Eh. I dunno, she seemed pretty real to me. Sure she annoyed the audience, but that was the point. She stopped Dex from doing what he does. And we dont like that. But that's very realistic.

And I think at the end, I was incredibly sad to see her go. She really was Dexter's one real link to humanity.

And even all that aside, you HAVE to feel for those kids. I do....Damn...that would be the hardest thing.

Dexter still has a link to humanity his son and maybe Astor and Cody also Debra but yea it started with Rita.

Thats what I love about the first season he starts out as a monster with feelings that are buried way deep down but towards the end of that season they slowly start to rise up.

The same could be said about Rita when the show started she was a broken woman and as the show went on she became this very strong and confident woman and to see her in that bathtub full of blood like that is tragic.

I was one of the ones that wanted Rita to die. Then when she did I realised just what he had lost. I remember watching the episode in season 1 where Dexter & Rita talk about wanting the same things. Just to be normal.

Now I realise that is never going to happen. Not for her anyway. That makes me sad. I now wish she hadn't died. I just wish the writers had written her better. They turned her into an annoying stereotypical wife in the beginning of last season.

Oh well whats done is done.

I'm glad she never found out who he really was though. That she really just got to know the good Dexter, the guy that she pretty much saved from becoming a drone and teaching him to feel love and know what a family and attachment is all about.

dexters first, and most important, connection as a 'person' is harry. which is really dexter himself. he is a monster, yes, but harry helped that monster be somewhat human. Rita was his best disguise really. I would hate if they completely play it off as Rita being Dexters only real connection, bc she was nothing but a disguise for damn near 3 full seasons. Dex is gonna go crazy pissed on his kills this season, i cant wait. but as for rita being his best connection, well no. Deb is his last real connection, only because harry has forced that to dexter. lets face it, dex is a ****ing crazy bastard. but harry has kept him under control because of deb. all of dexters decision feel like they are based on deb. rita and the kids have a role in it, but its always deb.

honestly i feel like the last season should have deb die. that would be dexters downfall. his real downfall. wtf is dex without deb?
