This season seems like it is going to be darker then the rest.

Amazing trailer, Lithgow totally stole it. The end was great, Dexter going off the rails.

Thats the main thing I liked. You actually see him going a bit more crazy (than he already is).

I wonder if Lundy will be the unlucky one this season?

I think Lundy is still suspicious of Dexter. Did anyone notice that Dexter was holding a blood slide when Lundy walked in.

yeah, showtime announced an online-only, animated prequel series, "Dexter: Early Cuts"

Will the trailer be up in HD?

PS: Some shots of Lithgow:

That trailer rocked my socks! The fatherhood asPect should keep this season fresh.

Oh, new fanart...

^Him & House are BFFLs! :D

I totally think Lithgow is gonna straight steal the show this season. Its gonna be like Ledger stealing the show in TDK Im telling ya

Ok, just watched the great trailer.

My anger over missing the panel has grown. Especially when I learned my friend went to it! :cmad: :p

I totally agree. He's a great character actor.

Yea Lithgow will make Jimmy Smits look like a pansie this season. The Trinity killer will be the best killer yet on this show no doubt

I've read two of the books and am personally relieved that they drifted away from much of it. For one thing, the Dexter character of the books is a very weak protagonist. Dexter of the show retains some semblence of humanity. Suggests that their may be some man left in Dexter. Book Dexter lacks that and makes it impossible to relate to him as he is essentially a hollow shell. He IS the monster he so often claims to be (as opposed to the one he tries to rationalize himself as in the book). On top of that, Lindsay's writing style is very weak. Plots jump from point A to point B with little build up or logic and there is no falling action after the climax.

As for Astor and Cody, yeah, they are clearly entirely different in the show than in the book and I hope it stays that way.

The one thing of the book I would like to see carry over is Dr. Danko or at least something similiar. Obviously the plot would need tweaking but I'm sure the writers can improve on him as they did Dexter, Rita, Doakes, LaGuerta, and Angel.

It's interesting that you mention this, because I don't know if anyone else sees it, but Dexter reminds me most of Sherlock Holmes. Dexter, like Sherlock Holmes, wishes for solitude, doesn't relate to humanity at all, and because of his cold detached nature, he's able to deduce and notice things that no one else would. The only difference is that they are on just barely opposite sides, almost like divided by a fence. Sherlock does slightly empathize with victims, while Dexter almost does but not quite. That's just my little theory anyway.

lithgow may give a great performance...but if ive learned one thing, its MCH steals this show...every season. he always outshines the guest stars IMO... Smits, Carradine, Lila, Biney... all outshined completely. MCH is very underrated.

But dude like I said this is different! This is John fn Lithgow man! Now if they hired Robert Knepper or somethin I could understand but Im telling you Lithgow will steal this season. Dont get me wrong MCH is phenomenal but this is ****ing Lithgow man!

2 weeks & counting 'til Season 3 is on dvd.

Personally I would love to see a Dexter/CSI cross-over. Unfortunately it's already been established that Dexter is a fiction on CSI. A Law & Order/Dexter cross-over? Maybe.

Uh no ****ing way dude! That would be absolutely horrible. I cant stand shows that are so episodic like that. Makes me think of Full House or Family Matters or something where everything is tied up with a neat little tie at the end of each ep. I like shows that have actual progressing story arcs

Dexter is kinda episodic in its own way. Sure there's the overall story arc, Dex's cat & mouse game with the seasons nemisis. But then there's Dex's extracurricular activities, which are tied up in a neat little bow at the end of each episode (then dumped into the ocean). Why not have the detectives from SVU chase a suspect all the way to Miami, only to have him "disappear" at the hands of Dexter and his Dark Passenger? Kinda like what they did with CSI & Without A Trace. They most likely never will (only reason CSI & WAT worked is they're both Jerry Bruckheimer projects) but it's fun speculating. They just can't do a Dexter/CSI crossover because there have been a few episodes of CSI: NY in which there were Dexter advertisements on billboards in the background.

This isnt network tv though. I dont think a show like CSI or SVU would work right in a cross over at all. Dexter needs no kinda crossover theyre stories are good the way they are
