Academy Award-nominated and Emmy, Tony and Golden Globe award-winner John Lithgow will take on one of his most intense and intriguing roles to date portraying Miami's latest serial killer in Showtime's top-rated drama series "Dexter." Lithgow will be featured in all 12 episodes of season four which are scheduled to premiere Sunday, September 27th on Showtime.

Lithgow will play Walter Simmons, an unassuming, mild-mannered suburbanite who has been living a dual life as one of America's most prolific and deadliest serial killers. Dubbed the "Trinity Killer" because of his proclivity to kill in three's, he relocates to Miami after being tracked by F.B.I. Special Agent Frank Lundy (Keith Carradine). Brought on to assist in the investigation of Miami's latest serial killer, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) becomes fascinated with "Trinity's" unique killing methods and his ability to evade capture for almost three decades.

"Dexter" stars Michael C. Hall as a complicated and conflicted blood-spatter expert for the Miami police department who moonlights as a serial killer. The show also stars Julie Benz, Jennifer Carpenter, C.S. Lee, Lauren Vélez, David Zayas, and James Remar.

Well, it's on the mainpage, and plastered over every other media site I visit, so I didn't think many people would be coming here and seeing it for the first time. I didn't think they'd delve too deeply into the character he's playing in a press release if his portrayal from the very beginning left any doubt to whether he's good or bad.

so they will mention Lundy this season? Will he be coming back? Lithgow is awesome though. I loved him 3rd Rock from the Sun.

sometimes benz is too homely on the show, but when i look at her again, she's pretty hot.

that's as in-depth a person can get, by the way.

anyway, i'm looking forward to season 4, though i hope dexter having a kid and being married won't weigh down on the story too much. i never understood how dexter could disappear for hours at a time unaccounted for by his wife (or then girlfriend); i mean it's like she doesn't really care what he does all the time.

Definitely looking forward to Lithgow, and I need little convincing of his ability to play the character. 3rd Rock From The Sun may be what a lot of people know him for nowadays, but he's always been incredibly diverse. One of my favorite roles of his is actually as the villain in Richochet, with Denzel Washington.

i personally dont think its an accident.

One of my favorite roles of his is actually as the villain in Ricochet, with Denzel Washington.

Lithgow always played good Psycho's, Raising Cain was pretty creepy, especially with the DePalma signature killer Tranny persona.

Cannot wait till the new season starts, it's going to be a long summer....

I was kinda surprised we didnt see Lila at all in season 3. I think there needs to be a scene where everyone that Dex has killed who knew his secret are all talking to him at once when hes really conflicted about something. Or maybe they do it in a sequence where Harry will walk up say something the dissappear in the darkness then Brian walks up and says something then Miguel. Yea thought about it and **** Lila she was just a dumb ****ing ****
