Exactly what they were going for I'm sure. Patrick Bateman is actually his alias in the computer login for ordering the knockout serum for his victims, I thought that was a clever nod. Anyone who has seen American Psycho can make a clear link between the two characters. Dexter does have some morsel of a soul though it seems.

Very true. Like in that scene from season one (and I'm paraphrasing here).

Harry: Have you ever wanted to kill anything bigger? Like a person?

Dexter: Sometimes.

Harry: Why didn't you?

Dexter: I didn't think you and mom would like it.

Harry: You're a good boy Dex.

Dexter: No I'm not.

Harry: Yes you are. If you weren't you wouldn't care how you mom and I would react.

(That's all I can remember off the top of my head, but that's the gist of it)

Just beat the dexter game and I love it.

Any idea how different the first episode will be from the early released one?

I hope Michael wins tonight.

What are the emmys based on anyways? I always thought that if awards arent based on fan votes, what the hell is the point? Some critic can give you an award because he thought it was cool? Seems kind of stupid, in a lot of cases anyways.

I am so glad it's not based on fan votes. the general public is stupid and they would only vote for reality shows.

New season starts this sunday but for me and others it really starts next sunday with episode 2 of S4.

How it was done in 2003 (which I assume is still how it's done)
The Emmy Awards are unique among the major entertainment awards.

Unlike the Grammys, Tonys and Oscars, winners are chosen by peer judging panels that assure each nominee's work is seen by every voter, says Tom O'Neil, author of The Emmys.

Emmy nominations were made by a vote of the 12,000-member Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

More than 5,000 entries were received for this year's Emmys, shows broadcast between June 1, 2002, and May 31, 2003, says Ben Baker, academy spokesman.

Winners were selected by "blue ribbon" peer groups, ranging from 18 to 700 jurists, depending on their specialty (makeup, writing, performance, directing, etc.), Baker says. The judges watched tapes at the academy and/or at home, he says.

More than 60 Emmys for the creative arts (casting, cinematography, editing, hairstyling, sound mixing) and guest star performances were presented Sept. 13 in Los Angeles.

Anyone know if the new season will be available on itunes each week? Or maybe even Netflix?

As i know every year they release (ot it leaks) the first episode and that on the offcial release there are a lot of differences.

you must not pay too much attention...bc every year they have been the exact same.

I'm about halfway through the 3rd season, not as crazy as the 1st or 2nd so far.

Yeah season 3 is a little different but is still good.

In the very first episode of Season 1, I miss that mask that Dexter wears. Do you guys remember that? He wrapped plastic around it head, I thought that looked kool. Why don't they show that anymore??? because it makes Dexter look evil or something??

All three seasons had me on the edge of my seat...all three storylines are great in a different way, like a natural progression for the character and everything/everyone that surrounds him.
