Dexter

I hope the series ends with Dexter admitting that he does have feelings. We all know but I think Dexter still believes he doesn't feel for other people.

The ending was great. I loved Dexter's realization: "Trinity is... like me." :hehe:

And I hope anyone who still believes Dexter doesn't have real feelings was paying attention to this episode. Dexter was genuinely terrified at the beginning of the episode; it was written all over his face. And then he was obsessive about getting revenge for Deb. You don't generally get to that point unless you genuinely love someone.

It was brought up before, but this rang so true to me when he was in the car park with Deb when she started sobbing.

Probably one of my favorite "quieter" moments in Dexter history.

I think he's working his way toward that realization this season. He already had that "holy crap, that's actually true" moment when he told last week's victim that he would rather get caught than lose his family. Now he's on a revenge trip because someone hurt his sister. Plus, he's constantly arguing with the Harry/Dark Passenger/whatever side of himself about whether Rita, the kids, and the suburban life are too great a liability.

We will see the new episode on Sunday, right? I'm asking beacuse i see House and bunch of other shows will air new episodes in November.

Maybe the end of the show is simply that Dexter gives up his old life and banishes the dark passenger for good...?

Or right at the end, we see him keep one slide trophy for good measure as a hint of possibly going back to the killer life style.

Just thought I'd throw this idea out there, always fun to guess.

Two things I don’t understand.

  • I thought Trinity was killing in every state? So what happens with he’s family? They travel with him? Or he is going ‘’on business’’?
  • 2. Trinity is around 60 yo, right. So why is he’s family so young? He’s kids looked like 17-18 yo, so he must had them around 40?

*He probably goes out to do 'missionary work', or whatever the heck is a deacon's equivalent. Might also explain why he's returned to Miami. He didn't have an excuse to travel to another state, so he's starting over.

*My last boss had his first kid when he was 42. And if he's like Dexter, than it makes some sense. He went 40 years as a bachelor doing his Trinity thing, realized it looked suspicious, so he started a family.

I was thinking maybe Trinity came back to Miami and re-enacted the murder ritual in the same places he did 30 years ago as kind of a closure to his serial killing. Wouldn't it be interesting if Trinity has basically hung up his bloody hammer, so to speak, and settled down to retire--the same way Dexter probably might want to, now that he knows he actually cares about his family--and Dexter's faced with the choice of whether to punish him for basically being as good at serial killing as Dexter hopes to be?

i really liked his reaction too when he found out that Deb was shot, him trying to go pass the cop  i know for sure the reporter chick has nothing to do with the vacation murders. Kalel114 your also right, Trinity would have taken that recorder and finish off Deb too. could it be that Asian chick that followed Deb around?

I would like for this show to end without Dexter giving up his Dark Passenger. Maybe with Harrison, slowly and subtly teaching him the "code". I think it would be wonderful because it leaves everything OPEN and we can all be left to wonder..... did he go on to do this for 30+ years? Did Harrison follow in his footsteps? Did he maybe one day get caught?

I like that idea better. There's no way I want Dexter to completely give his Dark Passenger up, that's for sure. I'd rather have him be killed off in the end or get caught than that.

I´ve always felt that this series needs to end with Dexter either being caught or killed, it just wouldn't be right somehow if he got away with it.

The reactions of his co-workers when he is brought in would be a great final moment in the series.

The series need to end the way each episode starts.

Dexter gives one final inner monologue, then looks into the camera and gives us that wicked smile. Cut to black.

last scene in the first season finale was the best lol

Ive always wanted to see Dexter get caught. Hell I think itd be awesome if we had a whole season of Dexter on trial

For the people that suggest the open ended series final, that's all well and good, but such things have never gone done particularly well with fan bases.

The Shield and Sopranos quickly come to mind...

I'd like to see some total closure for Dexter and his immediate family.

I've always thought the series would end with some kind of confrontation between Dexter and Deb. Maybe she finds him out and she has to make a decision, or he confides in her, something along that line. Also there is something really crooked about Detective Quinn. Had that feeling since he was introduced last season. Maybe he is somehow involved in this whole Lundy/Deb shooting.

Quinn is very shady...but I think they do that on purpose to keep us on our toes.

I see Quinn being an expendable character that probably gets killed off later in the show to give us a "whoa" moment similar to Doakes.

But I could be wrong.

agreed but i wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be the vaca murderer, since he likes jacking peoples money and plus he didn't believe Lundy and maby was pissed that Deb was cheating on Anton

What are you talking about? The Shield was ****ing fantastic finale.

Yeah man, I loved the Shield and it's finale.

I just know it was a massive talking point on here during the time regarding how it ended.

Yeah, the entire story wrapped up. Incredible finale. Sopranos on the other hand...

i thougt sopranos was a bad ass show, was the season finale that bad?

This is getting off tangent > but it was regarding Vic's fate. That wasn't wrapped up. His fate was left open for interrpretation...

damn

anyways the last three seasons of Dexter were 12 epidsodes so i guess we have 7 more to go
