powers that be would invest time in Firestorm. The costume would have to be reworked a bit but I do think there's a ton of stories they could do with whatever pair(S?) they'd use to comprise him.

Flash-The Wally West version,I agree, would be perfect for tv.The only problem is that DC is all about Barry Allen right now.(Which I have no problem with btw)I think the best case scenario would be after using Barry in a few solo and JLA movies,Wally inherits the Flash mantle at the end of the last movie or on the tv series premier. Kinda like how Marvel's SHEILD tv series takes place after the Avengers movie.

Blue Beetle-I think DC really has been trying to not only push BB as their Spider-Man "everyman" hero but also to promote more diversity in their media. Smallville did an ok job with him and I like him on Young Justice.Out of the three choices here,I think this one's the most likely.

I would hope and completely expect Ted Kord to appear on the Booster Gold series. I really hope the the Question at least appears on Arrow at some point.I really think he'd fit in that universe seamlessly.

As for Shazam,I agree 100%. I think Billy Batson's world would best benefit and deserves a big budget.

I agree that the Question fits right in that setting. However, I don't think the Question really has what it takes to lead a show since he would be working solo and he works best when he has a foil to play off his eccentricities. Yup, he wouldn't work as his on show. No 'Question' there. :D

Nightwing, people! It can only be Nightwing!

    :o

Honestly though we'd be lucky to see any Bat-character on the small screen. Might not happen for awhile.

But I'd seriously watch the hell out of a Question series. Who wouldn't love a good mystery show? Yes Q doesn't have the greatest rogues gallery but hey, neither does GA. Granted GA's is a little more advanced shall we say. Plus there's his connection to Huntress who we already have. Introduce him in an ep and spin it off from there. We could even see Lady Shiva and Richard Dragon.

I'd love to see a live action take on Vic Sage.

A Question show would be fantastic, and it could easily be spun off from Arrow.

    Thanks.:yay:

love Wally/Flash the most but I also love Barry/Flash. I enjoyed the first Tv series in the 1990s. So yeah I wouldnt mind a a reboot with the same guy. Like all the "flashes" including Bart allen, Jay Garrick.

Yeah i have been getting a Spiderman vibe from Blue beetle. He would be cool, but maybe expensive.
The firestorm costume is to bright lol, I wouldnt mind if they changed or just darken the colours a bit, they could tweek it to make it more modern too. My favourite pair is Ronnie/Jason but I wouldnt mind any pair.

that would be a good plan.
And Of course Nightwing is always a contender but due to the bat embargo and stuff , its almost always impossible .

    Your welcome!

Any pair would be fine with me but,I'd be willing to bet if they were to make a live action Firestorm series, they'd go with the Ronnie/Jayson pair.

I've long said that they probably should consider doing a live action Batman show. Yes, yes, budget, but I'm pretty sure you could do *something* on the kind of budget Arrow is getting, and you'd get a lot higher ratings too. WB just has no interest in such, apparently.

Love all the ideas. Firestorm would be interesting and who doesn't want a show about The Question?

Nightwing, did you know you already have a show in progress? it's a webseries but it counts.

As for your poster its nice, but give me a day or two and I might be able to top it.

Same. And I wouldnt mind Martin Stein getting a supporting/guest role or something.

As long as it gets to be on cable. Or at least CBS.
